Continuing our food tour of Strasbourg, we landed here at Le Météor to a reserved table where we had more wine and more food. This is a comfy and busy restaurant where our waiter checked everyone's QR codes and then our dessert arrived. We had tarte flambée for dinner last night, but that was savory. This one was sweet and it was pretty darned awesome. A very light crust flat bread topped with thin-sliced apples and topped with a cinnamon drizzle. Cut into pieces there was plenty of this stuff and in fact, a bunch of it went into a box for later. It's huge and at only €8.50, a fabulous inexpensive dessert to share. Great busy vibe in this place for late lunch. We'll need to get back here for dinner. [Review 16437 overall - 71 in France - 1945 of 2021.]

This place is a modern take on a traditional brasserie. Located on a quiet street in the Petite…read moreFrance neighborhood. It's on two levels with an open kitchen on the main floor. We sat near the kitchen. And didn't check the upper level. Service was good, if not a little too casual. I started with cold foie gras. It was good but I prefer it seared. For main I had fish, dourade or sea bream. It was delicious. The side of risotto was ok. My husband had veal medallion or loin. It was delicious and perfectly cooked. Dessert, we split aTriple Chocolate. It was really good.

Very disappointing. It's a very nice, peaceful place, and the beginning was promising. Brilliant…read morewine, excellent food (we had lamb, fish and choucroute) - but then service stopped. They overestimate their capacity, it seems. Our empty plates were on the table for more than half an hour. Only when we insisted, we got the menu for the dessert. After ordering Café Gourmand and one boule of glacé vanille, nothing happened. Our neighbours got their dessert, we didn't. We insisted twice, were told "soon". Then, after 40 minutes, our waiter finally adressed the problem: They're too busy with other tables. We'd have to wait 15 more minutes. We'd ask for the check instead. No apology, no wine offered, nothing. Very disappointing, would not go again and would not recommend. There are so many brilliant though less fancy restaurants nearby, why waste time?
