Sometimes when I'm waiting for them to get to number 182 at the préfecture and I get hungry, I take the bus down Cours Lafayette just so I can get something to eat at Le Fournil de l'Artisan. (True story. And yes, I have time to go get a sandwich and come back.)
I wish I had known about this little boulangerie all the times I had a 30 minute stopover at Part Dieu before I moved here. (I ate at Quick instead, if you must know.) It's a few minutes walk from the train station (exit on the west side, the same side as the Centre Commercial, and go right.)
Here's what I like:
The viennoiseries. Croissants, yum. Pain aux raisins, YUM. Enough said.
The sandwiches. There's a line out the door at lunchtime, so you know these sandwiches are famous in the 'hood. I'm a fan of the curry sandwich and the rosette/cornichon one.
What am I not a fan of? The Indian sandwich. Soggy tomatoes make me sad. Sad that I didn't choose a different sandwich.
En gros:
Je suis fan... du pain aux raisins et du sandwich curry.
Je suis pas fan... du sandwich Indien. read more
