A complimentary table bread with roasted red pepper hummus was served. We ordered the following: 1. Citrus Beet Salad ($18). Beets, orange, labneh, baby arugula 2. Crab Cake ($22). Pickled red cabbage and arugula salad with radish and basil aioli. 3. Spanish Rice ($36). Bay scallops, tiger shrimp, mussels, calamari, green peas, pepper, horseradish-lemon aioli, and green onion. 4. Pan-Seared Scallops ($55). Cauliflower puree, vegetable succotash, bacon, caper, raisins, and pine nut relish. 5. Saffron Poached Pear ($11). Whipped cream, cookie crumble, candied pecans, fresh berries. All dishes were beautifully plated. The tastes were great. The customer service was great. In the Spanish Rice dish, the Shrimps were large, the Mussels were amazing, and the Calamari were plentiful and perfectly tender. The Scallops were perfect cooked. The dish itself was a visual delight. The Poached Pear was perfectly cooked. The dish was not too sweet or too tart, just perfect. They always have a Fish of the Day and Oysters. Other specials change every two weeks. There is free WiFi. The restaurant is not wheelchair accessible. There are separate male/female washrooms, and they are not wheelchair accessible. When we arrived, we were offered a table across the sidewalk, separated from the road only by a Jersey barrier. This did not feel like the patio experience we had expected. We asked if we could be seated on a patio closer to the restaurant, where there were two empty tables available. After some back and forth with the waiter, we spoke with the owner, who refused to seat us there because the tables were supposedly reserved for guests arriving in an hour to an hour and a half. We even offered to leave or relocate once those guests arrived, but the owner still refused. We decided to leave and went to Junction instead. About an hour and a half later, we passed by AGI again and saw that both of the tables we had asked for were still empty. Overall, it was a frustrating and disappointing experience, especially given that we were there for a birthday celebration. The situation could have been handled with much better customer service and flexibility.

I saw the Beer Store next to it. I decided to pay it a visit. During this pandemic, I haven't had a huge need to get alcohol. I suppose that either I have a decent stash or I am simply not consuming as much alcohol these days. I like this store. The doors have motion sensors. I appreciate not tugging at a door these days and then sanitizing my hands. It also helps if you're hauling a 24-can case of beer and don't have any hands to pull at a door handle. It was a cool Wednesday evening. I was wearing shorts and a t-shirt. I felt rather chilly after roughly ten minutes browsing around the fridge, which is essentially the entire store. It speaks volumes, as I tend to be a pretty warm individual (I'm talking about body temperature here, but you can speak about my personality, if you'd like). I really wanted a light sweater, so I decided to speed up my browsing. I am always pleased to see cans of Stella Artois. I have a decent supply at home, so I didn't need any. I was looking for more beer flavours with fruity notes. I got a can of MadJack hard watermelon beer. I also got a can of Clubtails Strawberry Colada cocktail. I like that I can get nicely chilled beer or a premixed cocktail, and try them out by can, rather than committing to a pack. Although the store has markers on the floor to stand before you get to the cashier and arrows to indicate the direction in which you should walk, customers can't follow instructions at this store. I had one man and one woman get super close to me, walking towards me. I was going in the right direction! I was so grateful that they were driving towards me in vehicles. It's not rocket science to follow arrows. Apparently, they have proven me wrong. The woman at the cashout area was nice. Behind tall Plexiglass, I turned my cans so that she could scan the barcode on each one through it. I paid using my debit card. I tapped and was set. I got my receipt, thanked her, and happily walked to my car to put my beer away. I'm glad that I hit this Beer Store. It killed enough time for me to pick up my takeout. I also got some beer and a cocktail. You can't control customers who go into a store that sells beer. Maybe their consuming some will make them follow the arrows afterwards and provide some clarity. The exterior is built well and has definite curb appeal. The inside has great selection and the prices are fair. They have an LLB license and have a cooler in the back for cold drinks. They have great selection of snacks, merchandise, gear, and much more. This store is essential to everyone, is inviting, and very interesting to be inside! But then, I got an email from Frank Perry at The Beer Store in Mississauga saying they would be reimbursing us for the gift card - and giving us an extra $10 for the trouble of having to call in!! Apparently, they have had some trouble with people hacking into their gift card system, so I guess we weren't the only one they heard from. I was so happy with the good customer service.
