Very impressed with Niagara Falls State Park. Came on a hot and busy Tuesday afternoon. Parking is hard to come by on the street, so we paid to use a garage. The park was vibrant and full of visitors. I was impressed with the overall cleanliness of the park, as well as clear signage and displays for all the attractions. The highlight to me was the new visitor center. I believe the last time I tried the visitor center was 2019 and upgrades have been made. It's so modernized and attractive. Many clean bathrooms to use, lots of interactive displays, a cafe, and gift shop. You can tell a lot of money went into improving this place. I also liked that there were so many public restrooms available throughout the park and seating options including picnic tables and benches. We also saw lovely hanging baskets throughout the park. Everything looked so good and well maintained. A great park for a day trip. Make sure to check out the maid of the mist at least once! read more

The New York State Park is amazing! The majestic awe and wonder of Niagara Falls is truly a sight to behold. It's hard to imagine that people once attempted to go over the Falls in a barrel, or so the stories say! The Maid of the Mist takes you right to the base of the Falls and it is AWESOME... and WET! Don't let those little ponchos fool you. You are going to get soaked, and the roar of the water is incredible. The Visitor Center inside the park isn't nearly as impressive as the Discovery Center Welcome Center, but it offers clean restrooms, a refreshment stand, and an information desk. There are also plenty of fantastic photo opportunities throughout the park and along the viewing areas. The nightly fireworks display is spectacular, though it does get crowded. For wheelchair users, there is a fabulous, spacious ramp that provides easy access down to the viewing level. A beautiful park. There are many points to walk to. It was a little crowded, but you are still able to maneuver around. We did most of the park in a day. The falls are absolutely stunning. I wish there was another area that you could see the falls head on without going to Canada. It's very pretty at night, but difficult to get photos due to the crowd. The area and the falls themselves are lit up and they have fireworks. I do recommend seeing them at least once. There are plenty of activities and restaurants in the area. The area is actually very clean as well. read more

One are my favorite things to do is chase waterfalls. Took in the stunning views of this beautiful state park while on a packer vacation. This place is absolutely amazing. It is free to check out the views at niagara falls. A couple things do cost money. Parking close by costs around ten to fifteen dollars. If you'd like to go to the bottom of the falls on the maid of the mist boat , it cost around twenty-five to thirty bucks per person. The park is open 24 hours a day.Although the boat only runs during the day. Views at night are amazing , with a light show that turns the water different colors. I did not hike while I was there.But there are hiking trails available for people's enjoyment. This is one of the best waterfalls i've ever seen and the photos are amazing. read more

While the Canada side of Niagara Falls gets the better view of actual waterfalls, that doesn't make the NY side any less impressive. In fact, if you are a nature lover, you are going to enjoy this place so much more than you will the more heavily landscaped walk on the Canadian side. There are more trails here, more places and opportunity for a quiet walk, and other than right in the thick of it where most people will congregate for a falls view, it can be quite peaceful. The walks are all in good condition, and the park is clean. The parking is a fair price of "admission" to the park and is convenient to most of it. You'll still find plenty of wooded area and small wildlife to observe. There is of course a more tourist catering section around the main falls with food and gift shop, as well as kitschy things to stick you head through and take pictures. All in all, it's a nice place to spend a couple hours. read more

Visiting Niagara Falls has always been on my bucket list and I finally got the opportunity to fly into Buffalo for a short visit. It's only half an hour drive from the Buffalo International Airport which is not bad at all. Personally I really enjoyed visiting during the early morning (before 11) when the park was relatively empty and I felt like I had the whole place to myself. It really was such a majestic beauty seeing the falls in all it's glory especially on a sunny day where you can catch multiple rainbows at the falls. It was such a calm and healing experience listening to the sound of crashing waves. I walked around to different parts of the falls I got to listen to the rushing waters and also gentle bubbling of smaller parts where the falls split off. Right now, the weather in the morning is quite chilly but by afternoon it was quite warm. I entered from the main entrance and the majestic view of the American Rapids is really a sight to behold and one I'll never forget. It leads to the top of the American Falls which is partly closed off right now due to ongoing renovations on Crow's Nest. Definitely recommend a visit Goat Island to get a more close up view of the other 2 falls, Horseshoe Falls and Bridal Veil Falls (get splashed by a bit of mist) and also take a boat ride on Maid of the Mist! I didn't have enough time to walk along any of the trails off the beaten path but maybe next time when I return! read more

