Close to the Aylmer Marina (stunning views of the Ottawa River), Dépanneur Rapido is one of two famous convenience stores in the old village of Aylmer, Québec. Dépanneur Rapido has an abundant selection of domestics, broad selection of imports and an impressive array of micro brews. The walk-in cooler in the back of the store is extensive. Expect to pay about a buck a beer for most domestics. As it is to be expected, there is little parking available. You will be able to find parking on the streets. If you are planning on an abundant purchase, don't bring it up to the cash - let the cashier know and staff will accommodate you at the garage door. Pay and go! Taxes are not included in the sticker prices for beer in Quebec, unlike Ontario, but the savings add up. Where they shined was their drinks. The gin spritz was lovely! It was lemony and well balanced. The sangria was amazing - well balanced as well, refreshing, and lovely. The service ranged but it was considerable. The workers seemed to walk the sections at their availability checking in with people. Everyone ranges from very professionally polite to friendly and approachable. It was nice.

It's located right across the street from Carlingwood in the revamped Fairlawn Plaza. What makes this location so freakin' awesome? It's huge! It's size makes the selection great, and I have a bit of a sentimental attachment to it since it's were I first discovered pre-mixed Canadian Club and Ginger ale (SO convenient - right?!). Seriously though, the selection kicks butt, the staff are helpful and pleasant and it's brand new! What's not to love? Also, if you happen to be a drinking cyclist, they have a bunch of places for your bike (and they're used - a lot. I don't know how people have such awesome balance that they can bike home with a 2-4, but props to them). My only teeny tiny complaint it that they're only open till 9 p.m. most nights, but so are most locations that aren't downtown. Otherwise, thank you Ontario for this wonderful establishment!

I normally bring the cart back if I use it to cart heavy bags to my car and then return it inside to the front door, inside. However, once inside not sure what the rules are.
