New convenient option for commuting toward the LAX area and getting to the airport. Very clean and sterile new building. Very pleasant to enter and exit this location. Shuttles to LAX are in service and run frequently. It's well maintained and feels very safe with lots of Metro staff on hand to assist you as the center gradually becomes busy. Looking forward to when a rail system connects in the future.

With the Cad to USD exchange rate being so high, I wanted to save a few bucks taking the transit vs to taking Uber. The transit to San Pedro is 1.75 one way and if I chose to take the Uber instead, it would have costed me around $100. If I add on the exchange rate it would be $150 cad. The transit doesn't come frequent but for that price no complain. Expect to wait for 20 to 30 mins during the day time and at night it can be an hour wait.

Took advantage of the FREE metro transit over the weekend to come by and visit this new station. It is going to be a great opportunity for Angelinos and visitors to experience LAX in a much better way. The place is beautiful; of course, it's brand new and they had plenty of people in orange vests directing and answering questions. As of now, they have free shuttles that will take you to and from the airport. Eventually [2026] there will be a tram going from this station to the airport. So next time you want to pick someone up at the airport, have them take the shuttle [tram in 2026] to this station and pick them up here without the hassle of that crazy LAX traffic. On Friday I took my daughter to the airport to go visit her friend in NC and there was no traffic from home until we got to the airport. Once there, cars are crowding in trying to weave in and out of pick up locations, avoid buses, etc. I had plenty of time but the stress of other drivers changing lanes can make it difficult. This eliminates the hard part.

After you pick up your bags from baggage claim then walk outside and you will find This bright PINK pillar. Stand there!! The bus operates every 10 minutes or so. The bus is FREE!!!!!! I waited about 2 minutes. Hopped on! And waited for the bus driver to stop at a few more stops along LAX terminal. Once you get to the transit center, the bus drops you right in front and you are greeted with sooooo many metro workers that are happy to assist you. You can't get lost!!!!!! There's so many workers wearing a bright neon vest. You can download the TAP app or purchase your metro fare. The metro fare is $1.75!!! There were many workers cleaning and maintaining the new station at LAX! Hope they'll continue to keep it clean. First time riding the metro and it was so easy! The metro operates every 10 minutes! It was clean, safe, and very easy to use!! I would definitely use it again!! Hope there are more users!!

I take the bus sometimes with my bicycle(or other way around)and it's a great combo. I'll bike the strand and at night take the bus back to my place. Bus drivers in LA do a good job and I am not a big fan of government employees but bus drivers are an exception. The old transit center was too dark and sketchy with not enough security. The new one is a big improvement. There is alot of security and the center is well lit, organized and the buses are on time. After biking all day in Santa Monica, I took the 3 bus(with my bicycle on the front rack)to the new transit center and waited about a half hour, then switched to an LA city bus. There's always some sketchy riders but the security was good and everything is well lit. A plus would be if a computer announced bus arrivals and which bays they're at.

Grand opening of the NEW LAX Metro Transit Center on Friday June 6, 2025, taking us one step closer to connecting LAX to the rest of Los Angeles County without taking a bus (which is at the whim of LAX's notorious traffic). To celebrate, LA Metro rides were free for the whole weekend. Figured I should take advantage, so used various methods to get around the system on a Saturday, trying to figure out what's changed...definitely not the most efficient use of time, it was definitely more about the journey than the destination. 1. Before late last year, there were multiple ways to finish the last leg to the airport terminals from mass transit. a) The LAX City Bus Center was a stop on all transit buses (like BBB 3 from downtown Santa Monica and 232 from downtown Long Beach), and a hybrid employee lot/bus shuttle would take you between it and the terminals (it was also walkable, though long). It was confusing to catch it from the terminals and often packed without luggage racks. b) Aviation/Imperial light rail station (formerly Aviation/LAX on Jun 4, 2025; formerly Aviation/Imperial on 2003). This is a stop on the Metro C line, and was the best way to connect to the airport terminals from the light rail system. The mass transit buses that stopped at LAX City Bus Center would also stop here as well (sometimes having too many choices is confusing). There was a dedicated shuttle taking you to the terminals, but it didn't run enough. This shuttle was supposed to be the only one MARKED as Metro from the terminals, but not always. This was the route that Metro pushed as the way to connect LAX to its system, and it was quite simply a pathetic solution for a world class airport/city. 2. On Nov 2024, Aviation/Century light rail station opened, connecting Line C with Line K, confusing things even more. c). It's a small station, with no bus bays. But those bus/shuttle drivers already stopping at LAX City and Aviation/LAX need to stop by to pick up/drop off folks on the STREET (different side depending on direction). This makes sense since it would be difficult to catch the right bus from the airport...so the solution: just add this stop to the same route....making it slower for everybody. What I don't understand is the need for this station at all. 3. With the opening of the LAX/Metro Transit Station, things get cleaned up (which is why this is a 5 star review). Everything gets routed to it now. a. LAX City Bus Center gets completely replaced by it. b. Aviation/Imperial (formerly Aviation/LAX) loses its shuttle from the terminals. But it is still a stop for the buses and of course the C Line. c. Aviation/Century loses it shuttle as well. 4. When the elevated train from the airport terminals (People Mover) to LAX/Metro is operational, the shuttle becomes redundant. But it might remain (according to an employee I was talking to). A lot of 'temporary' solutions over the decades... The station itself is huge and so well organized: it is not comparable to any other Metro station and is something to be proud of to LA visitors. 1. 14 bus bays with digital screens showing which bus goes to which bay. Some communities served include Beach Cities, Santa Monica, Culver City, Long Beach, Torrance. Thinking this station is the terminus so don't need to worry about which direction the bus is going. 2. There is a huge upper floor, with (working and clean) escalators and elevators on both side. It is divided into two sections, separated by toll gates. This is where the future elevated train from the terminals will exit (land side) and where the elevators and escalators to the ground train tracks exist (track side). The gates use the new modern head to foot glass gliding doors: they were all wide open this day. 3. Went inside a Metro bathroom for the first time. It was clean (for now) 4. There were a ton of 'people on the job'. I had a chance to ask some questions and they confirmed that the shuttles to the other choices have ceased. They also would not commit to a 2026 opening of the People Mover (pretty sure that was coached). Security was there as well, along with Metro administrators. I took the shuttle to the terminals to see if that's changed. Nope. Exactly the same as before: really long wait times, super crowded with both airport employees and travelers, very difficult to maneuver with luggage, bus drivers skipping terminal stops once bus is full but not recognizing people need to get off, at the mercy of LAX traffic (i.e. it takes a long time). LAX/Metro station opening also provided a full connection between the C and E lines (via the K line)...so took the long way home to Long Beach, but got the chance to check out a few more Metro stations for the first time. It was a full day (with some interesting fellow passenger interactions, which I am accustomed). I'm excited and have confidence: will definitely update this when (not if) the people-mover opens sometime next year.