Niagara Falls State Park is America's oldest state park and provides adventure-packed and family-friendly experiences with incredible views. Thrilling attractions and interactive exhibits, riverfront hiking trails, and delectable dining options. While I was here, I spent time exploring many of the trails throughout the park with gorgeous views of nature that was well maintained. The park has amazing views of the falls. I participated in the Cave of the Winds experience where I descended 175 feet into the Niagara Gorge and feel the water flowing off the Falls from the Hurricane Deck. I got a ticket to the Niagara Falls State Park Observation Tower where I saw the only panoramic view of all three cataracts that comprise Niagara Falls, including the American Falls. I ate at Top of the Falls Restaurant that offers American-fare lunch and dinners and a panoramic view of the Falls. You can access The Maid of the Mist boat tour in Niagara Falls, N.Y. From the park. I did not purchase tickets for this experience since I rode the boat on the Canada side. I spent almost the entire day here and could have spent even more time exploring the trails and the Schoellkopf Power Station ruins site if I didn't have a time restriction. Definitely a must see natural wonder. read more

Impressed with this tiny, but well-maintained park. Plenty of walking trails and overlooks to enjoy the various falls: American, Bridal and Horseshoe. We first entered from the street and went to the main welcome center to get our bearings. There are a few nice photo ops and staff inside were friendly and happily pointed out things we should do and explained how long it would take. We asked where the actual Niagara Falls were and got a history lesson which was fascinating. If you're like us - you think Horseshoe falls are the "Niagara Falls" but that's just the town name, there is no actual Niagara Falls. We enjoyed walking along the paths, across the bridges and the overlooks. Everything is clean and well-maintained. We stopped by the cave tour gift shop area and they have a cafe, a nice gift shop, restrooms, etc. We saw the seated Tesla statue as well as the original power plant stone gate which is very beautiful. The Horseshoe Falls area is interesting - and misty and windy - be prepared to get a little wet if you hang out here for a while! The immense power of the water rushing over those falls is apparent even from hundreds of feet away and when you get up close and person it's really something to behold. Something like 34 million gallons rush over this waterfall per minute. That is insane. All-in-all - well worth an afternoon exploring. read more

This is a beautiful place to visit on any given day. And to know that this is basically the first state park ever in the nation makes it that much more special. This borders right up to the tourist district of the city but somehow feels so far away. Almost like an oasis depending on the portion you are standing in. Of course the most notable thing about this place is that it contains the US portion of Niagara Falls. You can do many attractions here. You would be stupid not to. One suggestion, do all the things you can early and then you can enjoy walking about the park after that. There is a lot of walking you can do and a lot of things you can see while walking about. Beautifully maintained and a great place to just take in the day if you want to. read more

Park was great. The day I went (Dec 26th most things were closed so my review is limited to the walking and parking there) it was clean and parking was a breeze. To get any sort of experience def walk up to the falls from the far bottom of the walkway then up to the falls and up towards the bridge then back towards the parking lot to see those two monuments at the top of the parking lot. There is not much to do here outside of this and a casino down the road. Looks like the area is in hardship so keep that in mind exploring outside of the park itself. read more

Niagara Falls is a must visit in your lifetime. This state park is just stunning. From the plant life to the falls itself, everything is just beautiful! There is so much to see here. And there's a ferry you can take to get even closer to the falls. A part of the walk way was closed but if you go further down the walk way, you can get a better view of the falls. It's truly remarkable watching mother nature at work. We did go on the Maid of the Mist. Such a neat experience to take this ferry and ride close to the water falls. It's pretty seeing them from above but to see them from a ferry, it's an epic time. Parking is a bitch and they charge an arm and a leg for it but it's worth every penny. Maid of the Mist is a must do to get the full experience. Just standing there and absorbing everything around you is very special. I hope everyone gets to experience what I got to experience today. One of nature's wonders marked off my bucket list. read more

