HORRIBLE! No one called me. Despite our reservation until the 16th They sent our dogs to the shelter on the 15th. I called and the manager or owner was supposed to call me back. Law's is the best!!! The employees stayed past closing to wait for us to drop off our pups. I've taken my dog here in the past as well and they have always been great. They are so good to the dogs and pay close attention to instructions for the dogs as well. The employees are always happy and smiling! Overall just a great place to take your dogs! We've tried other boarding places around the area in the past and I was never comfortable leaving my dogs there. With laws, I know they are going to be given the best care. I never felt comfortable taking my one year old great Pyrenees anywhere else. We have had several bad experiences at other boarding places and we were a bit skeptical at first. Having bad experiences before, when I looked into laws ( which came highly recommend by several people ) - they comforted me and gave me a tour of the facility, they also met my concerns and listened to what had happened before and let me know how they would have handled things in that circumstance. Ever since, the staff recognizes Teddy and is very welcoming to us. Teddy seems excited upon arriving and I love the full report when I pick him up. I would highly recommend laws to anyone. My husband and I moved to the area a little over a year ago and immediately found Law's Country Kennel. And I'm so glad we did! We've left our boys Dallas and Chopper here a few times. Usually it's fine. But this time they were placed in separate kennels due to "overflow"? But they share a kennel... Dallas was placed with another customers cockapoo "cooper". Not Chopper... Chopper is having a medical issue right now so he needs to keep his onsie on and have medication. The onsie was placed on "Cooper" so chopper was left to lick his wound/problem area all day.. he has an infection (what the medication is for) which is due to his licking (hence the onsie!!!) I have no idea if chopper got his medicine this morning or the strange dog got it. Bill said chopper but didn't seem sure.. he NEEDS to have his medication! Upon pickup I learned of all of this when I was handed the incorrect dog! I had no idea if Chopper had been sent home with someone else or if he was safe. They should have never been separated and I don't understand why they can't simply check a name tag!! There are also pictures of our dogs on the customer portal. It's also not safe to separate dogs and place them with strange ones in a kennel overnight or any amount of time. I also sent extra food for both dogs (Choppers is a prescription) and Dallas's food bag was totally empty. Meaning they either gave Dallas way more food than instructed or were giving some to chopper, when he's not supposed to have that food due to stomach issue... Not reliable, not responsible and not safe. I spoke directly to Bill and all he had to say was "that's embarrassing " and "sorry!", didn't seem like this was an issue to them at all!! If you have a cockapoo named "Cooper" do not bring him back, he almost left with us. You might not get him back one day... there is no security at all. They can't even check a name tag. read more

I have used Law"s Country Kennel since 1991. In all that time I've had very few problems. The only one was a communication error, and it was resolved quickly. My dogs have enjoyed going there and come home happy, clean and in good shape. I've also used their pick up service which was invaluable when I had a travel issue. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, and the nature walks are great. I would not hesitate to recommend them. read more

Laws takes great care of our Weimaraner and German Shorthair while we are away! Laws has large kennels available, so both our dogs can share one , making it more affordable for us! Boarded my two dogs for the first time ever, the staff gave me a tour of the facility which was very clean! They encouraged us to bring the dogs out for doggie daycare before boarding so they could get acclimated to the process and we did. They do a great job of making us feel comfortable leaving the dog. They walked them and had yard time during their stay. They also bathed and trimmed their nails before they came home! I will definitely be going back! read more

Our Lacy loves Laws. She was a rescue with some issues but since going to Laws for doggy day care and occasional boarding she has really improved. I hate to be negative, but the reason I took my dogs to Law's was because of all the positive reviews. I felt I really needed to add my two cents even though it is negative. I left my two dogs for four days, June 2012. One dog came home with a bloody wound across her nose. They tried to say the completely submissive dog bit the other, as they were sharing the run. I know they don't know my dogs as I do, but that is NOT possible. Besides their personalities, the two have shared a cage every day while I'm at work for four years with no problems whatsoever. When I rejected their explanation, they insisted it couldn't be any other way. They seemed very aware and specific about denying any and all liability, to the point of rudeness, so forget an apology. (In case you're wondering, I was extremely polite and reasonable. When they said the Irish Setter bit the Beagle, I said, "Um, no." They said, Well, it couldn't have happened in the yard because someone is out there at all times. I said it was possible the beagle tested escape possibilities by sticking her nose under the fence and was injured in the process. They said it was clearly a bite puncture. I paid and left. They were obviously in CYA mode. I was not looking for anyone to blame or anyone to sue, just looking for a more reasonable explanation for my own mind, and possibly a bit of regret for the injury on their part.) The other dog was missing an inch of skin due to grooming. I understand this happens sometimes, however I have a problem with them not saying a word about it at pickup. Less important, but also indicative of less than the best business practices, the "freshly washed" bedding smelled so bad, I couldn't bring it into my house, like the beds had been left in the washer for a couple days. Had I read my own review before taking my dogs to Laws, it probably wouldn't have changed my actions. But let me just end with this. This business seems to be founded on the principle, "do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life." The problem is they love animals, not the chore of taking care of them. I would not recommend this business, and I will not be back. read more

Law's Country Kennel is fantastic. Bixby, our Portuguese water dog, spent time there while we were on vacation, and he came back happy, healthy and tired. I am so happy we found a place for our dogs, on average we go out of town about once a month. We have had our dogs stay at Laws four times now and are happy with the stay! We have two dogs and love that we get to have them stay in the same kennel. One of our pups has a pretty tough time away from us but after the fort stay he doesn't seem to mind too much when we drop him off. Our other dog is ECSTATIC to go stay, ha! We like that they have an outside area and indoor area for each kennel so the dogs have some freedom. It's also nice the dogs smell good when they come home. We will be sticking with Laws for future stays. read more

