We always did a drive- through of the facility to determine the quality of the campground before contacting the office for a price quote. The Canadians were very accommodating and welcomed us to their facilities. We did reject one or two campgrounds due to the appearance. On July 9, 2012, as usual, we drove through the Smith's Green Acres RV Park, Delta Junction, AK prior to inquiring in regard to the price. This was our first campground stop in Alaska. We did drive past a sign "Registered Campers Only" or something similarly worded, but we had seen similar signs at other Canadian RV parks. We had never been challenged previously. We were intercepted by an employee and requested a price quote and were told to contact the office. We proceeded to do that and were confronted by the owner, we presumed, in a hostile manner, and inquired about the cost. We were very curtly informed that the facility was closed in spite of the neon "OPEN" sign in the office window. "WELCOME TO ALASKA"!! We then proceeded to another RV facility and were not treated with such a cavalier and unfriendly attitude. We have traveled thousands of miles throughout the world by RV, automobile and guided tours, etc and have never been treated in such an obnoxious and arrogant manner.

Your review helps others learn about great local businesses…read more On August 4, 2014 as we traveled thru Alaska my husband and I stopped at Smiths Green Acres RV Park in Delta Junction. I walk up to the office, while my husband stayed in our rig, the sign said open but the door was locked. I was then met by a fellow who asked if he could help me. I asked do you have sites available and how much a night? he asked if I was a Good Sam member and I reply yes. He then asked to see my Good Sam member card and I told him my husband has it in his wallet. I again asked for a price. He asked what we needed. I told him water and he said you are from California, do you want to take our water back to CA? Assuming this comment was because of our current drought. Then he said I would be better off going to Clearwater State Park which was a few miles down the road. I ignored this and than said that we also need laundry facilities and he said the state camp would be better, I questioned him if the state camp had a laundry and first he said yes and rejected his statement and said he didn't know. I then asked if he was the owner and he answered yes. I was treated rudely and he never would answer my question of how much a night a site was. This owner left me feeling humiliated and singled out as not good enough to stay at his RV park. I would rate this owner a "Big 0"! My husband and I drove on and stayed at C Lazy Moose RV Park and were warmly received and accommodated.
