Cute, authentic neighborhood Italian restaurant with somewhat different dishes. Came here with a colleague for dinner while we were in Brussels. Fortunately he spoke some French, because the owner/waiter didn't speak any English. The menu was about 8-12 things written on chalkboards and the entire place had a very hole-in-the-wall feel. I got the pappardelle with mushrooms, bacon and blueberries, which was quite good and different. I wouldn't have thought to pair blueberries there and while it didn't blow me away, it was really good and different. The mozzarella with vegetables appetizer we shared was also quite yummy. The food was okay... The entire menu is french written quite messy and hard to translate. We took a recommendation from the waiter and was served an undercooked plate of gemelli pasta with tomato sauce and sausage which didn't taste terrible but realized I Paid 18 euros for a meal I could have cooked at home for less then 10. Rather unimpressed. I came for dinner and had the grilled prawns with vegetables. Much to my dismay, the prawns were whole and unshelled, forcing me to make a mess while peeling them, ripping off the heads, and de-veining them. The vegetables weren't freshly grilled; they were just cold, marinated vegetables soaking in oil. Another Yelp gem. A colleague of mine recommended Ricotta & Parmesan which is literally across the street from my apartment. But based on the Yelp reviews I decided to trek to Le Millennium. Be warned, the kitchen opens at 19:00. Food - 5 stars They started me off with a piece of bruschetta. Very simple but very well done. The diced tomatoes were fresh and firm (not mushy) mixed together with light olive oil and oregano on a fresh slice of crunchy baguette. Great way to start my dinner. I ordered the seafood linguine based on their recommendation. OMG. The linguine was cooked to perfection. Al dente and seasoned perfectly. The seafood was fresh and abundant (clams, shrimp, squid and langostine). All tossed together in some butter and herbs. Very simple yet very very good. Served in a hot pan to keep the food warm. The ONLY negative was that the bread accompanying the dinner was a bit on the stale side. But slightly stale baguette in Belgium trumps most any baguette you find in the US. Service - 4.5 star Service was great. Of course I was the first patron of the evening. There were some other locals drinking and playing darts. The gentleman/owner was very friendly, but spoke no English. Side note: I forgot to bring enough cash and they do not take credit card. They told me where the bank was and I actually trekked back to my apartment because I did not have my bank card. They were very sweet and understanding. I made it back 30 minutes later to pay the bill and leave a nice tip. Very nice congenial folk. Atmosphere - 3.5 Located on a quaint and quiet street. Dimly lit restaurant but feels homely. Has a foozball table, darts and pinball machines. They also have a flat screen TV that was showing football. My only regret is that I did not come here sooner! Great italian, non-touristy. Get your translate apps ready as they don't speak much english and thats A-OK! We found this on yelp and it was not too far from where we were staying (Hotel Bloom!) We had bruschetta and bread and butter on the house. The bruschetta was amazing - the toast was perfect, the tomatoes were ripe and cold and crisp. Two of my friends both ordered caprese salad. It was literally 12 huge round chunks of mozzarella with on tomato with basic and amazing infused olive oil. I ordered the spaghetti alle vongole (spaghetti with clams). Sauce was light, lots of clams, and it was super tasty. The seafood linguini another friend ordered was huge with lots of stuff (clams, razor clams, shrimp, crawfish). Probably the best find was what my friend ordered off the specials menu - the squid ink ravioli in this tasty yellow sauce. Wow. It was an amazing meal. Best way to end the trip read more