This is our second time around with Law's -- we took our first dog there for years and are now taking our 9-month old puppy there. Both times our dogs seem to be content and no problem taking them or picking them up. The kennel is usually full but that is a good thing for our new puppy to socialize. She gets to play with other dogs and has a nature walk if we request it. She comes home clean, healthy and tired which is a good thing. I know there is no place like home for our pets but this is a very nice alternative. Friendly staff who all seem to care and know our pets. We love Law's Country Kennel and so does our Yorkshire Terrier "Max". In fact, he gets so excited to see them that he practically breaks his leash running to get to their door. We have boarded him at Law's on several occasions over the past few years and we have never had any complaints. Our dog is always happy to return for a visit and that tells me that he is happy there. We have had great experiences with Law's Country Kennel and highly recommend them to friends! We have two dogs, a Pit mix (Daisy) and a Doberman (Zion). Deb and Bill (mother/son owners) and their staff do a wonderful job at making every dog feel at home and answer any questions you as owners might have. They graciously offered us a tour before Daisy and Zion's first stay. The kennel was very clean, smelled great, is climate controlled, and the dogs we saw looked happy to be there. Each kennel has an indoor and outdoor run, and you can take their favorite bed or blanket and toy to have during their stay. I wouldn't recommend letting them take their favorite toy. There are so many dogs and toys for the staff to keep track of- both times they took their bones, they didn't have them by the end of the stay. I assume they get mixed up during yard play? Daisy is a bit passive and unsure of new situations. It took her a couple visits to feel comfortable. Although she would be nervous and unsure walking in when we dropped them off, she would put her brakes on and try to hide behind daddy--- she can be QUITE the Drama Queen. But now, when we pull in the parking lot, she'll scream with excitement when she notices that we are at Law's, its ADORABLE and makes us feel good that she/they enjoy being there so much. Zion, our easy going Doberman has always loved staying at Laws and seems to enjoy his time there.The staff seems to love him too! He was even photographed for their website! Once he did come home with a little scratch on his foot. The staff brought it to our attention and said it was from the kennel space. His doberman fur is so short that he gets scratch easily, especially with the way he and Daisy rough house. We didn't make a big deal about it as dogs are dogs, they play rough, and get scratched and bumped up. If we board them for longer than a weekend, we'll get them a nature walk or two. It's a small additional fee, but I feel it is well worth it. A staff member will take each dog for a walk around the property and pond-- which is nestled in a country setting... making for a nice drive out there too! We feel its good for them to get away from the busy kennel atmosphere, get some fresh air, and exercise. If you plan to be a repeat customer, be sure to take advantage of The Kennel Club. There is an annual fee, but we travel often and it ends up being a money saver in the long run with the discounts on rates, services, etc. Drop off and pick up are well organized, especially during the busy season. If I drop them off alone, a staff member will usually offer to help walk them in. They get sooo excited when we arrive that containing it without the help of my husband is almost impossible. I'm usually in and out within 5-10 minutes, depending on how many add ons (baths, nail trims, nature walks, etc.) or other reservations I make. It would be less if I printed and filled out the registration form off their website before I took them in. We take their food from home in their overnight bag along with their favorite blankets and sometimes a toy/treats. They accept card and cash, but charge a few extra dollars for processing credit cards-- so we usually pay with cash to save a few dollars. Their boarding prices are very reasonable, and both dogs can share one kennel (which is also a money saver, as they charge per kennel- not per dog). When we pick Daisy and Zi up, the staff will meet us at our car with the doggies and give us their washed blankets--smelling fresh and clean-- and any leftover food. The dogs smell great when we pick them up, even when we don't have them bathed. I think they get a little spritz of doggie perfume before leaving. :-) Overall, we have had a wonderful experience with Law's. If you are looking for a good second home for your pet, please look into Law's as an option. We haven't used other kennels in the area, but when we first moved her a few years ago and asked around about kennels, "Law's Country Kennel" was who all of our friends recommended. And they were right on... Clean, animal lovers, personable, reasonable rates, and happy doggies! You can't ask for much more! Definitely check them out! read more

We have bringing our dachshund, Gabby, to Law's for about 6 months now. The staff is so friendly and always knows Gabby by name when she comes. We have been very comfortable leaving our husky mix at Law's. We tried one other place in the past and felt horrible leaving her and could tell she hadn't gotten as much attention as we were hoping for when we picked her up. I love the availability of the long walks (on the beautiful property) and playtime. Like a lot of people, our dog is more than just a pet, she's a family member. We are able to enjoy our time away more knowing she's in a caring, clean environment. They take care of her medication needs and don't have a problem with her special food preferences. On our last visit, I had inadvertently given them the wrong drop off and pick up dates. After they warmly greeted us with a puzzled smile, they took care of us quickly and we were on our way. Law's Country Kennel is fabulous. We have been bringing our toy maltese there for a couple years. They offer yard plays and walks so our dog is not sitting in a kennel all day. They are loving and care about the pets. We recommend them to all of our friends and family! The only downside is that they have specific pick-up and drop-off hours which can be difficult to coordinate with flights or travel plans. read more

During a recent stay, both of our dogs came home with kennel cough AND injury to one of my dog's after he was mishandled during grooming and left lying on the floor injured for two days until we returned to pick him up (admitted to us by the owner herself).
