The service was fantastic, and the selection of baked goods was really nice. We had a rack of macaroons, the quiche, and the cheese danish. All of which were nice, though a little bland. I had the bacon egg and cheese croissant, which, again, was a little bland for my taste. Very healthy, very fresh ingredients. I did feel it was also fairly expensive for what we got but maybe not for the area that the restaurant is located. Seems like everything in downtown Greenville is pretty high. Stopped in Saturday as grandson wanted some macarons. We ordered 6 for $18.00. Lavender, pistachio, birthday cake. I always brought macarons back from France while on business and the flavors were always distinct and popped. Every one of these tasted the same like in the freezer and no flavor distinction. This place's vibe reminded me of an authentic cafe in Paris. The pastries and croissants are so fresh and the smell was simply divine. The croissant sandwich was huge and very reasonably priced. Good but not great. It's a cute bakery with a few outdoor seats. I understand that the cooking lessons is part of their gig, read date nights. Definitely less a coffee bar but the vibe felt like working bakery minus all the breads, etc and had a southern store demeanor. The coffee was solidly good and I liked their teas. Perhaps with the international flair and flavor of the city, we'd get done amazing croissants. Unfortunately this was a bit of a miss for me. It lacked the crisp of a freshly made viennoiserie and felt leftover. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad but neither was it great for the price. The Ginger Tart on the other was perhaps better! Wow. My husband talked up the croissants at this place and explained how wonderful and talented the owner, Brad, is. So we had a rare moment for a morning date and went straight there. Every employee was rude. Not just no personality, but rude and made you feel like you were doing something wrong by existing. From the terse cashier to the woman who brought the quiches and scolded us for not having a table number (we weren't given one??), to the woman who seemed very put out when my husband asked to use the restroom. The only positive was that the quiches were very good. This place honestly felt like they were trying to be snooty Parisians as an act or something. Just shockingly poor service. I was driving thru the area on my way to Asheville for a work meeting on Sunday. I realized it was about 3:15, and I could pop in before closing and grab some goodies for the ride to my hotel and also for the first day of the meeting. I have been here several times, I love being in here because of the quality of the products sold here, and the staff is really great. On Sunday, Noah and Diane were here and remembered me since my colleagues are here in town and here often. So kind, professional, and nice to be acknowledged as a repeat customer. If I lived here I'd be in deep, deep trouble. I bought a couple eclairs, croissants, and a baguette. I'm ashamed to say that nothing made it past the 24 hour mark after I left Greenville. The fresh French bread was chewy and the inside was soft and pillowy. With some butter I was in absolute carbohydrate heaven. Please support small businesses like this one. It's a gem of the city and I hope people recognize that this quality is unmatched for this area. You have a master baker here! This is an adorable and very spacious cafe that is owned by a local family, so if you're someone who likes to shop/eat local, definitely check this place out! Let me tell you - croissants and macarons are two of my favorite things. Now here's a cafe that has a Parisian chef who make these fresh on the daily. (So legit!) Fabulous! The flakiest, most delicate croissants we have had outside Europe. They have a nice selection of candies, chocolates, and pastries, including baguettes, as well as rich, smooth coffee. The store is intimate, with scattered tables and chairs, quiet enough for conversation. Service was excellent and we will be back again! Highly recommend this gem. read more
