We stumbled upon this place while walking the streets on a Friday evening in search of dinner...the building and the buzzing outdoor seating we're inviting & the French/Italian menu was the cherry ontop. Our waitress was a genuine beautiful soul, and was VERY accommodating. We shared the pate for our appetizer- delicious. My mother had the barrata salad, and I the roasted lamb chops *cooked perfectly, nice and rare and juicy*. Both entrees were good and the food was fresh. For dessert we shared the caramel and sea salt eclair...that's when I blacked out, haha. SO GOOD. Over all, I was happy with my experience, and for the price I feel that we got what we paid for. Went to this place tonight with couple of friends... been to a billion places in Paris but this one is by far, the WORST. I sat outside waiting hours to order my food and the so called boss, touched my shoulder asking very disrespectfully to stand up and gave my chair to other customers next to us... this was so rude that I thought it was a joke. So he took my chair and gave it to other customers...giving me a ridiculously small stool where I couldn t even sit... I highly DO NOT RECOMMEND this place... the funniest part is that apparently this guys do that... A LOT. Long story short the guy lost 5 clients who were willing to order a lot of food tonight! Awesome wine! Awesome food! Awesome rats! My girlfriend and i came to paris for the weekend. We have traveled to many other european countries and were excited to visit France. Unlike all the other restaurants we visited, this one was incredibly unhygienic. We loved our meal and bottle of pinto noir but as we were wrapping up our meal we noticed about 10 mice running around the dining room floor... We were in the regular part of the restaurant and were scared because we had just finished the food we ordered. We were literally making noise to keep them away from us. PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD GET A HEALTH INSPECTOR IN THIS ESTABLISHMENT. never been more disgusted in my life. If you like rat poop in your food please go to this restaurant immediately. This place has nice decor and lighting but the food wasn't worth it. The tuna steak was overcooked and had too much oily sauce on it. The green beans were also overcooked. My friend's pasta had an excellent sauce though, and there was nice bread to eat with it. My cocktail was pretty small, but the wine was good. read more

I really liked this place. They had a somewhat different menu than other places in Paris. It can be quite boring to have the same options over and over. I realize it is a bit pricey and the stunt with the tip is rather sketchy but I have no trouble calling out someone when doing something they are not supposed to. On the plus side, they were VERY friendly, quick, and kind. The food is excellent -I had the scrambled eggs with truffle and the avocado with crab- and the wine and spirits selection is great as well. Definitely a good steak, but the waiter was completely awful. He didn't ask us to taste before pouring wine (it tasted as if the bottle had been open for days), he misheard my husbands order of a steak tar tar and served him a burger, he misheard the order for salad and served two chips, and finally - we were deep in conversation when he brought the bill and told us loudly in English that it does not include tip - TWICE. It felt as if he was bullying a tip and the service was rubbish. We travel to Paris often from London and will not go back ever. read more

We came here on a Sunday night as most of the other restaurants in the area were closed. The food was okay. My penne arrabiata was good but my fiance's steak was not cooked well enough. We normally eat our steaks rare, but this was so raw it was hard to cut and chew. The service was decent and the ambiance was okay. Overall it was an average experience. read more

The place appears nice and I'm sure their food is decent but after experiencing the prison guard affect of our waiter we settled for a glass of wine and moved on. Unbelievably rude, refusing to seat us outside for drinks even though there were plenty empty seats. We were told that "outside is only for food. We are a restaurant." However 70% of the occupied tables outside were drinks only. Horrible. Would have given zero star if it was an option. read more

We came the week this restaurant/bar opened in the left bank, just off Boulevard St. Michel and Boulevard St. Germain. We had an after dinner drink - friendly service and interest from the bartender and wait staff. My companion had a cosmpolitan - very well done. The bartender tells us they aim to provide american style cocktails, and they succeeded. Despite that, the overall ambience felt cozy and french. The upstairs bar has a number of couches and lounge chairs. A great place for a late night drink/appetizer. read more

Lovely location off the Boulevard Saint Germain but horrendous service. We had to ask our waiter multiple times for everything (drinks, menus, checks, etc..) - him passing next to our table without stopping for a second. Gets busy during happy hour with a terrace crowd. Great for people watching in the neighborhood and feeling quite French ordering a wine glass. Pricey but that's expected in the neighborhood. read more

Walked into Hibou around midnight tonight with my fiancee, wanting to order a hot chocolate. My fiancee didn't want anything. The waiter gave her a look and refused to serve me, claiming it was "one drink per customer." He was rude and dismissive, and there was no good reason for it. There were plenty of empty tables; many people were sitting alone at 2-person tables, it was after midnight on a Tuesday, why should it matter whether we ordered only one drink? The whole thing made no sense. Needless to say, we both got up and left; and I can't help but think that he would never have treated us this way if we were Parisians. Plenty of better cafes to choose from around St. Germain. read more

We enjoyed a good, typical French breakfast here sitting outside. We had wanted to be outside since it was a nice day, but when we went to the restrooms downstairs, we saw that the inside was quite spacious and beautiful. And the ladies room decor was very cool! Worst Place Ever! The Waiter started yelling at us when we asked twice for the bill! As we got mad and responded we thought that the Manager would come and apologize, instead she came and started insulting all of us! I have just never seen something like that! Loved the Minced Steak with a Fried Egg on Top. The mashed potatoes may be the best I've ever had. Friendly place with good food and drinks.

Second visit was as as the first!!! Get the beef Paris or the beef filet. The service is incredible and the food is to die for. Not to mention it has the coolest atmosphere(after dark) of any place we've been in Paris. read more
