My 6 and 9 year old participated in othe skim board and boogie board class. There were 8 kids, but the instructors only brought 2 skimboards and 3 boogie boards- so lots of waiting around. Minimal actually instruction was provided, and the kids were bored after about an hour. My kids are not afraid of the ocean, and are good swimmers. My older son was out in the ocean jumping waves with a 3 other students(without a boogie board) the last 30 minute, and my younger son was playing in the sand for the last 40 minute with one of the other students. (So only 2 of the 8 kids held interest) Would not recommend- 100% waste of money. read more

Do not book with this surf school. I had to cancel because my Daughter was sick last year and they gave me a credit. When I tried to rebook this year they wouldn't honor the credit. You're better off booking with another school that won't try to cheat you if you run into a problem. read more

Unprofessional and unpleasant experience. Signed up and paid for skim camp over 2 weeks prior to our vacation. We showed up 20 minutes before scheduled start time and after waiting over 30 minutes they were unable to provide services as person behind counter helped at least 2-3 other customers after we arrived. No ownership of mistake, instead blaming "other woman in charge of booking". Explained other kids at camp cancelled literally within 30 minutes and cancelled our session as well (even though different contact and booking), meanwhile we showed up more than 20 minutes prior (within 10 minutes of other cancellation). Stay away and go elsewhere like LBI skim camp in Harvey Cedars (very professional and less expensive). read more

My daughter begs every year to do skim camp with Steff. She goes every year and the program just gets better and better. This is a must do if you're on LBI. read more

LBI surfing was super responsive to messages and delivered everything to our beach house and then picked up seamlessly. His prices were much better than most places and I was able to rent a kayak, paddle boards and bikes all from him vs going to multiple places. I highly recommend! read more

On our family vacation my cousin walked by the shop and on a whim stopped by. After a quick chat with Jeff she signed up all of our kids for surf lessons. Our kids had a fabulous time learning to surf, everyone got up on the board and loved it so much we signed for the next day! Jordan, Keegan, Madison and Allie ( who also helped change our flat tire!!) were professional, well educated and truly loved what they were doing. Do not waste your money here. I've done paddle boarding at two other locations on LBI that were great, and let you paddle out as far as you wanted. We decided to check this one out bc they had a Groupon. When we got there the told us we couldn't paddle past their eyesight.. ok understandable I guess, meant we couldn't go to the left at all bc there was a pier blocking vision past it. But to the right was open so still fine. Then we were yelled at bc we can't go in the way of the boats. It left us with literally one small square to paddle in circles in for 2 hours? Nothing to see at all. Every other place we've gone to let us go wherever. Icing on the cake was Jack, an older man with white hair and a whistle that was SO rude to our nice group of 9. The way he spoke to us was so nasty and uncalled for that I felt compelled to come to every social media platform and warn people against this spot and this man. Waste of money even WITH the Groupon. Would've never purchased it had we known we couldn't explore anything, or that we'd be treated so rudely by staff. Ruined that morning of our vacation. read more
