This is a cute cafe in the Little India area serving up brunch made with local/Canadian ingredients. As their name suggests, there's daisies throughout their restaurants. I personally really enjoy their buttermilk biscuits and therefore always go for their sandwiches. I tried the Son of a Rise and Rise 'N' Shine. They're the perfect portion and definitely makes a great meal. Be prepared to wait a bit for a table. The times I've visited, the wait was between 10 minutes to half an hour which isn't bad. There's also plenty of free and paid street parking in the area. There's also shops in the area for you to kill time while you wait for a table. read more

Came by for Sunday brunch and was surprised to see it was already packed with people at 10am! I ordered the lavender latte which was so soothing and delicious on a cold winter day. We tried the cinnamon bun pancake and biscuits and gravy. The cinnamon bun pancake was fluffy and not too sweet. The biscuits and gravy however were bland. I have not tried this dish before but I felt like it needed more flavour. The service felt very rushed unfortunately. We also were not instructed how to use the machine when we tried tapping with our card. Turns out the tip had to be manually entered. Anyway, it is a popular spot for brunch with decent items. Finally got to this great little cafe at Gerrard and Coxwell. And yes! the biscuits are as good as everyone says! We went at opening and it got quite busy quickly with lots of families with very young children checking out pancakes and breakfast sandwiches. If you are looking for a quiet bite, this likely isn't the place for you, at least not early. This place has the distinction of being one of the few places around to serve country sausage gravy with biscuits. The full meal comes with eggs and tomatoes too. And every bit as wonderful as you would expect Also all their ingredients are local, or organic or Mennonite. Wonderful. Hubby had the Standard (eggs, bacon, home fries and sourdough toast). Finally made it to this place for breakfast. Close to 9 am their awesome patio was practically empty. I'm sure it will fill up soon. We ordered coffees to start. Good but strong. Was never offered a refill which was disappointing. We both ordered the breakfast burrito. Mine with mushrooms and my husbands with the chorizo. I loved mine. Just the right amount of everything. My husband found his too salty but nothing a good dash of hot sauce won't fix. I was disappointed there was no side with it. Would have made it more of a meal. Cute decor and delicious food. The service was okay, but a bit slow. I started with a chai latte that came out with a pretty cinnamon daisy on top. The latte itself was flavourful and frothy. I then ordered the standard breakfast with sourdough bread, Mennonite bacon, and two eggs over hard. The eggs came back over medium, still very runny yolks. I didn't have the chance to complain as the server didn't return to the table until we were finished eating. I also ordered a side roasted garlic & Asiago buttermilk biscuit. The biscuit was absolutely amazing. The best biscuit I've ever had, hands down. The butter was perfect and the Asiago cheese added a nice touch. My friend ordered the cinnamon bun pancakes and said that they were delicious. I will definitely need to return to try them myself! Lazy Daisy's is a great brunch spot located in the Beaches area. I tried their Mothercluckin Sandwich which came with a salad on the side and I enjoyed both the sandwich and the salad. If you're coming here for the pancakes ,you will be highly satisfied. They are SO good !! My kids got the chocolate chip banana pancakes, and I got the cinnamon pancakes with cream cheese on top and a strawberry on the side. They were both incredible. Their coffee is actually pretty darn good too, and you all know me I'm at Timmy Ho's girl. I don't usually drink any other coffee, then Tim Hortons but how much to my surprise this place has pretty good coffee .I can actually drink it. And thanks to being a "Yelpie /Yelper" I got a free large one just for checking in. I also got the standard breakfast which I believe came with two eggs ,two pieces of yummy toast, and three slices of bacon . I'm not big on bacon, so I let my boys each have one and I just had one. It was good. The eggs were not light and fluffy. They were pretty flat and bland. The toast that was very good. I got the multigrain instead of the sourdough toast, and it was very very good. So unfortunately, I would not get the eggs again but as far as the pancakes, heck yeah I would get them And coffee. It was definitely over priced by a lot. I didn't get a chance to take pictures of the whole menu, Unfortunately, she took them away too fast. But you can see my receipt in my pictures I posted and it came to $90 plus in Canadian money, which was $77 in American money. For that amount of food, and the fact that the eggs were not very good at all, and I got a very small portion. It definitely was not worth it. But I would come back like I said for the delicious pancakes. So, if you're a pancake lover, I highly recommend Lazy Daisy's Cafe. The waitresses were nice too, but very slow workers. Lazy Daisy's Café is absolutely worth the hype--the food is incredible! The breakfast sandwich was easily the best I've ever had, and I can see why people are willing to wait. That said, the wait experience could use some improvement. We were told it would be a 35-minute wait, so we settled in patiently. After 45 minutes, I checked in and was told it would just be a little longer. At the one-hour mark, I followed up again, only to find out they had called the wrong number (even though I gave the correct one). They seated us quickly after that, but it was a bit frustrating to wait longer than expected due to a mix-up. Once seated, the service was okay, but there were some hiccups--our food came out before drinks, no one offered coffee refills, and we had to ask for the bill at the end. On a positive note, the café is very kid-friendly (a big plus!), though the bathroom being downstairs might be inconvenient for families. Despite the bumps, the food was absolutely worth the wait. If you go, just plan for a potentially long wait and stay on top of check-ins! It's a small price to pay for such amazing food. read more

