Our designer Alix listened carefully to our requirements and made excellent suggestions that maximised the available space. He understood the look we were after and, because of the recommendations, we have an extremely stylish and practical kitchen. No detail escaped their notice: he was very good at gently steering us away from certain misguided notions and enthusiastically incorporated and improved our ideas that worked. What could have been a deeply stressful process was in fact a pleasure. As a result of all the time and care put into the design, we have a beautifully bespoke kitchen. The installation process was smooth. Martin coordinated everything perfectly with our builders - and frankly deserves a medal for his brilliant organisational skills. We did have a problem with one appliance - and while the manufacturers let us down, Kitchen-lab did not. The aftercare was excellent. Alix and Martin continued to work with us and provide us with support and assistance. They were steadfast and ensured the problem was resolved to our satisfaction. This large shop is mainly a showroom presenting almost everything you would need or desire in a kitchen. They show and supply all of the large appliance brands. The brilliant thing about this shop is the owner who also deals with most of the customer orders. He really knows his stuff and can give you invaluable advice. We were ordering a few items at once but he easily switched his knowledge from ovens, to fridges, to sinks with ease. They arranged delivery and fitting of all the items with care and ease. After consulting the internet their prices are just as cheap as anywhere else.

They also have a small play kitchen set up to entertain the kiddies! The shop is well layed out and not over cluttered, and is easily negotiated with prams or wheelchairs. The staff are smartly dressed, pleasant and helpful. The prices are very reasonable, and are discounted prices from the high street version of the shop.

The only bug bearer is the layout as you kinda have to walk around the whole store to get to the exit...no short cuts but obvious why that's the case. It is worth looking in Gee Jays before buying anything from B&Q or similar places. They have stock clearance items and regular stock as well. The stock varies widely and is regularly updated to accommodate seasonal stock. If you are doing a spot of DIY I imagine you can get everything from here, as they have paint, brushes and cleaning equipment. The main downsides to this shop are: 1) Parking, there are a few spaces on the road outside, but the shop is a 5 min walk out of town; 2) Accessibilty with wheelchair, pram or similar. I find it hard to navigate a pram around, so have to make arrangements to go there on my own.
