I just wanted to take the time to share my experience with Lawrence Hall Chevrolet-Buick-GMC. I recently purchased a used 2023 Cadillac Escalade from them, and let me tell you how great Chris Chorn, the salesman from the used vehicle department, was. I'm from Arizona and found the vehicle on CARFAX, so I contacted the dealership. They transferred me to Chris, and right off the bat, he sent me really detailed pictures and videos of the car. That way, I wouldn't make the trip and end up disappointed over a scratch or something similar. He was completely honest about the car having a ding on the back and a cracked windshield, but assured me the windshield would be replaced if I bought the vehicle. Two days later, after great communication, I drove to Texas, and the car looked exactly as he had shown and described. I finally met him in person (he's a really outstanding guy), and he encouraged me to take it for a spin before buying. It drove amazingly. Unfortunately, the windshield technician brought the wrong windshield glass and couldn't replace it that same day, so Chris promised to send me a check for $620--the amount they were quoted by the replacement company. (Which I did) We went through finance, where I got GAP coverage and everything I wanted, without any pressure whatsoever. As a 39-year-old who's bought more than a dozen cars from dealerships, this was by far the best experience I've ever had. It took me a while to write this review, but here I go. Back on June 30th, my wife and I bought our 2018 Chevy Suburban from Lawrence Hall and we can't be any happier. We have been looking for a Chevy Suburban for our family, as we were driving one, but it was old and it was time to upgrade. Our family has grown in the last couple years an we needed a good, reliable and newer car. BUYER BEWARE I just bought a 2015 Silverado from them, less than a month later and less that 2000 miles put on the truck and now will not go into drive. Absolutely ridiculous. This is a different kind of review. I haven't bought a car from them nor do I suspect that I will ever be in Abilene, Tx again. What I can say, and why I gave them 5 stars, is because when I was stuck and needed a lifeline, I drove into their dealership frantic and could barely get words out in between sobs, not once did they hesitate helping me. I pulled up in the rain on a Saturday late afternooon and was lucky enough to happen upon Steve. I had an all electric rental car and did not know how to charge it. It was already almost dead and I was still 80 mikles from my destination. I had stopped at a few places already with no luck. I genuinely didn't know what I was doing. Steve helped me get the car charged for free. He showed me how to download a work and app that would guide me to recharge stations along my route and he was kind about it. He didn't make me feel stupid, he treated me like family. It's the little things that are actually bigger than you think! Thank you, Steve! read more