Cute place! We visited on a Saturday morning and beat the rush (around 11am). We only waited ~10 minutes for a table. We ordered the #1 breakfast sandwich, the buttermilk pancakes, and the club sandwich with fries. To drink, I ordered a gingerbread latte and my boyfriend ordered a chai latte. There was a rubber band in my latte, and they quickly replaced it with a new drink. I'd still come here again, really cute and open space with many tables and room at the bar by the window sill. I was at a biscuit tasting event last time I was at Lazy Daisy's and I had a very good experience. They served fantastic biscuits that I took home to my partner. We both fell in love with the biscuits at Lazy Daisy's and vowed to come back one day to try their famous breakfast sandwiches. An opportunity presented itself this week and we made the trek down to Lazy Daisy's and ordered their breakfast sandwiches to go with some coffee. It was amazing (why am I even surprised?) we would even go as far as to say best breakfast sandwich in Toronto? Even the coffee was great--not the usual diluted milk foam that cafes are so fond of serving these days. Lazy Daisy's is so good in fact, my partner and I briefly entertained the idea of moving to the neighborhood just so we can frequent the cafe. Not to mention, Dawn who owns the cafe, is super nice. My partner and I had a fabulous Saturday brunch at Lazy Daisy's café. We ordered the rise n' fry and the standard with a buttermilk pancake on the side. Every component of the rise n' fry was perfect! The fried chicken was perfectly golden and so so juicy on the inside. The Jalapeno biscuit was delicious, soft and buttery. The buttered sourdough toast on the standard plate was flavorful, and the pancake was perfectly fluffy. The place is also charming, bright and wonderfully decorated. But this occasion I was especially gutted because chicken, which was the star of the show on so many of their items were sold out. If you check the pics of the fried chicken breakfast sandwiches, it looks unreal... so sad Instead we had: Son of a Rise: This was a pretty basic breakfast sandwich with eggs, bacon, avocado, tomato on a buttermilk biscuit. The biscuits were good (I'm not a huge fan of biscuits but these were very buttery but quite dense) Daisy's Mac N Cheese Grilled Cheese: This had lots of flavor, the crust was crispy but mac and cheese was super ooey and gooey and super cheesy. LDC has been recommended by multiple people but we just didn't find the right time. Today was the day! A little "busier" than most brunch places, this is more of a help yourself brunch. You seat yourself and then order from the counter. The flow of the set up is a bit peculiar - you order near the back of the restaurant but picking up your drinks is at the front; which creates some trouble when their lineup starts queuing up. Upon ordering, you're given a number and your orders are brought to your table. I saw some of the servers looking a little stressed when they're holding multiple plates and couldn't find "their" number. It's not much of a "let's sit and chat for a while" brunch spot as the turnover rate is quite high as people waiting basically hover. Anyway, enough of the set up. The hubby definitely wanted a handmade biscuit and I wanted to try the pancakes. Obviously we split the two and the biscuit sandwich was super yummy. The combine was pretty basic, though their Mennonite bacon deserves a strong shoutout. Pilot coffee (light or dark roast) is what they serve which is so nice to see LDC supporting other local options. I'd probably come back for other sandwich options but I'd probably pass on the combine. Oh, and beware, we left smelly a little greasier than we had arrived. The service is 2/5 . We had to wipe our own table. It was sticky from the maple syrup. My coffee - a flat white - was, well, ugly. And bitter. Also, too small for the price. The server was not remotely even trying to appreciate our business; she wasn't rude, but she wasn't outstanding. Apparently the food is good, but I didn't have any. Last thing: the ketchup bottle. It was a real turn off. And the top was caked enough with old ketchup that I knew it wasn't from one day. Since the food has a good review, and I didn't have any, I'd be prepared to return for that. Lazy Daisy's Cafe is this amazing spot in the east end of Toronto that specializes in some of the best breakfast sandwiches & pancakes you'll eat. Some of the items I got included: Cinnamon Bun Pancake (unbelievable!), Mother Clucker (Fried Chicken), Son of a Rise Breakfast Sandwich, Hungry Farmer (the fathers club on a buttermilk biscuit), breakfast Burrito, and orange juice. They also have a general store where you can get your essentials that we all need right now. Some of their products include: bread, buttermilk biscuits, dairy, juice, coffee, tea, produce, pantry items, and so much more! What I truly came here for was their delicious breakfast sandwiches and pancakes... Came here for brunch on a holiday Monday. It was busy but we were able to get a table (we came around 11am). The daisy themed decor was so cute and definitely photo worthy. Server was nice and knowledgeable. Food came out quick and was very good. The cinnamon bun pancakes