I stopped here on my recent road trip from Valley Forge, PA to Columbus, OH. This was my first stop on this trip. Perhaps due to our current COVID restrictions not all eateries were open here including Starbucks, but I was very glad Burger King was open, and I got some critically needed coffee for the road--I left very early and unfortunately could not get my coffee before I got on the road (at least that was my plan before I went to bed on the previous night). Pennsylvania Turnpike (toll road) has these fairly decent service plazas with restaurants and gas stations strategically placed from one end of the state to the other. I normally don't pump gas on these plazas unless my gas is critically low since they are considerably more expensive. However, I find myself making frequent stops as I get older these days. These service plazas are very convenient. Perhaps due to COVID restrictions, none of the plazas I stopped at on this day were crowded. Though they are showing some signs of wear and tear, restrooms are fairly clean and facilities are well-maintained. Over the years, food vendors got changed, but it seems there's Starbucks on each rest area. It just happened that it wasn't operating at this location. Thank you Pennsylvania for making my road trips more convenient and pleasant for maintaining these facilities (although I pay good money to travel on your roads, ha)!

As far as turnpike service plazas go, the newly renovated Lawn Service Plaza is good one. It has ample parking and best of all, the restrooms are clean and free of foul smelling odors. Also, interestingly enough, besides a Hersey's and a Starbuck's they have a Keystone Roadside BBQ which is a rather small Central Pennsylvania chain specializing in what the term South-Style Barbecue. I think rather odd in that Pennsylvania isn't a state known for barbecue. Matter of fact the locals in this area still don't seem to know the difference between barbecuing and grilling. And though the folks at Keystone seem to have started somewhere in the Carolinas, their style seem like the typical Carolina. I was lucky enough to have some of their Q and found it to be rather good.

Ice and clean. Plenty of clean bathrooms. Starbucks and Burger King open for business. Masks are worn and required by customers.

Burger King review: About the slowest restaurant I've seen at a travel plaza. I waited forever. No urgency from anyone to get the orders out. They got my order wrong and I had to come back and wait again.

Very clean including bathrooms. Glad there was a Sunoco store with snacks that were fairly reasonable. Starbucks staff were super nice

It's a service plaza on the PA state tollway. The gas pumps all had gas, and the convenience store had the usual goodies.

Recently I had to stop because I needed to do some work related stuff. It also didn't hurt that I needed to use the facilities. Getting off at this rest stop can be a bit tricky. This sits at the top of a crest where three lanes of traffic (used to allow for slower moving big rigs to be on the right) goes down to two. So if you are scurrying along to pass those big rigs, you may miss it or have to cut it close to make the exit to the rest stop. Once on the lot, just follow the signs to where regular cars/trucks/suvs would go. The building on the grounds are what you would expect at a rest stop. They do have some things here that are to entertain or educate you, but they have been directly in the sunlight so much that they are bleached or just plain old destroyed. Facilities are well taken care of and usable. My main purpose here was to do a real quick work thing and then continue on my way. The cell service here is bad. I had LTE at most and did not matter what I was trying to do, just would not work. Totally not their fault, but if it is against the law to text or hold a handheld device while driving, they might want to invest in WiFi or something at these rest stops. Getting back onto the highway is a bit tricky as well. Leaving from the regular vehicle lot you go on what feels like a winding country road. Then you have to rush yourself in hopes that you can make it back on the highway without causing any delays.

I haven't had to use it in a long time. It was clean, but you need to take into consideration what kind of people with medical conditions are going in there. Actually my friend who is not asthmatic also came out coughing from the smell. Hopefully you will cut back on the bleach.