this is the public transportation that los Angeles needed years ago and i'm so happy just looking at it! it's super clean and easy to navigate and the shuttle buses come every 7-10 minutes ish

Looking good out here at LAX/Metro Transit Center.

It was my absolute first time here at the LAX/Metro Transit Center. Amazing! This place totally exceeded my expectations. We took the free M shuttle bus from LAX and stopped here to catch the $1 bus ride/number 6 southbound Torrance. We also took the $1 bus ride/number 8 northbound Torrance to get back to LAX/Metro Transit Center before returning to LAX. Schedules were on-time/nice! Safe and smooth rides. Security guards and employees were onsite to help locals passing by. Nothing ghetto. It really does feel safe here. Public restrooms are available. Great way to connect to your next destination via LAX public transportation system. I like the spacious and modern design of the area. You can easily take the metro to other parts of the region. Los Angeles really impressed me with this new project. Easy access/clean/organized/well staffed/good design. Employees were all very helpful. We will be returning to take more public transportation rides next time. Can't beat the $1 one way bus rides during inflationary times. Worth visiting.

A lovely view of the new transit center, which will be relocated to Aviation/Arbor Vitae. Progress as of Christmas 2024.

We will be getting a new transit center in a month or two (hopefully). I am really excited about the change. After six years with the temporary bus station, buses that serve the LAX City Bus Center and the Aviation/LAX C Line Station (soon to be Aviation/Imperial) will be merged to the new LAX/Metro Transit Center on Aviation and Arbor Vitae. I am really excited.

Along with the Green Line's Aviation/LAX Station, LAX Transit Center serves as the public transportation gateway to and from Los Angeles International Airport. To get here from LAX, catch the free LAX Lot C shuttle bus on the arrivals level of the terminal you arrive at. If you see this bus on the departures level, they won't let you on. You have to catch the bus downstairs. The LAX Lot C bus drops you off across the street from the LAX Transit Center. This hub offers bus service from 5 different public transportation agencies (Beach Cities Transit, Big Blue Bus, Culver City Transit, Metro and Torrance Transit). The waiting areas are covered with benches to sit in, but the station is open air. There aren't any restroom facilities here, though there are in the adjoining parking lot in the building fronting the shuttle back to LAX. The transit center during the day is okay. Though I am not sure how I would feel taking a bus here late at night. There are your usual big city sketchy characters riding the bus. Basically you should try to keep to yourself and avoid lounging around here for too long. Take your bus and go.

The parking (especially from Redondo Beach) is easy, safe and FREE. It's so convenient. The station and the route feels friendly, safe and clean. As the train progresses towards THE BLUE LINE it gets increasingly more urban with lower socio-economic demographics however. You don't see many non-ethnic people on the MTA... a.k.a. The Minority Transportation Association. If you're taking the Green Line to then transfer to the Blue Line, as many people do to go to Downtown or extend to the Red Line, just be careful. Plan ahead, know where you need to transfer and where you need to get off and get on (as well as what direction you're going, so you don't jump on the wrong train going the opposite direction). Don't wait for the train at the edge of the platform. In addition to all of the dust that's kicked up, all it takes is one crazy person to push you down into the tracks and you're done. The Blue Line takes you on a tour of LA's not so great neighborhoods, and the passengers can be quirky, sketchy and odd at times where you might feel uncomfortable. Just keep to yourself, don't look like a victim and only travel during daylight hours and you'll be safe. Traveling with a companion or group is always good.
