Hired Chris a month ago to cut my grass twice a month. First time he did a terrible job. The grass was so short it made patches in half of the front lawn. Also, he left a large area of weeds and grass on the side of the house completely untouched. Said he would be back in a couple of weeks and will do everything next time. Came back from a three week vacation and the grass is really long. Called Chris and he told me that he would be by the next day. He never came. Sent him a text and he said he would take care of it on the weekend. Never came. Another text. I'll be there tomorrow. Never came. Texted him. Said something about family issues and he would be there tomorrow. Never came. Another text. Said he would be there when it cools down after six. At eight I asked if he was still coming. Never heard back. Today I'm looking at Yelp reviews for a new person. Saw a number that looked familiar and it is Chris. Run people of Yelp! Anyone have recommendations of a competent lawn service?? Edit : Chris, I only added the pics after reading your comment about how it was difficult to get ahold of me, when that was clearly not the case. You asked why did I wanted to hire you again after the first terrible job. Well, I believe everyone deserves a second chance and I gave you multiple chances to redeem yourself. Too bad you couldn't find the time to come by and do the job you "promised" to do. Lastly, my experience doesn't sound unique. Maybe you should read a couple of your other reviews. This seems like a common problem for you. People come to Yelp to see patterns of costumer service so they know what to expect. So, thank you for your comments. I'm sure nobody will have any doubt what to expect from you after reading your comments. Edit 2 : If anyone actually reads all of this, Chris deleted his last two comments. Now I am being accused of modifying the texts! All of this after he deleted his previous posts... So, I am adding another photo showing the Yelp emails proving how many times he has changed his reviews. Chris, if I modified the texts them please provide a pic of the original texts. Yeah, that will be impossible to do! Do you have any integrity at all? Too bad all of this will probably never be read and you will continue to scam people out of their money. $40 is not the issue, it's the principle of the matter. We searched the Nextdoor App for a recommendation on fence repair. -Worked 4 hours a day -6 days to replace 6 fence posts -left nails, screws debris all over -did not haul away old wood -did not put all fence boards back -left some screws not inserted on boards When he came to the door to collect his pay, he said he wasn't used to replacing just the fence posts and that a new fence would've been quicker. BE AWARE!!!! HAPPENED WITH ME! I asked for recommendations to install a sprinkler in my backyard in a group on Facebook and a guy name Christopher Almendarez called me by message. I called him to come here to check it out the best way to do that and to check what he needs and how much will cost. He came and gave me the instructions about what he thinks was the best way to do that and he said my hose needs to be fixed and he gave me the price for all the service. Before i say to him I want to do the service I asked him if everything will be hidden because of my dog and because I don't want anything exposed and ugly. He said yes and said only the feeder tube will be exposed but everything else hidden. We did an appointment. He came and my son paid him because I was at work. First of all he did not gave us any receipt for the payment!!! Even after I asked him to do that because I need to show the landlord. And worse of that, when I came home and checked his service I saw that he did not fix the hose and everything is leaking now. (I asked him to come back to fix it and he said that is not his business. How?? How he will install a sprinkler without leave that working?!) And more of all this, he left everything ridiculously ugly and exposed and I think he did not put the right thing because the water is coming crazy! I tried to contact him and he said it's not his business and his service was done. Like I said, how someone come, check, say what he needs to INSTALL A SPRINKLER SYSTEM and after that say that if it's leaking is not his business????? Then, he said he will come to do "by his heart" but gave me a lot excuses and never came. Now, he blocked me and I cannot contact him anymore! I'm pregnant and very mad right now. It's just to aware everyone about this company and this guy because nobody deserves that! I have everything saved on my Facebook messenger!!! And have photos and etc. THE NAME OF HIS BUSINEES IS "lawns hedges and weeds". But he gave a quote with another name, address and etc. JUST SAW ON HIS FULL PROFILE. My relationship with Chris started out great- quick response, fair estimate, etc. We had several projects for Chris and each one was started quickly, however there always seemed to be an excuse as to why they could not be totally finished. Are you kidding me?! I can't rate any lower, but I'd give zero stars if I could! First, let me provide some background. In preparation for this job, I had been digging up and capping sprinklers that might be under the play area or spray directly onto the swing set. There were at least 14 sprinklers in all, and when Chris came to give his quote, two sprinklers that would have been buried under the bark were sticking out of the ground an inch or two. Chris thought those should be cut down and capped below ground, but being a nice guy, he offered to correct those (since he had to remove a layer of dirt anyway). While he was at it, he offered to cap the last two that I had not done, since the caps were cheap and it was minimal labor involved. This was one of the things that made me think Chris was a good guy and convinced me to hire him at the time. So now I'm out of town for business while the swing set is being installed. I asked my wife to test the sprinklers to make sure that none of them spray directly onto the swing set. According to her, the guys installing the play set pointed out that there are sprinklers coming on underneath the play area. So now I'm assuming that we've got to remove the bark from the area where the last two sprinklers were, cut a hole through the weed barrier fabric, cap the two sprinklers that Chris volunteered to do for me, and then recover that area with bark. Fortunately, they aren't directly under the swing set itself. But it's one more commitment that Chris failed to meet. It's now been 2 weeks since I first reached out to Chris with questions about the work he'd done, and after 4 e-mails, 2 phone calls (with voice mails), a Yelp message directly to Chris, and even this bad review that was posted over a week ago, I've still heard nothing from Chris. Hire this guy at your own risk! I don't know if the people that posted good reviews were his friends, or if the work he does is just that inconsistent. But mine isn't the only bad review, and it seems like hiring him may be the equivalent of playing Russian roulette. read more

I had an appointment with this company for an estimate between 2:30 and 4:30. He showed up at 2:15 during a phone appointment I was on. I stopped my appointment to answer the door and tell him that I could not meet before 2:30 so he left. I had to text him more than once to find out if he was coming and his response was, "I left." How unprofessional was that?! Coming early to an appointment and expecting someone to accommodate him and then leave in a huff is unprofessional and rude. I would not recommend this person at all. I see that Chris is upset that I wrote him a bad review a few minutes after he left. He admits that our appointment was for 2:30 and that he was early. Cleaned out and snaked my gutters/drainage system. Rain flowing down as it should now. Installed downspout caps to help prevent leaves and large debris in the future. I contacted Chris, by phone, last week to receive an estimate on clearing, weeding, and roto-tilling, an overgrown parcel in Vallejo, CA. He and I discussed the specifics of the job in detail, and he advised that the work would be completed within a few days as I needed all of the overgrown vegetation removed by Friday morning for an inspection. When speaking with Chris initially I felt confident that I had found someone to provide quality work at a decent price, until I never heard back from him?
