Quaint and quiet, although I didn't do it, plenty watch the nightly fireworks from here. A simple yet understated escape. Mostly open, so it's not exactly a secluded place; nonetheless, it still offers some solitude. Worth passing through on your way to and from Table Rock and/or the Tunnel, or even if you're just walking about in Niagara Falls.

It was an incredible experience to witness up close. Fun fact: Niagara Falls is actually three waterfalls: Horseshoe Falls, American Falls, and Bridal Veil Falls. We have previously done the ferry (Canada side) years ago when I was a kid. We were just walking around the park because we never been the American side. The observation area, ferries and gift shop were pretty busy, especially during long weekends and holidays. The park has the 2 of the 3 Falls (the 2 smaller ones). I kind of feel like the park sort compensates for having the 2 smaller falls. It was a little bit glummy when we visited but was nice to visit the American side of the falls. The pathway and trails were well maintained and wide enough that you don't feel crowded. The park felt quiet and less busy but well visited once you were walking around.

We decided to get out of the city cause weather was great (before the super cold and snow are on…read morethe way). We decided to hit up Ball's Falls. After about an hour's drive, we arrived. Needed to pay for parking and so I entered to take care of business. The safety protocol is up and they got things setup. The conservation centre is clean and directions are clearly labelled for entrances and exits. We began our walk to the lower falls area and the historic village. I like this little village with its history. The walk was light. Only downside the water level was low, but that's totally okay. Great scenery. After some lunch time, we trekked up to the upper falls and the views are more stunning. Note, hiking shoes are highly recommended as the trail can be challenging. Overall experience isn't bad. We will check out other places in the NRCA.

Went here for a nice afternoon walking trail to see the falls as I love waterfalls. On…read moreresearching, the pictures of the falls looked glorious. On arrival, you have to go to the office to purchase tickets, $8.00 per adult. This is a bit on the higher side, but I tried to justify it that it is a conservation area. On paying, we were informed that there is no falls as there has been no rain. I asked, not even a trickle? Nope, none. In my mind, that is hard to believe, so off we go. There is an upper and lower fall. We head off to the upper first. The trail to the fall was through trees - quiet, uneventful. There are slight gradings, but nothing too strenuous. Well, we reach the 'falls', yep, bone dry. All you see was the rocks. We made the best of it and appreciated what could be. At the bottom there was just pools of sitting water. So off we go to the lower falls. From here it was a little confusing how to head there as the signage was a bit lacking and the office doesn't give out a trail map. Luckily, we took a picture of the map before heading out. There is only a map at the start, but once you reach the upper falls, there is none from there. The walk to lower falls is a little rougher. You are walking beside the 'water'. This would have been a really pleasant walk if there was water running. On the way to the lower falls, you go through an area with heritage buildings. There are plaques outside each building with the details of what it was and the history. This was a nice variance to the trek. From here we were lost. Couldn't figure out how to get to the lower falls as there was no signage. We headed up a large stairs to the right - wrong. This took us to another trail so we turned back. Finally we headed another way (even the map picture we had taken wasn't clear). We finally came up on the 'falls', dry. This would also have been wonderous if there was water. Overall, the hike was pleasant. I would come back but just make sure only after there has been rain. The pictures I see of when there is water is intriguing.

Just a quick trip from Clifton Hill, you can see a different section of the Niagara River where the…read morewater runs at the quickest pace along the river! The boardwalk isn't too long but there's enough room for all the visitors who come by. Purchase tickets at the counter or online, and then take the elevator down. You enter and exit the walk through a tunnel which stays very cool. It feels amazing on a hot day! There are a couple areas where you can take steps down to a dock that's closer to the water. There's also a lot of informational signs about that stretch of the river too, so you can learn more about the water itself and how the land was developed. Once you're down there, there's nowhere to get water, so make sure to stock up at the lobby gift shop and refreshments.

An elevator takes you down 70m go the base of the Niagara Gorge and onto a beatiful, well maintained boardwalk trail. FYI, It is not a long trail. This trail takes you right up close along the Niagara Rapids. Unique view compared to the typical Nigara Falls. You walk back the same way you came to get back to that elevator which leads you back to the entrance/gift shop. Washrooms located accross the street. Option for a shuttle that goes to and from Clifton Hill area (about a 10min drive) from the central Niagara attractions.

Terrapin Point gets you as close to the falls as you can without taking a boat. On the United…read moreStates side this is by far the best viewpoint of Horseshoe Falls. If you are not up for a walk you can drive here and park at the nearby lot and it is a short walk. It's a beautiful view and no matter where you are on the walkway you will get a great shot of the falls. If you want to just sit and take it in, you can. On a nice warm day, the mist every so often off the falls feels good hitting your face while the sun is baking you. This can be as quick a visit as you want it to be. Or you can just sit hear all day and watch the hoards of tourist coming and going.

Great view of Niagara Falls!…read more Terrapin Point is the closest viewing of the falls from the USA without getting on the Maid of the Mist boat ride. If you haven't done the Maid of the Mist, I still think it is worth it BTW. The mist from the falls is so strong that you will get hit from it standing close to the edge. During busy times it can be hard to get a nice camera shot of the falls as everyone else is looking for the same shot. The sun is also pretty strong at times so getting a perfect shot is always difficult. Niagara Falls is indeed awe inspiring and I do try to stop by every time I'm nearby. With erosion and decay on the horizon, I'm hopeful that I'll still be able to enjoy this site for many years to come. As some others have noted, parking is anywhere from free with your National Park Pass, $10 or $15. I didn't take particular note of the difference between $10 and $15 but I think it depends on if you have a much larger vehicle like a RV.

Having the Whirpool Aero Car part of the premium package at Niagara Parks made getting here worth…read morethe trip. A bit north of all the falls attractions, plan an extra 20th minutes to take the Wego up to the stop. Suspended high above the Niagara River while criss-crossing international borders all while getting unobstructed views of the river below makes the Aero Cart a must see attraction if you're jn the area. Even if you have a fear of heights, the ride was smooth and the operator did an excellent job of highlighting facts to keep your mind occupied.

On the Aero Car, the scenery of the Niagara River was very beautiful. The tree in rock formations…read moremade it extremely peaceful and nice. Nevertheless, we probably saw one chip of back state New York and it was a really big adventure. Despite the car with no other side of the cross, it was a great experience. Plus, I finally got my chance to try my first batch of Canada's most iconic dish: Poutine.

We spent most of the time in this area during our visit. You drive past many lush vineyards on the way here where you can pick up a lovely bottle of wine. There is also a great area for kids to play, beautiful flowers and fountains. Great stop for a picnic, to people watch, sit and read a book, or relax and enjoy your surroundings.
