When we first started planning our wedding in 2019, we had chosen to go with another DJ. Richard called my husband and I and assured us that we would not regret hiring his team instead. We entrusted Richard and as he had Said... we did not regret it all. Even in between all the postponements we went through due to the pandemic, Richard was always there to assist us. We also had Richard's team come and set up lighting for the wedding and worked around with us as our coordinators helped get tarp rentals the day of due to un expected rain. I'm very disappointed with Richard and the unprofessional he was in the day of my wedding! Two hours before the wedding he sent me a text message letting me know that he was unable to be the MC after meeting with him and preparing for the wedding. He sent one of his employees with the wrong itinerary and worst part that Richard did not share details of the event that we had discussed. Jose did the best he could but unfortunately a lot of the details he did not had with him. I do not recommend his service and if you do get him make sure he is transparent and operates with integrity! read more

My wedding was this past Saturday and Richard and his team were amazing!!! Right from the get go they totally won us over with their professionalism and timely responses to anything and everything we could ask. I was super indecisive about songs and Richard was extremely helpful in giving suggestions as well as websites with more information. I got a response to all my emails within half an hour, sometimes a few minutes! The day of the wedding we had Jose as our MC and Joe as our DJ. They were both amazing (I will be using "amazing" a lot in this review). We were about half an hour behind schedule for the whole reception but they kept everyone so entertained that no one was even aware we were behind! I didn't hire a coordinator at all but Richard came up with an amazing itinerary and Jose and Joe stuck to it as well as they could (since, like I said, we were running behind). All my guests thought the whole wedding was well coordinated (thanks to them) and they were super impressed with the whole thing. The songs they picked for dancing were amazing! I wish I could've danced longer. Also, we ended up choosing a different First Dance song about a week before the wedding. As a surprise, they played our original song for the last dance. It was the perfect way to end the night. We hired Mijo Entertainment for the ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, and photo booth. We got the package that they offer which includes everything. It also included the up lights which I didn't think I wanted but when I saw them I was like OMG I'M SO HAPPY I GOT THEM. Oh and keep in mind, I planned the whole wedding in a month and a half. My now husband and I had several consult meetings with Richard both at his office and several locations that were to our benefit. He met with all of our relevant vendors and made sure song selection was personalized to us and our guest. He really wore several hats on the day of our wedding. We also did lighting with MIJO. Since the majority of our guests were Spanish speaking, it was very nice that Richard spoke fluent Spanish, entertained our guests with creative games and funny jokes. Overall was very professional and can say has been very consistent. Since then we have continued to use MIJO Ent and several of my guests left asking for his card. KOGI BBQ/Chego: I am writing this review on behalf of my husband who works for Kogi BBQ and hired Mijo Ent for several company parties. Richard's team arrived early to set up, personalized music based on the staff interests and had many games that left everyone laughing and having so much fun. I have been a guest at 3 weddings (my cousin's and 2 close friends) where Richard has been the DJ/MC. His work is truly professional. He shows his professionalism and expertise from day one, when meeting with his brides, to the day of the event, when he shows up in formal attire BEFORE the event begins. Richard does not have fliers and CDs to present to his future clients, he has a binder with music selections and a sheet of HW for them to fill out. He keeps the crowd entertained with his great music selection, props and enthusiasm. We've hired him for several events and he's always been our MC ‍ Nothing against the DJ, he played good however my sister dis-appointed not to see him at her event and was never informed Richard wouldn't be at the event A little unprofessional on his part not to inform us that he would not be at the event, and also the DJ he sent was never informed about the play list that was already discussed with Richard. I have worked with Richard and Mijo Entertainment while coordinating weddings for other couples. That's why when it came to my own wedding I knew exactly who I was going to use for my vendor - RICHARD! I ended up having a live band at my wedding so I did not use his DJ services, however, I did ask him for his advice on several occasions and he was more than helpful. Also, when it came to my event lighting needs he was more than helpful. I had found a photo of what I wanted my wedding venue lighting to look like and I was worried it was going to be hard for him to replicate. Boy was I worried for nothing! I sent him the photo and within minutes he responded with "No problem, I know exactly how to get this done!" WOW! What a weight off my shoulders. After that all I had to do was log on to his company website, submit my payment with my credit card (SO EASY and so much better than mailing a check like most vendors!) Last minute I added on stage lighting which he was able to confirm with me and I was able to pay in five minutes- no stress! I have seen Richard in action many times as a vendor and I know how happy couples are after working with him, however, as a bride myself I could not have had a better experience! Mijo Entertainment was hired to play my high school 10 year reunion. The event was in Fountain Valley, CA. Prior to the event, Mijo Entertainment met with the committee twice in Orange County. During the meetings we discussed music selection and the evening's events. We selected Mijo Entertainment because they had played at other high school reunions. The night of the event ran smoothly. If I could give MIJO Entertainment 100 stars I would!!! Richard is absolutely amazing!! We hired Richard to be the Master of Ceremony at our wedding reception in July 2016. We contacted him after we witness his services at a friend's wedding the year before. We got quotes from other DJs just to see what prices were like, but we knew we were going to go with Richard. His prices were comparable to other DJs in our area. From our first meeting with Richard we felt good about hiring MIJO Entertainment. He is so professional and has so much experience in working with weddings and gave us wonderful ideas to work into our reception. We had a 2-day wedding with the first day being an intimate ceremony with only 50 guest and the next day the reception with 160 guest. I really wanted to hire a videographer to capture the ceremony and show it the next day at the reception, for the guest that were not at the ceremony. When I looked into it, it was way out of budget because it was going to be a same-day edit for the video to be ready to show the next day. When I mentioned this to Richard he loved the idea and offered to include this in our package at a very reasonable price. He showed me a couple samples of family videos he had captured and edited and I thought they were good quality. He drove the 1.5 hours to our ceremony site to capture our ceremony, but not only did he capture our ceremony. He went above and beyond by meeting us at the hotel and captured reading our notes and our first look. The video was everything I wanted and more!! The first day of our wedding went great, the second day not so much, everything that could go wrong did. Having Richard as the master of ceremonies made the second day go so much better. He did an amazing job of calming me down after things went wrong(none of the things that went wrong had anything to do with his services). In the middle of our reception, we had a family member have a medical emergency, had to call 911 and take them away in an ambulance(the family member was ok, but took them as a precaution). I thought for sure that our reception was over and it was only 9pm, but Richard did a great job of getting everyone's attention back on our event after by Husband reassured our guest that the family member was going to be fine. He really listen to our music preferences and played all of our must play songs. Overall, Richard and MIJO Entertainment made our wedding everything we wanted and more. He is extremely professional, courteous and responsive. But Wait!! It gets better - did I mention that he is an OUTSTANDING DJ? Not only does he work with you months and months before your party to help you with any questions you may have, but he also goes the extra mile. He sends you a list of music genres and asks you what type of music you'd like him to focus on and check the box by the "no" or the "yes" for certain types of music.
