No matter what you order though, you cannot go wrong. Lastly, while not an inexpensive meal, I was shocked by how reasonable the bill was for the caliber service, and quality of the meal.

So, even I travel here quite a bit, I can't say that I know Paris all that well for food. That being said, I've had a handful of meals in Paris at Michelin star restaurants. I don't believe I'm exaggerating to say that Neva has Michelin star - level cuisine or just slightly below (but only because the preparations are fairly simple while many Michelin star restaurants are known for more complex dishes). I literally cannot say enough positive things about dinner at at Neva. First the amuse bouche--it was a piece of octopus over pureed garlic and I think celery root. I don't even love octopus (usually too chewy), but it was so tender and tasty. I knew we were in for a fabulous meal. Next, I ordered the foie gras--it was a terrine/mouse style and absolutely delicious and seasoned to perfection. Then my friend and I ordered the beef chop for 2 people (I thought it was for 4 people as it was so huge)--cooked to a perfect rare/medium rare and absolutely delicious and served with some chimichurri and some sort of pureed potato/cream sauce that reminded me of the potatoes i've had at L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon. Then finished with the chocolate sphere--it's a rounded chocolate sphere with ice cream inside--and then they pour a hot chocolate sauce on top and it melts! Absolutely fabulous. Small, but tasty wine list (we ordered a Burgundy and Bordeaux). And great value--the 3 course menu (starter, main, and dessert was 41 Euros, with some additional supplements for more expensive dishes). Highly recommended! I can't wait to come back during my next trip to Paris in a few months. More memorable than the 1 star michelin restaurant I ate at my trip before.

This past weekend the doors opened and the neighborhood locals poured in to test out what is bound to become a hotspot in this developing side of the canal. The restaurant/café is pretty gigantic and extremely tastefully done. There's a lovely atrium in the central part of the restaurant outfitted with retro tiled floors, a wall garden and a glass ceiling that looks onto the painted window frames of the hotels rooms above. There's also a library-like salon, and a big dining area with faucet wall art and a smattering of tables outside. While I've yet to test out the American-inspired bistrot fare of mostly hot open sandwiches, salads and burgers I did have a very lovely crisp rosé in the central cafe while chatting with some neighbors who, like me, were there to support this local biz on its first few days of existence. Friendly owners, great space, cool decor and a boutique hotel all wrapped into one. What's not to love?
