A company vehicle was returned to us with a stripped drain plug and an active oil leak after service. That's not a minor oversight--that's a fundamental failure. Soon after, I requested a quote for front brakes only on a 2021 Hyundai Palisade and was given an estimate of roughly $1,600. I sourced a complete upgraded brake set myself for $397 and completed the job without issue. Draw your own conclusions from that gap. Most recently, I brought in my wife's Subaru for tires, an oil change, and a noise diagnosis. The tires were installed, but the oil change and diagnostic were completely missed. I was told it "wasn't on the work order" and asked to bring the car back. That's a basic process failure. After returning the vehicle, I was told the issue was front wheel bearings and advised to replace both--quoted at approximately $1,000. I purchased the parts myself for $178, and standard labor time for this job is widely understood to be around 1.5 hours per side. When I asked for a clear breakdown of how that estimate was calculated--parts, labor hours, and rate--I was told their system could not provide that level of detail. That answer alone is concerning. If a shop can't explain how a four-figure repair is priced, that's a problem. My son's civic was overheating so I brought it into Route 11 to get checked out. I let them know…read morespecifically what diagnostics had been run at a previous shop before my son left for JMU, but they said they had to run (and charge) for their own diagnostics. I get that, so I agreed with the assumption they could resolve the issue. After review, they advised me the wrong coolant was in the car (which I have trouble believing because I've always bought the same coolant and never had an issue), they advised a coolant flush was needed, they said the fans were not working, and they let me know that there was an unrelated power steering leak. Additionally, they recommended I replace the upper and lower radiator hose. They said these were not an issue, but it was probably about time. I agreed to let them do everything except the upper and lower hose being they said they were fine and not leaking. I also agreed to a dye test which included putting dye in the power steering so they could find a leak. All of this was to the tune of roughly $1,000. A few days later they said it was ready and my son picked it up. I asked him what they said about the dye test and he said they did not say anything about. I called the shop and was told, oh yeah, he should bring it back in a few days so we can see if the dye is leaking. Unfortunately, I only found out about this because I called back in. Then a few days later the car was overheating again. My son takes it back and we are told the issue is the upper and lower radiator hoses. I asked how they were fine a few days ago when they were just a "recommendations" (that I declined), but now they are the root cause of the issue. They told me they watched it and now they see after it's been on a long time the hoses swell and leak. The explanation did not sit right with me, but I'm hours away and my 18 year old son needs his car so I let them do it for another $350. However, unfortunately again, my son drives 4 hours home a few days later and the car overheats. The shop texted me and called me that day asking how it was going and wanting me to come back and get some other work done. I responded it wasn't going well and the car was overheating still. I sent them photos of the coolant under the hood, but they stopped responding. I took it to a shop locally and they diagnosed it as a bad thermostat and the car has run smooth since. I wanted to like this shop as my brother recommended them, but unfortunately I cannot recommend them as the customer service is lacking. I'd advise to find a different shop for your car repairs.

had an oil leak on my lexus, brought it in for new valve cover, lady at the front desk insisted i…read moreneeded new spark plugs despite them operating perfectly fine. i told her not to just go ahead and install them but to wait for the technician to address if it was necessary in the first place and to call me before i gave them the greenlight to install an additional $112 worth of parts (likely an additional $100 at least in labor costs for a 6 cylinder like this). they did not call me at all until the job had been completed, completely disregarded my request and proceeding to charge me for it. not only that but when i arrived to pick up the car the had added an array of additional charges and labor charges to the itemized receipt, including a charge for tightening ALTERNATOR bolts, new coolant hosing, and new bolts from apparently cross threading (this car has only been worked on professionally). some of these charges had absolutely nothing to do with the maintenance i had brought the car in for. the validity of these charges comes off to me as a predatory means of squeezing more money out of customers (something the auto mechanic world is infamous for). based on principle alone i cant stand for this and I wont be returning

Gene, went above and beyond to save me money on replacing the back axle of jeep (that I no longer have but dearly miss). Donna, is incredible and what a lot people fail to realize, this lady does the clerical work and jumps in to help out in the garage, I have seen people team her over coals - not knowing that she is busting her tail, just as much as a man does. I like to consider myself, an honest person and going after someone as hard working as her - really sets me on fire!! These people bust their hard-working tails off to provide the best auto service in the City of Waynesboro, so show them respect please. This is not pointed to everyone, just those (I don't know other customers may be going through - but an ounce of kindness is good for the soul).