We try to find places in neighborhoods to see how each culture lives and eats. This place was about .5k from our hotel and in a very nice little neighborhood. Doesn't look like much on the outside. But nice quiet little indoor and has a good size back patio nice and relaxing no street noise. Now the food. Everything is hand made fresh! Yes hand made fresh!! Very very good food! But when they are out of something they are out. That to me is a good thing!! I got pasta stuffed with sausage. Had bacon as well. Was fantastic! My 2 teenage boys had other pastas and were very happy and they are picky!!! My wife loved hers as well!!! Cash only which I don't mind, typical relaxed service so u can enjoy but don't be in a rush. Great Italian food at a fair price! I actually got a type of pasta with calamari that I'd never had before, and my friend got a squid ink pasta stuffed with shrimp in saffron sauce. They were both delicious, and the wine is good and affordable too! Also the older gentleman serving us was very nice, although he didn't know too much English so if you know French that's a bit of a help. And they served free bruschetta, which was so good. Delightful homemade truffle tortellini in truffle cream and Parmesan sauce. Tiramisu was also fresh made and I've never had better. Staff are very friendly and the fact that I only speak English was not a problem. The menu has English translations. Reasonable prices because not in touristy location. If I come back to Brussels I will definitely return here. If you're staying at the Marriott Courtyard EU take the short walk to Le Millennium. You'll be glad you did. A+ read more

This cute place is on an unassuming quiet street near madou. I was craving the spaghetti vongole so searched on Yelp where to go. The mussels had a nice flavor to it and the spaghetti felt light. I soaked some bread into the sauce after and the garlicky goodness was just right. read more

My husband and I wanted something close to our hotel and discovered this great place! The owner/chef made fabulous homemade pasta! I had the stuffed artichoke pasta, and it was seriously one of the best pastas ever! The menu is in French and English, but if you only speak English be just be prepared that the staff speaks only a little English. We were able to order fine ( minus our glass of wine) but we feel that is what traveling is all about! They also only accept cash too! I definitely would recommend it! read more

The place may seem a bit strange at a first glance, as it is a mixture between a bar and a local restaurant but you are compensated by the excellent Italian cuisine and the cosy atmosphere. On the positive side: great dishes, family owned restaurant, authentic Italian flavours. On the negative side: the fact that you can only pay in cash and you don't get a proper receipt. Great food with fresh vegetables & what seemed like homemade tortellini. When I went, it was about 13 -15 euros a plate, and definitely a great value for the quality of the food. Like everywhere in Belgium they also have a great beer list. Even though my French is crap, the staff (my guess is owners) were very kind in trying to explain things in French/Italian/English to us. I'd highly recommend the Truffle Noir / Black Truffle tortellini, and the way the food is served is conducive for sharing. read more

very nice place, a gem in Brussels. excellent pasta dishes, good prices and kind service. it is located in a shady neighbourhood but close to the city. nice attention to detail with warm plates, free bread and free bruschetta (starter). we had shrimp & saffron ravioli and cream & salmon ravioli which was great. the meal was finished off with a perfect tiramisu. the owner doesnt speak english but menu is french & english. theres only pasta (ravioli, tagliatelle etc) on the menu. its a small place located in a shady area but trust me its worth a visit! read more

Ate here my last night in Brussels. The pasta was amazing, and fresh. I had a creamy truffle filled pasta that was just fantastic. Thank you yelpers! I found this restaurant because of your good reviews and I can say this place is amazing. It is run by a family and is pretty small but the food is absolutely fantastic. I went on a scouting journey with 4 other colleagues who were attending a conference in Brussels about a 10 minute walk nearby. All of us loved it so we came back the next night to watch Spain vs. Portugal with about 25 people. Everyone loved it. They made some fantastic special pastas because they knew we had a group. It was really really nice. A bunch of us are going back again tomorrow to watch Germany vs. Italy. I can tell you I don't think I have ever traveled to a city where I ate in the same restaurant 3 times in 1 trip! This place is really special, not expensive, and very very nice. read more

Great dining experience. A bit of a hole in the wall feel. Friendly service and local atmosphere. The starter bread and butter was pretty good and not stale as other reviewers have had. The shrimp scampi app was very tasty. The fruit de mar pasta entree was loaded with clams, shrimp, razor clams, and langoustine. As many reviewers have said this has surprisingly good food for what is a shabby exterior and dated interior. However the other Italian restaurants in this area on Place St Josse have equally good food and present themselves with more style. read more