I spent $56,000 on a brand new 2015 Buick Enclave. It now has 53,000 miles on it and is 28 months into my ownership. The battery has completely died today in my driveway. ( we did a Load test and it it failed at 58 CCA ) since the AC Delco battery should last 5 or more years, I expected some type of pro-rate on the new $149.00 battery. Parts tried selling me the same battery that had a 48 month warranty. If it is the same battery why is my 30 month old battery not covered. I left the battery at Lawrence Hall and went to Interstate battery on Industrial Ave. Mike the manager sold me a better battery ( 770 CCA ) with a 6 year warranty for $153.00 Do not buy a new car from Lawrence Hall after the sale you become unimportant. DON'T GET TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF ON YOUR TRADE IN ALLOWANCE. My family recently purchased a new Yukon from Lawrence Hall and received friendly/attentive service from the sales rep Dylan. I was told this is the best dealership in town and could trust them on a fair deal for the new vehicle as well as the trade in. That is why I accepted their trade in offer without asking too many questions. After further research I believe I was low balled by about $3K. We took our VW here for a simple oil change, we did not have an appointment. We were told that they did not have the filter for a VW and they needed to order it, that it would take a little longer. We said ok, that we understood,and sat down to wait (we didn't have an appointment, so it was understandable)..2 hours later the service rep came to the waiting area and said the part wasn't there yet, and he had no idea how much longer it would be. This was after they had told my husband the car was almost done. I was dumbfounded and asked them to lower my car so i could leave. He said the oil was already drained and now we had to wait. I was understandably dismayed. RICK (some sort of manager) came and found me and my husband and took us outside. He told us that we had not been waiting 2 hours, that we shouldn't be complaining to other customers in the waiting area (who also said they were waiting an hour for an oil change WITH an appointment), and that they take care of their customers. I said that was fine, give me my car back, we would not be returning and again was told no Bc the oil had alrdy been drained. Fine. 2 minutes later RICK came back to my husband and I (we r still outside) and says "AND BY THE WAY ITS BEEN 39 MINUTES THAT YOUVE BEEN WAITING. So for you to say it's been 2 hours is just not true". I was stunned that he would come back to us AGAIN to basically continue his unprofessionalism. I told him i knew the difference between 2 hours and 39 minutes and he needed to walk away. I asked for his name and he told me that his name was RICK, that this was his place of business and if he wanted to be there and talk to me the way he was that he could and that i could talk to whoever i wanted to about this. He told me not to bring the vehicle back to Lawrence Hall. I was told to take it to VW next time. Stunned. If i could give 0 or negative stars I would. I will definitely not be returning. Called to see if they could work on my 1981 Cadillac. Needed AC work and alternator. Had car for 30days and bill was $240 at $140/hour. So in 20 days you looked at it for 1.5hours. And nothing but the part for AC was identified. When I called up front they told me they could fix it and then when I called to just come pick up my car since they've done nothing the tech had the nerve to tell me "well it was a project when you bought it". Yes it s my project but you said you could fix it not keep it and at your leisure fix it. Very disappointed with this Cadillac dealer. My husband and I were driving back from Amarillo when the tire on our Chevy flatbed truck began to unravel. As it was Memorial Day weekend, we went through town after town with nothing open. We made to Abilene and found this dealership open on Monday morning. WOW! Went in for a tire repair - came out 100% satisfied with a brand new Chevy pick up! We were treated like valued guests by Steve Porter and every member of the team. We were happy with the trade in price they gave us, they scouted out several rebates and we were able to pay for the new vehicle out right with no financing. Signing the closing documents was a delightful experience - yes, I said that - mainly due to the no pressure efforts of Lawson Davis. I don't mind being made aware of the additional warranties etc. but I don't want to see them on my bill and then have to remove them. None of that here! Brought My 2014 cts to have the 22000 oil change and what ever they do. I was told by a Cris that it was to late in the day because they close at noon on Saturday. I would think that any service in by 11:00 boulder be handled. I am sitting here typing this out and Cris still sitting there doing nothing. Bays are open and empty. I wish I could talk to a manager. If they are open they should take costumers. If not let the service department go home. Expecially individuals like Cris. Why pay them after 11:0/&0 on Saturday. Went February 1st to get my moms truck fixed. Made the appointment the day before for early in the morning just in case it would have taken long. I got set up with Jim he was direct and patient. The guy didn't waste any time. Once I arrived I told him about he problem. He got right to it, the guys who were going to fix it probably figured out the issue in 20 mins then but it probably took about an hour to be sure because I didn't exactly know myself what was wrong with it. I got a rental (which apparently was complimentary) but it was a 4 hour wait in total. I give this a 5 star experience for the fast work they did and the patience Jim was with me on figuring out what the issue was on my moms truck. read more

Taylor matos was amazing. Super easy car buying experience was honest with about everything and really helped us out when me and my wife we in a tough spot especially with a new baby on the way. J. B. Finance manager signed us and he was an awesome guy didn't try to push any extras on us. Car had very very very minor hail damage all the cars did due to a recent storm and I never even saw it. But they told us in signing and said they would fix it. Super nice and Super relaxed place never once felt pressure to do anything. My wife even loved both of them and she can't stand any salesman she meets. Great great great place to buy a car. I will drive from midland again to buy a car here again. Service not good, dropped my car off for diagnostic at 730 am, got told they would call with a qoute if anythibg was found....called at 1030 told they hadnt looked at the car and hopefully would soon and said i told you wed call you when it was looked at.....around 3pm i walk to get the car bc i needed it and yea they still hadn't looked at it and said its normally a day or two....well could have used that info at 730am that hey probably will not get to it today or atleast theres a possibility maybe you should get a rental.....looking for other places to get my car serviced as of now read more

If you are looking for good customer service from the service department look elsewhere. I dropped off my car for repair at 7:00am and never heard anything further no call nothing and at 5:00pm the same day they could not even locate my car or the service writer. I was even thinking of buying a new Chevy but God not now if that's how customers are treated. Folks go somewhere else for repairs and purchases. I know why everyone goes out of the city for repairs and purchases. Ford, Honda, Toyota looking better all the time. Chew on that. read more

I give the service at this dealership zero stars. I requested service for a malfunction light, specifically stating that the oil did not need to be changed. My son picked the car up for me and guess what....the light and the reason the light is on was not addressed. And they changed the oil. When I called to address the mistake, no one would admit a mistake was made and I got switched off to two different people before asking to speak with the manager. All while being on hold for quite some time between people. Probably so they could figure out how to cover their butts for the mistake. Thanks for zero help.
