The location that they had set up was a beautiful farm in Stilwell (Serendipity Farms) and they had arranged a huge beautiful wreath in front of the barn for a gorgeous backdrop. We were there for about 30 minutes and had a great time; Rye & her husband Chase were SO great with our toddler. They made him laugh and smile and really gained his trust so he had a blast and cooperated like a little angel. A week after our shoot we met at their studio to go over the photos where we then narrowed it down to our favorite shots. We chose 'Package A' which included 5 printed photos for $750. Here is where I dock one star because I couldn't find any pricing on the Rye Studios website before going into this meeting, so it was a little awkward discussing pricing and options in the moment. It was difficult to follow the package pricing versus the a la carte options. I also wish we would have been provided the digital copies of the photos we chose; The only digital copies we have were the ones uploaded to the Rye Studios Facebook - with the logo attached. All in all, the photos turned out spectacular but based solely on the price for 5 prints, we will probably only use Rye for special occasions. If they had offered a flat session fee for digital copies I would hire them multiple times a year! I will reiterate that I am thrilled with the shots that we did get, I just wish we had access to them.

I had happened onto their site when I saw an offer on FB for a free photo shoot at their barn. I'm a bargain finder, had not set this up yet for my family this year and thought "Boom!." We walked into the studio to review our photos, my husband and I, and were blind-sided by our choices of: Pkg A:$750 Pkg B:$1100 Pkg C:$1250 Ok. I should've asked when I called. I know. Guilty! But these prices were off the chart crazy. We bought, out of naivete. Hindsight..... Their product was beautiful, though! We love our proofs and have learned from this one!

We did the senior minis with Abundant Moments Photography. It was a shortened session at a flat…read moreprice for as many pictures as could fit into the time frame. First, she led us to 7 or 8 different pre-determined locations which was great organization, and then she made our senior look unique and comfortable in each location! She has a great eye for the artistic and also for the light. In the end, we didn't have to spend all day taking pictures nor did we have to blow our budget, and we got a CD with the originals that we can choose to do with what we want. It was great!

But when she sent the pictures the editing was not done well, either pale or orange skin tones. We were happy with about 10 photos out of 75 but they still would need further editing. Suggestion was made that she allow us to purchase just those 10...her price for 10 pictures was outrageous. The sample photos that drew us to her were awesome but the result we got was far from satisfactory. Very disappointed with her customer service. Wondering if we had not been a groupon customer if it would have gone better.

One photographer worked with us, and she was very sweet and did a great job. The photos turned out very well. It was easy to view the images online and place an order through SmugMug Pro. Prices were fair. I also got the jpegs for the images I purchased. Some photographers charge for the digital images, which doesn't seem right (unless that's all you're purchasing), so I really appreciated that. Communication was a little difficult after the photo session took place. If I had questions about my order, some of my emails never got a response. I was also a little disappointed that there was never a "thank you for your order" or any sign of appreciation for the business. I could have just taken the free 11x14 that came with the Groupon and not spent any more money, but I ordered lots of prints. I realize I was a Groupon customer and may have received a discount, but isn't the idea of a Groupon for a small, local business to get exposure and generate more future business? I don't feel like they did a great job representing their company in that respect; I'm not 100% sure I would use them again. But they take nice photos, and I wish them the best.
