We had a rotten old retaining wall that was falling apart, and we were concerned regarding the safety of our backyard. We called Lawngevity Landscaping, they talked us into doing a more expensive option for 60,000 with three walls. The agreement being that they would remove the previous retaining wall, lay out new ones and smooth out the backyard. They removed most of the old retaining wall, smoothed out the backyard, and placed a few of the old pieces of the retaining wall back in our backyard. They covered it with dirt, leaving a very uneven surface. They added dirt once: ineffective band-aid fix. As the dirt fell away a small, camouflaged obstruction was created. I tripped in the small divet created at the base of that camouflaged piece of wall. I broke my foot and was unable to care for my family or work for six weeks. I told the company and it has still not been fixed. I would strongly discourage anyone from using them without verifying that they won't rush the job. Finishing a job in three days is only good if the job is done correctly and responsibility is taken! read more

In 2012 we spent over $20,000 on a new back patio with fire pit to enjoy for our daughter's graduation party. The patio was to replace a cement patio the builder had installed which had lifted. Lawngevity came in and broke up the concrete and instead of disposing of the large chunks of concrete used it as "fill" for the new patio. My husband specifically told them he did not believe that was a good idea. Now for the last 4 yrs we have had to call them back each and every spring to fix gaps and sagging patio. The entire thing is so unlevel and with large gaps between stones I almost fell last year off the back. I was so furious that they kept returning and putting a "band aid" fix on a major structural issue they caused. This year they told us they were not going to fix it any longer- it was our problem. We have spend additionally money in their nursery and now see that they will not stand behind their work. I now won't even use the patio until we can have a professional fix the problem for good. September 2016- have another professional here taking apart the patio. Giant chunks of concrete used as fill, nothing to stop material from running between stone work. No appropriate materials under wall or patio. Nightmare. Another $15k or more to fix while having my lawn and backyard torn up with machines needed to fix. Never use this company. Looks great in pictures but doesn't stand up over time and they do not guarantee or fix their work properly. read more

VERY DISAPPOINTED - Went from five stars to ONE star!! We have been customers for 10 years and have probably spent $30,000 over that time. The last project we did was to purchase twelve pine and spruce trees for our back yard. The prices were fair and we paid full price for the trees (didn't ask for, nor were offered, any sort of bulk discount) and also paid full price for Lawngevity to professionally install them. The trees seemed healthy and fine for a while but then a number of them started to turn brown and eventually died. When we looked at these dead trees, it seemed that they were not planted too deeply and a lot of their root balls were above ground. I notified Lawngevity of this issue to see if they would replace the dead trees. I did not receive a response despite numerous emails and calls. I eventually went into the garden center in Chester to inquire about the situation and was told that I would get a call back from the owner. I have yet to hear back after many months. Not sure what happened to these guys - they were nice and were great to work with and give our business to, but this last situation and complete lack of follow up and customer service has me scratching my head as to why they would want to lose a very good long term customer over a couple of dead trees. I am looking at doing some more work in the back yard and am now shopping around for a new nursery. I hate to give the lowest review score but don't really have any choice. Don't bother, still waiting three weeks later for an estimate.

I am very ,very,disappointed with the lack of customer service after I and my wife have been so patient and accommodating to them for the last month. We have been told that they will deliver and my wife takes the necessary days off work-3 times-now . No delivery or phone call. Each time I go down there I am told the same - they will call and will deliver. We paid almost $1500 but have yet to see anything. We are now ready to cancel - reluctantly- as we were looking forward to these Trees .We run a business, and do not understand how other businesses can run this way - the product is good but The management shows a total lack of respect to the customer. read more

Went to this business to purchase a Christmas Tree. Staff was very helpful and as usual. My Douglas fir tree was alive and doing well. Fed it when i arrived home and when i brought it inside and decorated. Now its dead and losing all of it needles. I am very disappointed in this tree. I been living in the area for 49 years and never seen anything like this with a tree. I will never buy a Christmas tree from this place again. Very poor product. NEVER AGAIN read more
