For words that were not easily translated, the whole restaurant rallied to make sure we understood what food we would be ordering. The atmosphere is decidedly comfortable and easygoing. I ordered a croque Normandie, a twist on the traditional croque monsieur. Normandy is known for a rich cream sauce which was ladled generously atop my sandwich. It was definitely heavy but a lovely option. My mom really ordered well with a salmon shepherd's pie (called a tarte on the menu) with a beautiful mixed salad on the side. When our orders came in, the chef sang in each option with a smattering of jokes for each patron. You can really feel the cheery ambiance here in the way waitstaff and chefs treat customers and each other. The staff seem to genuinely care about the food, the customers, and each other.