So to be clear, the falls are beyond 5 stars! This review is for the park and facilities. The park is currently undergoing major construction and so the nice viewpoint that is closest to parking, Prospect Point, is not accessible at present. We were bummed as we didn't have long to visit since we had a long drive back home that day. They charge $1.25 to get to a bridge viewpoint which we would have happily paid but you have to get in the Maid of the Mist line to get the overlook tickets...and that lime was long. Oh well...we did still sort of get to see the falls. It looked like Terrapin point was still open by horseshoe falls but we didn't have time to walk over there. Hopefully all will be lovely again once construction is done. read more

Absolutely a ONCE IN A LIFETIME EXPERIENCE, that one should do at least once in their lifetime. I did the entire walk until the end of the park, which took up the entire day (well worth it). The Falls, birds , greenery, scenery, and all the people from different parts of the world was a joy to experience. Parts of the fall you will get wet, and it was so fun, on the hot summer day I visited . Sneakers and water are a must as there is plenty of WALKING. There is also a fireworks show at 10pm and I just happened to have great seats. As we all know, there is lots of history here, and so much to see. Do not rush your visit, give yourself time to see all there is to see. read more

We visited in April 2026. Park wasn't crowded which was lovely but no Maid of the Mist due to icy water conditions. We still had a nice time. Cave of the Winds was very cool. Pleasant walking around park. We were glad we stayed in downtown Buffalo as opposed to the town of Niagara itself. Buffalo appeared quieter and less cheesy/touristy/commercial. read more

This side of the falls (USA side) is more of a nature preserve than the Canada side, which is way more touristy. Gotta check this place out if you're visiting New York. It truly is an amazing sight to see in person. We didn't do the boat ride which costs like $30.00, but it does seem pretty fun and they actually stay by the falls for quite a while. It only costs $1.25 to go up to the observation deck. There's some different vantage points of the water and falls, so make sure you don't just stay by the visitor center and make sure you walk to the different lookout points all along the river. A really cool experience. You can also drive over to the Canadian side and get a different vantage point of the falls, but make sure you bring your passport and the main parking lot there is also a little limited and around $25. read more

One of my top bucket lists and boy it was worth it. Lots of walking to do, beautiful landscape and of course the amazing falls. They have a few restrooms, maps of the area and a trolleys you can take to Goat Island for a fee. You can also purchase trolley tickets at the visitors center and near the trolley location. You can also walk the bridge over to Goat Island. Beautiful to see and privileged to check this off my list as done Things to know: Cost money to go to the Observation deck. We waited until 4:30pm and all was open for FREE! Construction going on and main viewpoint was minimized. They have ice cream, lemonade, etc. and local vendors selling near view point. This park is a must-see at least once in your lifetime. The park is clean, spacious, and has tons of spots to get some gorgeous pictures. It is really crowded during the spring/ summer seasons. However, you can spend time in the park, and it's spacious enough for you not to be bumping into others. Some of the things you can do include the famously "maid of the mist" where you're on the boat cruising as close as they allow you to the falls. You can check out the "Cave of the winds" where you take an elevator and then walk up some wooden stairs with a guide to the "hurricane deck" and you're like 29 feet from the falls. I saw people doing the zipline near the falls. They have the observation tower that gives you amazing views from up top. There were places for you to get water, snacks and food. There were tons of parking within walking distance of the park. I would visit this place again and again. read more

Niagara Falls is beautiful so beautiful I went during the winter time I went during the summertime it makes no difference both times are beautiful with the ice and without the ice. It's such a peaceful place to be at. I've been on both sides. Canada and New York. Canada side of Niagara Falls is so much fun. They have mediums. They have amusement parks. They have a lot of dining options. New York side has more nature. They have a better view of Niagara Falls to me, not as much attractions as Canada, but more of a piece of mind, and relaxation. If you could cross borders, the bridge is very close. Check out both sides and give your own opinion. Either way look at it. It's such a beautiful area and I must say the Canadian side is very very very very diverse. It was beautiful seeing all the different people, and it was definitely a vibe over there. read more
