After slumping in planes for 15 hours and wondering if I was at the right bus stop at the airport, I finally arrived at Hotel Le Morgane.
I stopped by their in house restaurant for a cappuccino to stave off a caffeine headache and of course I was starving from the lack of ever decreasing standard in plane food.
The servers were kind and polite and the service did not disappoint with an artful presentation of a rosemary crisp in a slotted pedestal accompanied by olive oil for dipping. The ensemble was reminiscent of a mountain towering over a lake.
My main course was Tuna with fennel and peas. I was expecting tuna poke style, sparse, cubed, and finished in two bites. Instead the plate was filled with three tuna steaks larger than my hand. Portions were generous. I didn't pay attention to the menu description but I think there was a tablespoon scoop of pea ice cream, dots of pea cream, fresh petite peas, and shaved fennel. I was expecting the green dots and pea ice cream to be wasabi. The meal was refreshing though slightly bland.
The meal finished with a complimentary watermelon and berry fusion, also refreshing.
I was happy and my tummy was happy. I went upstairs to clean from my travel and took a juicy nap. read more
