I think this is as 5 stars as it gets for rest stops! We stopped here on a cold November day. The ladies room was clean and WARM! Also stocked with feminine products and a changing table. Only downside was there wasn't a hook to hang my purse, but not sure if that was just my stall. They even had paper plates below the soap to catch any drips. My husband said the men's room was well kept as well. The facility also had a nice information center with friendly staff. The property had everything from picnic tables, to a playground, to an area to walk your dog (poop station with bags included). 10/10 would stop here again!

Pretty great facilities that are spacious and kept really clean. The playground is a nice feature to let children get some energy out. The welcome center has a ton of pamphlets with information about all kinds of things to do and see in every county across Maryland. Quite a few vending machines with a ton of options. The reason for only 3 stars is that the woman inside of the welcome center is the most unwelcoming person I've come across in one of these welcome centers across the country. When I walked in she asked if I needed anything and I told her we had just moved to MD from Utah and I wanted to get some information about things to do and see around the state. She seemed pretty irritated that I asked some basic questions, and didn't seem to really know the answers.

Great pit stop before you get to, or when you're leaving Washington DC. Outside is well landscaped with lots of benches and picnic tables; the doggie area and picnic area are separate. Lots of well stocked vending machines with snacks and drinks: both Coke and Pepsi products available. Friendly, helpful staff willing to guide you through the rows upon rows of brochures and maps. Downside is their dirty bathrooms and lack of bag/coat hooks in the stalls.

On I-70 between Frederick and Hagerstown, this decent sized rest area is a good spot to take a break from mountainous driving and stretch your legs. Separate parking for trucks and cars, with a nice corner that really forces the car drivers to slow down quite a lot. It was a very cloudy and rainy day, so I couldn't tell you if there's much for shade here. But there is a decent cellular signal! Clean restrooms and the usual expensive vending machines.

Very nice facility. Very clean, well kept, plenty of parking and plenty of brochures inside. There is also a vending snack area, picnic area and play area.

On my multiple trips back and forth on I-70 I usually bypass this rest stop, it's in a weird area…read more For more than one reason. Recently I had to stop because I needed to do some work related stuff. It also didn't hurt that I needed to use the facilities. Getting off at this rest stop can be a bit tricky. This sits at the top of a crest where three lanes of traffic (used to allow for slower moving big rigs to be on the right) goes down to two. So if you are scurrying along to pass those big rigs, you may miss it or have to cut it close to make the exit to the rest stop. Once on the lot, just follow the signs to where regular cars/trucks/suvs would go. The building on the grounds are what you would expect at a rest stop. They do have some things here that are to entertain or educate you, but they have been directly in the sunlight so much that they are bleached or just plain old destroyed. Facilities are well taken care of and usable. My main purpose here was to do a real quick work thing and then continue on my way. The cell service here is bad. I had LTE at most and did not matter what I was trying to do, just would not work. Totally not their fault, but if it is against the law to text or hold a handheld device while driving, they might want to invest in WiFi or something at these rest stops. Getting back onto the highway is a bit tricky as well. Leaving from the regular vehicle lot you go on what feels like a winding country road. Then you have to rush yourself in hopes that you can make it back on the highway without causing any delays.

I haven't had to use it in a long time. It was clean, but you need to take into consideration what kind of people with medical conditions are going in there. We were already doing the paranormal Trail but saw some information about the waterfall Trail here as well which we also did. I have spent time in all 48 contiguous states, and I in my opinion, West Virginia has the best tourism board of any state. There was a bit of a smell inside the information area that was a bit off-putting and as my husband was waiting outside with our dog, I was a little bothered to see a woman bring her large dog inside when it does not advise that this is a dog-friendly visitor Center. The bathrooms are detached and part of the rest area and could definitely use a good cleaning. Even though this was a short stop, it was definitely helpful.

I found the welcome center inviting and soothing after the extended and pointless detour that we're not discussing. expansive and well kept grounds surround the tourism information center which is set apart from the "facilities" which were in fine fettle this time through but completely not worth the time and miles it took to get here.

We stayed one night November 2025. What a dump!!!!…read more We were given a handicapped room - WHY? IT WAS HORRIBLE. The carpet was soaking wet, the couch (label was West Elm) was like sitting on bench of buckboard, a tiny, tiny sink, tiny microwave, dirty, poorly laid out, window that was left crooked and open so impossible to close, bad layout. There was nothing good about the experience. I called the hotel to book and was quoted a different price than online (cheaper) but charged the more expensive online price. Even my cat was offended. Last time I want to stay in a Marriott property. Run, don't walk, to Candlewood, Hampton Inn, I think the Motel 6 would be a better bet.

We got there about an hour early on Friday, checked in quick and easy no questions asked. [Take notes Best Western, Elizabethtown,PA and your $20 early check -in "policy". We mentioned our bikes and I am sure that the excellent staffer taking care of us (throughout the stay the staff was flawless) put us in a 1st floor room right off the entrance area. The suite easliy fit our two bikes in the entryway, they were never an issue during the two days/nights. The room was clean, bed was the good firm standard Marriott that I prefer. The shower was good, we had no issues with the room. The breakfast is pretty standard for this kind of setup. There are a couple of hot options and plenty of other things to choose from. The most finnicky eater can find something. They should consider reorganizing the couch in suite (and get a more comfortable one). It's hard for two people to watch TV in current location. We used it for an hour or so on first day, but spent the rest of the time in the room on and off the bed. There is road noise becuase the hotel is adjacent to a main highway and a mall. If you are looking for a quiet mountain cabin look elsewhere. There was one issue that the staff on hand had no control over but it should be corrected as soon as possible. My wife choose this hotel specifically for the advertised (and in the existing photos) hot tub/spa. We like to have that available after the rides we do. It's a nice treat for the non tour de france crowd after a long day on the bicycle. When we got there no spa. They had "recently" remodeled [still shows as existing on the signage]. We could see exactly where it had been. The pool was slightly heated and we did enjoy it briefly after our longer Saturday ride, but it is not the same, nor what we had specifically [paid] for. If in the area we would stay again, if we didn't want hot tub access. I prefer Marriott properties and they are consistently good, as was this location.
