This company was trimming a tree in my neighbor yard yesterday, not my yard. However, they thought it was okay to throw the limbs and debris into my manicured backyard and onto my fence. It crushed some of my garden there and did surface damage to my wooden fence. My neighbor had told me she was having her tree trimmed but not that they would use my yard. They did not come and tell me they were doing this and I found out as the limbs were crashing down. My neighbor was apologetic but it is this company that is at fault. No one knocked on my door or asked and made a mess of my yard. They cleaned the big limbs up, however they left lots of twigs and debris. This company was used by the apartment complex I live at. I was extremely bummed along with my middle school aged son, because while 'Sam's tree and landscaping' worked at 8 am chopping large branches from a tree directly in front of my patio ( with no prior notice) my plants that are FULLY only patio, not on the grass, not outside the patio , were DESTROYED by them allowing the branches to just crash down onto my patio and my vegetable plants snapping most all of the limbs in half. But what is the most disappointing is my son was growing a sunflower for his science class for school, and because of the lack of care they completely snapped the head ( or flower) off of the plant he has been caring for through the entire summer. Such a bummer to see him so upset due to the lack of care towards customers property. I myself own a small business and I'd be livid to know anyone working for me would be so careless. Please do better for other customers ( and their plants) in the future. read more

They arrived early, and did a quick and amazing job removing our willow tree. I highly recommend them for any tree removal!

Sam came out same day as our inquiry to check out our trees, he was very professional and knowledgeable. It did take 2 weeks to get them out to complete the job, but they did a beautiful job trimming 2 oak trees and removing one that was dying. Recently we had Sams tree service remove and trim some trees. They did an amazing job and we were happy. Today they returned and did two stump grindings. It is a mess. Apparently they don't clean up this portion of their work. When I asked the man if he was going to clean up the mess he said No that's how we leave it. Two good sized holes and bark and dirt all over. I will never use or recommend this company. Several neighbors already came by and asked who made the mess. My response Sams tree grinding service. I did call the company to complain and was told we were informed before hand on the end result. We were not. I wish I could post the pictures! Update on this. Sam the owner called and apologized for the misunderstanding. At least he called to talk to me which shows he is a responsible business owner. He offered To clean up for a price. We will do it ourself. I'm still upset at the miscommunication but I do appreciate the call. As I said before their tree people were amazing. read more

The real judgement of a business is not how they perform when all things go well, but how they respond when things do not go great. The original job was not up to their standards and maybe there was some miscommunication. Their prices are at a premium (rightly so, you get what you pay for) and you should expect premium work. After the job I was not happy and let them know. They immediately scheduled a time to come in and make things right. One snowstorm later and winter in-between, they just came in and redid the entire job. It looks great! I am happy with their work and their customer service. I have done business with Sam's business for over 11 yrs but they have raised their prices over 100% and they are not affordable.

I can't say too much about the 6-person crew that Sam's sent to fell two Alpine Fir trees in our back yard. You can see from the pictures the potential danger with out buildings, power lines, swing sets, etc. From the first knock on the door until cleanup at their chipper, it took them only two hours to complete all quoted tasks. The price was competitive; the work, excellent. I'll be having them back next spring to help with our sprinkler system and yard work. Purchased a new home in a new neighborhood in the 5 mile area. Wanted low maintenance landscaping that was designed well and fit into the rest of the look within the HOA community. Enoch was great in presenting a bid and being very professional. This carried over to the 5-10 workers they had on the site, cleaning up after themselves as they work, being respectful of neighbors, etc. for two days. This wasn't a small job for a residence and cost was a little higher than I thought but I am totally happy with what I paid given the A+ work, professionalism, courtesy, etc. Customer Service has been and is top notch! I have worked with so many other places in the past that were flakey, didn't listen to their customers, etc. The final product came out great! They did my neighbor's yard yesterday. Hacks. The only excuse for the job I am looking at would be that Sam's employs people with significant vision deficits. No esthetic, and no thought to the amount of light that our rare specimen (and EXPENSIVE) Japanese maple is now going to get. What's done is done, and if you want cheap, you'll get what you paid for. If you care about what your yard looks like, go elsewhere. read more

Sam arrived to give me an estimate within 24 hours of requesting one, and had a crew show up a day later. They removed a dead fir that was leaning towards my neighbors fence. They planted over 50 trees along my back fence for privacy last fall. They also installed a new drip line and updated my sprinkler controller for me. I worked with Enoch and am very happy with the level of customer service that I've gotten. Their crew was very professional and were able to answer all my questions. They worked in good time and cleaned up after themselves. When my trees died going into the winter, I spoke with Enoch and he took care of me. Yesterday they replaced all the dead trees at no cost. It was a big job but I felt it was really good value and I'm happy with the result. Andrew and Brendan arrived at 7:30 am on a cool and rainy morning to prune an ancient, overgrown apricot tree that was in the corner of a fenced yard, hanging over into three adjoining neighbors' yards and next to a power pole with lines to four homes. After taking all the time necessary to drastically prune the tree back, branches were removed and chipped up, and they raked and cleaned up not only our yard, but the adjoining neighbors' yards that were involved. This is the third time that we have called on Sam's Tree & Landscape and each time we have been impressed with their knowledge, skill and efficiency, and most of all with the courtesy and friendliness of their staff. We just moved in January and the yard is so overgrown. I've called many companies for estimates and picked Sam's due to their great pricing. Chris and Mitch came over to clean up some overgrown Arborvitae hedges on both sides of the house and did a great job in the 90 degree weather. My father hired this company to trim trees on his property. I was horrified to see the results. They topped all of the trees!!! Including a very old apple tree that was completely butchered. This is NOT how real arborists trim trees! I was so sad to see all of the beautiful trees hacked away. I have no idea how they will recover or if they will. Very disappointing.