were fun (I got the short stack because though yummy they were very sweet). The son-of-a-rise was also very good - I recommend adding the garlic mayo! Also the bacon was cooked to perfection. Drinks were also good - I got the flat white, though expensive for a small cup was delicious. Overall came to about 65 (before tax/tips) for three entrees and 3 drinks. Everything was delicious except the chicken was not as tasty as I had hoped. It was very crispy which would have been great except when you cut into it, everything fell off so it wasn't a part of the chicken anymore. The portion was a bit small for fried chicken (though it's deceiving in the pic, it was mostly batter) but the rest of the meal made up for it. The biscuit was by far the best thing ever... I am someone who has a child. A two year old boy, to be exact. So when I heard about Leslieville's Lazy Daisy's as being voted #1 Best Kid-Friendly Restaurant 2018 by NOW Toronto, I was like "take me there now." They are also known for having an incredibly good breakfast sandwich. If you ask me, this all adds up to a haven for parents who still want to visit great places to eat - even with a tiny child in tow. The idea at Lazy Daisy's is to bring the spirit of the farm to the community in the city. This means farm fresh vegetables, locally sourced and seasonal, the meats naturally raised, drug & hormone free, and pastries all handmade with only the finest ingredients. I was very much looking forward to visiting them on a Sunday morning. Located in a super cute and hip area, surrounded by super cute and hip businesses, Lazy Daisy's Café is adorable right from the start. The entire vibe is "rustic barnwood chic" which pairs perfectly with everything that they believe in. The large space is bright and lively, the teal walls feel joyful while the exposed brick and distressed wood keeps things very down-to-earth. My eyes immediately searched for evidence of a kid-friendly room and I instantly found what I was looking for; plenty of highchairs, tons of toys and books, and the pièce de résistance? A full Thomas wooden railway table near the back of the restaurant. My son was in instant heaven. Their large counter serves as a viewing area for all of their fresh baking and is also where you go to place your order. There are several chalkboard menus to peruse, offering lots of breakfast options and also plenty of choices for lunch. You'll also find a great kid's menu, of course. I noticed one of those machines that makes fresh-squeezed orange juice, and while I'm partial to a chai latte, I couldn't refuse a glass of Fresh OJ ($5.75). Available in tree sizes, I took a medium. Can't go wrong with this sweet, sweet freshness! It makes orange juice from a carton look silly. One small issue is that my mason jar had a chip in the glass and I had to avoid sipping from the sharp edge. I realize that I could have returned my glass for a different one but I didn't bother. Once your order is placed, you are given a number to place on your table. You are free to seat yourself wherever you want. We sat next to the train table, of course, which was ideal. My son played happily while the adults were able to sit and relax with our food and beverages. I can't think of anything better for a parent! Lazy Daisy's serves a brunch menu on the weekends which is a bit more involved compared to their weekday menu. You'll find everything from pancakes to quiche to sandwiches and more. I gravitated to the breakfast sandwiches since they sounded great and I'd heard good things. There wasn't much question that the Son-of-a-Rise (Best of both Rises! Free-run egg, cheddar & Mennonite smoked bacon, avocado & tomato on a homemade buttery country biscuit. - $9.95) was the sando for me. After a reasonable wait, my breakfast sandwich arrived. My sando sat, simple and beautiful, waiting for me to dive in. I did just that, enjoying each and every bite! All of the classic breakfast flavours of bacon (nice and crisp!) and eggs worked together in perfect harmony. The cheddar brought some much-desired melty sharpness. And the avocado and tomato added a bright freshness. The biggest surprise for me was the country biscuit. I usually shy away from a biscuit-type situation, as I usually find them way too dense and bready, taking away from the other ingredients. Not so in this case. This homemade country biscuit was incredibly buttery and delicious. Yes, it still had the denseness of a biscuit but in this case it complimented the other ingredients to create something truly delicious. Each table in the restaurant is adorned with a bottle of Cholula hot sauce, which I used to dip my 'wich into for a bit of added kick. I could eat this sandwich every day. I will certainly return to Lazy Daisy's Café. The food was delicious and I actually got to blissfully enjoy eating while my son was completely preoccupied. I absolutely love their farm fresh, local and all natural vibe. Obviously this is the kind of food that I prefer that my family eats. I really liked that there's a sign on the wall that shows exactly where all of the farms are located that their products come from. They've got a B.L.T. sandwich on the menu that I'd love to try. My only caution would be to non-parents. If you're not into the "family scene" this may not be the place for you. Many families flock to this cafe and you should expect to be eating among them. This place is the real deal and it starts with the way Dawn, the owner, makes all the staff own what they are doing and serving. Personally I am addicted to the ham and green onion biscuits. They are amazing. You can just eat them without adding anything. They are moist and full of flavour. This morning I had the Mother Clucker. The chicken here is moist and the batter is crunchy!
