I was a Lawn Doctor customer until a dispute over a service I never approved ultimately resulted in a collection notice. In the fall, Lawn Doctor repeatedly texted asking when I wanted aeration and overseeding performed and whether my sprinklers had been marked. I never marked the sprinklers, never confirmed I wanted the service, and never responded that I was ready. I even asked whether this was an add-on service because I had not agreed to it. They confirmed it was "separate" from my annual plan. Despite that, the company performed the aeration and overseeding anyway. The work was also incomplete, with portions of my yard around a swingset and trampoline left untouched. When I disputed the charge, I was told it was my responsibility to cancel a service I never scheduled. After several weeks, the owner left me a voicemail stating he would correct the bill to keep me as a customer. Based on that message, I believed the issue was being resolved. Instead, after months of little or no communication, I received a collection notice for the disputed charge. What makes this especially disappointing is that Lawn Doctor advertises a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee. In my experience, that guarantee meant very little when I raised concerns about unauthorized work, incomplete service, and an unresolved billing dispute. Rather than resolving the issue, the company ultimately chose to pursue collection of the disputed amount. My advice to prospective customers is to keep records of all communications, get approvals in writing, and carefully review any additional services before work is performed. read more

As an update to my July review, Lawn Doctor has a collection agency after me to pay an additional $380 over what I agreed to pay to aereate and seed my lawn. Back In July the owner called me to threaten me with this type of action thinking that most people would pay him to avoid the hassle. As a matter of principle, I will fight this crook in court. Poor service and damaged our lawn. No longer have them and found a better service for less, 40% less, money.

We have been customers of this company for a decade. I'm sad to say I would NOT RECOMMEND them to anyone. They have become too big and hold zero accountability. Accidents happen and mistakes are made in life. We decided to add on a weeding service to our plan. Long story short they ended up killing E V E R Y perennial in my yard while leaving the grass/weeds well and alive in the beds. I reached out to the owner. He still tried to charge me the full fee for the service. After a lot of back and forth he agreed to splitting it. Um. NO! I explain to him that we should just call it even seeing how it's actually costing me $1,000s of dollars and years of time to fix the problem. Long story short- he did not agree to that. This company "guarantees" their work, but doesn't stand by that guarantee. I did what they told me to do which was to keep our dogs off the lawn for 2 months while the lawn germinated. I did that by installing a temporary fence and my lawn never fully germinated. When I complained they blamed me for not watering correctly, letting animals on the lawn, I was then told we have to much shade in the back yard (we have two large maple trees) and that it would never fully germinate because of that. If that was the case, I should have been given that info before they agreed and guaranteed I'd be satisfied with their services. You can expect to pay them every single month from May- September for some sort of fertilizer and weed treatment no matter what. I've used other companies in the past and they never fertilized/weed treated every single month. If my lawn looked amazing then maybe this would have been okay, but I've concluded they just like to nickel and dime you as much as possible. When I asked them to come out and power-seed again since the first application didn't work they told me I would have to pay, again not standing by their guarantee. I had responded to these people twice via text message not to come fertilize until I could talk with the owner about how dissatisfied we were. They ignored my two text messages and came anyway and charged me. I had to ask for them to remove that charge and thankfully they did. But when I asked them to powerseed again or refund me some money since my back yard looks like garbage they refused. Please save your money and do not use this company. read more

Horrible service, except for Justine in their office, who was very nice and gets the only star. Weeds were missed during the first service and the dandelions were thriving and blooming. I asked for a recall service appointment which took several days to get. After recall service, there were still weeds missed, but flowers, ground cover, and grass were burned and killed with treatment. I paid in advance for the spring/summer/fall plan and got a refund. Then I noticed my small ornamental evergreen tree was dying, which is where they treated during the recall service, confirmed by the note the technician left. I sent photos to Chris, the owner, of the dead tree and still thriving dandelions and got no response, which translates to he didn't care. Beyond disappointed. read more

This was the first and only time I've ever or would ever use this come. They did not deliver on their promises. Nor did they even treat all the areas I paid for. Was told if I paid in full there would be a discount. Not true. They sign you up for continuous service year after year but have no way to cancel on the website. I had to send numerous emails to be able to cancel them. read more

Well where do I start- I received a call from Lawn Doctor on March 15th scheduling an aerating appointment, was told I would receive a call a week before the appointment to mark my sprinklers and was told it would happen at the end of April. I called and left a message on March 20th stating I no longer wanted the aeration done. Well, low and behold, they showed up May 5th any way and aerated my lawn, left a bill for a service that I canceled and broke a sprinkler. I called them as the service was happening (thanks ring camera), told them that I had canceled the appointment, and that I would not be paying the bill for a service I didn't want. That night I left them a message since upon returning home I discovered the broken sprinkler. I was told they have no record of the call (thanks call log) but they would look into it and get back to me. After several phone calls and emails (one in which they claim they never received, not sure what happened there because it was magically found), the problem has still not been resolved so here I am leaving a review for a company I would NOT recommend. I am also contacting corporate to have this matter handled without having to further deal with a company that takes advantage of its customers. read more

Horrible communication. I had Lawn Doctor out to do aeration, no call in advance as to when someone was coming out. I had told Chris who I think is the owner I was not sure if we wanted the front and back yards done or just the front. He said I could just let the technician know when they came out. When the technician showed up, he said he had no time to do the backyard due to it not being scheduled. This was the same issue with them coming out to do perimeter pest control. Multiple times Chris told me he did not know when they would be out, but then one day he just showed up and treated the yard. No advance call. We have dogs and it was imperative that we be informed of when they would be out. I am NOT happy at all. The technician that came out and did the aeration was great, but that was the only positive in dealing with the entire company. Moving on to a better company that cares about their customer. read more
