Before we departed he bought us espressos that we drank together at the counter like locals. We visited two beautiful vineyards/wineries with tastings of a nice variety of red and white (and one "green"!) wines. Our guides were knowledgeable and friendly. We also stopped into Óbidos for a little stroll and lunch. He bought us some traditional chorizo bread on a little whim. Lunch had a nice atmosphere and good service, but the prices were drastically higher than other places we ate on our trip, and the food was a bit plain. This was only a small blemish on an otherwise outstanding day. We would gladly rebook something with Armando on a return visit!

We had an opportunity to experience Wine tours, restaurants and sites of Portugal we would have never been able to enjoy in the same manner as if we had been on our own. Not only is Armando an excellent tour guide and driver, but more than that he created an experience of the Portuguese people and culture that was up close and personal that we all thoroughly enjoyed. He came highly recommended to us and I agree 110% his services made our visit of Portugal all the more wonderful. Muito obrigada Armando

We met them at Mercado da Ribeira at 1130, and spent the next 4.5 hrs eating some wonderful local dishes, enjoying some excellent Portuguese wines, and exploring some truly superb restaurants in the eclectic Chiado neighborhood. Our party consisted of 8 people (Americans, Aussies, English and Irish), all who shared a love of good food and drink. We started out the tour w/ a small glass of the local liqueur, Ginja, then proceeded to the Time Out Market for charcuterie and wine, followed by a walk-thru of the mercado. From there, it was off for our walking tour of Chiado and its wonderfully diverse restaurant scene. My favorite stop was Sol de Pesca, a neat place featuring a large variety of canned seafoods. Simple, yet so, so damn good: sardines, mussels, tuna, etc. We also toured a number of other eating establishments, stopping variously for wine or food or both. All the while, Duarte provided informed recommendations for future visits, as well as some history behind the neighborhood, and Lisbon in general. He was ably supported by the lovely Monica. Hands down a "must do" in Lisbon if you enjoy good food/drink! Cheers! RS

We booked the small group walking tour on our first morning in Lisbon so that we could get a better understanding of the city and the culture and the history. We were incredibly impressed by Daniel Ribeiro who was our tour guide. His knowledge was really impressive and we learned so much on our three hour plus tour. He took his time and seemed to really enjoy showing us all the city. And best of all, he gave us some fantastic recommendations that we used a lot for the rest of our trip. Next we wanted to explore Sintra and get out of the city for a day. So we also signed up for the day trip to Sintra and Cascais. This was a great way to get to see Sintra and Cascais with an additional stop to see the most western part of Europe. The day itself was a little cloudy but it was April in Portugal. The palace was still incredible and what made it so great was our guide Andres. Unlike more tours where they drop you off and say meet you back in an h our, Andres actually acts as your tour guide through the palace and his knowledge was just so helpful in making us understand the history of it all. It was very appreciated. At the meeting place at the start of the day, there were so many people going on this tour, but we were split up into much smaller groups of like 6 people and each assigned a tour guide. It was all very well organized.

The car service was wonderful, with beautiful luxury cars (well-maintained newer model Mercedes with WiFi) and the tours were meticulously planned. Everything felt private and personalized. Their attention to detail and constant communication left a lasting impression. From beginning to end, they ensured we had a memorable experience. We had countless special moments during this trip, making it impossible to list them all. In summary, it was a worry-free journey. We shared our interests, discussed the pace we wanted, and our preferred level of physical activity (how much walking or touring by car we wanted). We knew exactly who would pick us up and drop off at the airports and where to meet. Their thoughtfully crafted itinerary included all the spots and experiences we desired, along with spot-on tips and suggestions. They even made sure we always had water. Our trip consisted of touring around Lisbon, along the coast up to Porto, stopping in charming villages and towns along the way. We explored Porto and Gaia, then off to tour scenic Douro Valley and back to Porto. Every place we visited was highlighted beautifully. From food tours to wine and port wine tastings, a Fado dinner, and even lunch with a Douro Valley winemaker and family at their vineyard home, our journey was incredible. We wholeheartedly recommend Portugal Premium Tours. Special thanks to Joana Leal, our main point of contact and itinerary creator, as previously mentioned our expert guide and historian, Carlos Cordeiro, along with Marisa Santos and José Pais from the office. Everyone spoke perfect English, making our experience even more enjoyable. We are telling all our friends and family!!

LEARN HOW TO MAKE PASTEIS DE NATA IN LISBON…read more========================================= Weeks before my family's trip to Portugal I booked a baking class at Cooking Lisbon. My daughter-in-law was so excited because she absolutely loves to bake. It was very easy booking online via their website and the class was 40.65 euros each. Add taxes and fees for a total of 209.76 euros. I printed out tickets and added them to my Apple wallet as well. On July 8, 2024 my husband, son, daughter-in law and myself just walked there from the Turim Boulevard Hotel where we were staying. There was a little uphill walking, but is wasn't bad. Filippa greeted us when we walked in and she was our baking instructor for the class. There was only one other guy in the class from Austria and he was very nice. Filippa had the table set up with water and orange juice. She handed all of us aprons and started the class. It was totally hands on and we could all participate in making the pasteis de natas. At the end we had so many of them to indulge in. I only ate two, but they were so good. Before we finished we all scanned the QR code for the recipe. I would highly recommend taking the course.
