We hired DJ Carlos for our wedding. After hearing a sample mix he created for us, we knew he would be perfect for our event. Prior to the event, he was very accessible. He always responded to our e-mails even if it was just to confirm he received our message. He did a telephone walk through with us a week before the wedding to make sure everything was covered and we had no questions or concerns. The actual event was spectacular. He didn't miss a beat with the music for our ceremony. The reception was equally as good. His transitions from song to song are seamless. The selection of songs he played were excellent. I hired Carlos to DJ my company holiday party at the last minute. I was in a bit of a bind because the DJ I hired cancelled on me the week before the party. Originally wanted to have one of our friends DJ our wedding but our reception venue required the DJ to have a business license and insurance, which our friend didn't have. I'm glad we were forced to look outside our circle of friends because Carlos is an awesome guy! We had to interview a few DJ's before meeting Carlos and he definitely helped make our wedding memorable. My first impression from the first time I met Carlos was that he didn't care if we thought he was the coolest DJ ever. He was more focussed on making sure he knew what we wanted as his client, and also making sure we knew what we wanted. Being that we both had never planned a wedding before, we weren't sure exactly what we wanted, but he made tons of helpful suggestions based on other weddings he had done. We both liked Carlos because he was always on time, easy to talk with, and he was great with personalizing his song choices for the night to music we liked based on a list of music he asked us to provide him. We had a mix of friends and family coming from different places including LA, San Diego, Inland Empire, Chihuahua (Mexico), Salt Lake City, and New York. My family is Mexican and my wife's family is Salvi and Honduran. Our guests included a mix of ethnic backgrounds from Puerto Ricans, white people, Mexicans, and Jamaicans, to Philipinos, Vietnamese, African American, Indian, and Guatamalan. Working with Carlos was great from the very beginning. My husband and I just got married on 7/26 at El Dorado Golf Course. My husband had one request, don't get a DJ with an annoying DJ voice, that is going to take over our reception. When we met with Carlos and his daughter, we quickly realized he wouldn't have that obnoxious "DJ" voice!.....1st good point! Carlos was very organized throughout the wedding planning process. He provided a wedding packet with song options to give us guidance. His packet was very helpful when planning our reception timeline with other vendors. This was super convenient! ....2nd good point! My coordinator told me that Carlos visited the venue prior to our event to go over where he would set up, power sources, and details. This made me feel that he took our wedding serious, not just another "gig."....3rd good point! He had a very nice DJ stand facade that made our wedding look that much more elegant. It was much better than the standard black table with cords showing. There was not one cord anywhere... speakers/stands/lighting etc!. He also provided us with uprights that made our outdoor wedding so elegant.....4th good point! Lastly, most importantly, his music selections were spot on with our requests. My husband's family has a very specific type of music they like. We wanted not traditional wedding songs, and he respected our wishes. He had people on the dance floor the entire night, even my 80 yr old grandma :)....5th good point! All in all... working with Carlos was a very pleasant experience. I stumbled upon LB Entertainment while perusing through yelp for a wedding that was less than 2 months away. I wasn't sure what I was looking for when I made the call, but I knew I needed help and guidance to enhance the tone and ambiance of my wedding, since the venue was not in a traditional event space, but the lobby of my condo. The moment I met Carlos, I knew I was in good hands. He was professional, transparent, knowledgeable and extremely constructive in providing all the options available to enhance the look and feel of my venue based on what I was looking for. He was attentive to my needs, willing to work with my budget, timeline, space restrictions and other constraints that otherwise would not have been present in a typical event venue. He came by the venue multiple times to do a walk-through and took time to not only familiarize himself with the venue, but also with me and my fiance. By the time we were getting ready to sign the contract, I felt that I had made a new friend and was both happy and comfortable knowing I had established a wonderful rapport and working relationship with someone I trust and respect. On the day of the wedding, I was blown away. I knew the quality of Carlos' work from having seen photos, but I wasn't able to imagine how anyone would recreate this space with such beautiful lighting. As I walked down the aisle, I felt the glimmer and shine of every light hitting me from different direction, making my dress shimmer from every angle. It was stunning. Everyone came up to me during and after the event to express how impressed they were with the venue and what we've done to transform this space. But that's not all. As artistic as he is with lighting, he is equally artistic and talented with DJing. The music timing, volume and sound for the procession, recession, grand entrance was impeccable!! I never felt that the music started or ended too abruptly or unnaturally. Carlos was perceptive and engaged the entire time to ensure the music was conducive to the ambiance and what was happening in the crowd. It was truly a work of a creative. Not only that, his introductions and opening remarks during the program transitions were incredibly heartwarming and intimate, which was made possible because he actually made time to get to know me and my fiance before the event. Finally, Carlos is exceptionally good when it comes to working with people. As good as he is at working with you, he'll be just as good working with all your other vendors to ensure a seamless production. When we spoke to him via email or on the phone we could tell Carlos was passionate about what he does, was very excited to be a part of our day and ensured us he would do everything he could to make it a success.
