The portions here are huge! For Dad's Big Breakfast, you can definitely share between 2 people. It's only $22 and you get a lot of food. We also got the Burger Benny ($19) but I would say for $3 more Dad's Big Breakfast is a better deal, especially if you split it with another person. The Burger Benny was ok. I wasn't a huge fan of the meat in it. But, Dad's Big Breakfast I enjoyed more. The potatoes are yummy. Everything else is pretty standard. Nothing to rave about, but I did enjoy it. Service was also really good and the workers there are very friendly. I would recommend this place if you're looking for a decent breakfast place. But, if you're looking for elevated breakfast dishes, this isn't the place for that. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Eggs Benedict and Ramona's Kitchen has a wide variety to choose from. Not only do they have a large selection of Bennys, they have a large selection of everything! It was actually really hard to decide what to have for brunch because everything looked delicious. Watching the tables around us being served their food made it almost impossible to select just one thing. Almost! My friend and I both got a Benny - I had the crab cake Benny (with added avocado) and she chose the avocado and grilled tomato Benny. Both were served with home fries and salad. The tri-coloured potatoes were crispy and well seasoned, which I have been missing at a lot of other places that serve home fries - they almost always end up being kind of soft. I would come back just for these! The eggs were a little overcooked for me, but still slightly runny so not the end of the world. I loved the crab cakes and the hollandaise sauce was really nice. Extra points for great coffee, too. The restaurant gets really busy so you might want to go early to get a table or be prepared for a bit of a wait. We opted to sit in the back, which apparently has a roof that opens up in the warmer months. It was a bit chilly last weekend despite the heaters, so I'd definitely bring an extra layer if you sit out there. Service was a little slow but it seemed like they had some new staff who were still getting their bearings so no complaints there. The hostess, Gail, was absolutely lovely and so friendly. Ambiance : we sat in a heated back room. It was cozy but I did sit on my coat cause the chair was cold. Otherwise it was all good We did wait a bit outside to get in but by the time we finished the place had seats so likely busier in the morning but if you brunch it later you'll likely get a seat right away. Ramona's Kitchen has perhaps Toronto's widest variety of Eggs Benedicts. The best part is that the two we tasted, the Schnitzel Benny and Crab Cake Benny were exceptional. Will be back to taste the other 9 bennys. The breakfast bowl was also a pleaser with 3 poached eggs, smoked salmon and greens. Beyond the bennys the menu for brunch and lunch is very enticing. Definitely will need to come back for Chicken waffles, Challah French Toast and double chocolate pancakes. Service was good, restaurant small but very clean and comfortable, portions generous and prices while on the higher side not unreasonable. coffee was better priced than some of the other places recently visited. We ordered the Dad's Breakfast (which I had Peameal Bacon, turkey bacon, sourdough toast, scrambled eggs and strawberry French toast), Greek Omelette, Fish Sandwich, Fish & Chips, and Banana bread French toast. The two breakfast plates came with Home fries and mixed greens. The crisp homefries melted in my mouth! I didn't know what to expect with the Peameal Bacon (first time trying). It was a mix between ham and a thinly sliced pork chop.... Absolutely delicious!!! Even the coffee was amazing. The server was friendly and our food came out quickly. Incredible food! I ate here once and ordered to go three times. All times the food was 10/10. I ate with a large group of 12 people plus 4 kids. All of us very were pleased with our meals. Looking for a quick lunch stop on Bayview and tried this place. Small interior restaurant space. Menu offers brunch, breakfast and lunch items. They don't do substitutions for side items. We tried the salmon plate no mashed potatoes with kale salad, turkey burger, vanilla milkshake. Tumeric latte was interesting. Salmon plate was nicely done. On Family Day, we decided to go a bit far for our brunch. Searched in Yelp and we picked this tiny restaurant. We always love that neighborhood. There were so many new brunch locations added into the mix in the last couple of years, of course, some went out of business. We ordered Crab cake Benny and Avocado omelet. Both were of big portion. Surprised that the potatoes were of different types. Baked but not overcooked. The other impressed side was the mixed green. The vinaigrette was so delicious. The Avocado omelet was very good. The Crab cake was a bit mushy inside but that good size shrimp was another surprise. The hollandaise sauce was good too. I wanted to treat a friend to lunch and we decided to peruse his neighbourhood, Leaside. We came across this location of Ramona's Kitchen which he had not been to before. Neither of us had eaten at this franchise/chain before, but we had both heard about it, so we decided to eat here. It was a beautiful late summer day and we were given the option of eating outside on one of their patio tables. We declined, since the wasps are brutal this time of year. Once inside, we were to be seated at a rather awkward 2-person table up against the cooking area, rather in the aisle. Not only did I find the seating small and awkward, but the flames coming off the grill were physically palpable. I asked if we could move and we went over to one of the tables made up of 2 small tables pushed together along the side wall. I'd have been okay (if restricted) if the 1 small 2-person table were there but I would have been far less comfortable the whole time, and there was at least one other couple seated at such an arrangement so I wasn't going to let myself feel bad if another party of more than 2 people came in. At least my purse didn't have to go on the floor or swing awkwardly off my chair. We were promptly given menus and offered water. It was depleted rather quickly and replenished with the glass bottles you see in Europe. I would have liked a decaf since it was well into the afternoon but they only had an Americano version so I opted for some hot water and lemon, which was indeed hot and lemony. For our food, we both went for the chicken waffle as neither of us had had that before either and both wanted to try. The food didn't take too long, although one order came out a few minutes before the other. The portions are very generous. The waffle was topped with 2 different slices of cheese, the chicken cutlet set on top, and a seasoned, poached egg on top of the cutlet. We were given 2 sides of sauces, one was a standard BBQ sauce and the other was syrup. I hesitate to say maple syrup because it had a far less sweet, sort of molasses taste to it. It was also a lot thicker than the maple syrups I've had before. For some reason the BBQ sauces were barely half filled. I went through most of my meal before it ran out so I didn't bother asking for more. The egg and the chicken were great. The egg was not overcooked and the chicken was well done but not too dry. I couldn't really pick up the taste of the cheese with all the other food going on. The waffle was lost on me. It was not the fluffy, chewy texture I was wanting; rather, it was crispy and flaky almost all the way through. The texture and the syrup made it disappointing for me and I left a lot of it behind, although I could appreciate that it wasn't exactly bad and maybe others like it that way. I definitely finished that egg and chicken! My friend finished all of his. The bill for our 2 chicken waffle orders and my lemon water came to $50 with taxes but before tip. The tipping options on the electronic payment machine start at 18% (which as usual is calculated after taxes are added.) The service was great so I didn't bother manually calculating what I want to leave as I often do elsewhere. The servers were pleasant and attentive without being overbearing throughout. The crowd thinned as we dined and we were not at all rushed to leave. We used the bathroom before we did leave and it was clean, spacious and actually cute with lots of little humourous plaques on the walls. It's a convenient option for mornings when you don't feel like cooking.
