She's always trying to stay up to date on trends. Finding someone who knows their way around curls (cutting and coloring curl clumps) is rare and she is fantastic. She gives a great scalp massage during your shampoo which is...WOW! I also value her knowledge around products. She points me in the right directions with tips and tricks with shampoos, conditioners and styling products. Even learned about cowashing. Curl knowledge is even changing and following Tina on Instagram helps too. She's fun too. And has a wicked sense of humor. She's interested in you as a person, wanting to get to know about your life. Don't be surprised it you find yourself laughing in her chair. I am reviewing during COVID 19. In her salon, all staff and clients were in masks the entire time. I witnessed cleaning/ disinfection procedures after I switched between my 3 stations (styling, heater and washing chairs).

First going the Deva Curl/ Curly Girl method route. Then during the height of the pandemic and out of boredom/insanity I decided to bleach my hair and do fun colors. However it destroyed my curls. I was having problems restoring them. Doing research I stumbled upon Rezo cuts and was amazed! I found Tina was trained in this method and the rest is history! I love it! It is super quiet and relaxing. The last salon I went to was one big open room which at times was really loud. People would let their kids run all over, messing with the chairs and just being plain annoying. I no longer have this problem at Sola Salons. Getting my hair done is finally what it should be....relaxing and ME time. She is open to being fun and doing new things to your hair. Life is short....live life to the fullest! Another great thing about having your own space is you can decorate your room to fit your personality. Mallory has elephants, Buddha's and Ganesh in her space....it is a happy place. Making appointments is incredibly simple and easy, you just go to their GlossGenius scheduling site and pick what services you'd like, then pick a day! You'll get a text confirmation after, and then you have to confirm your appointment before you come. That's helpful just in case you are apt to forget appointments, but I've never needed a reminder because I'm always so excited to come see her. Day of my haircut, I arrived at Phoenix Salons in Roseville. I walked through the front doors and stood by the empty check in desk a few minutes before just deciding to find her suite myself. She was located more towards the back and her suite is clearly labeled "GoldenGlamBam". I was early for my appointment so I sat on a bench outside and then she showed up fairly soon after. She gets set up and welcomes me in. She's so friendly! I tell her what I was looking for and she reconfirmed the length of my cut. She shampoos and blow dries my hair, all the while we're just chitchatting. Did I mention how friendly she is?! I tell her about the couples photos I was going to take with my boyfriend the next day and ask about hair curling tips since my hair cannot hold curls. She mentions a few products and then continues on with my cut. After she was finished, she actually curled my hair for me and then instructs me on the technique and product she uses. After she was done, my hair held curls. Such healthy beautiful possible curls! So I'm writing this review a day after my haircut and my curls are still intact. Pakou made the impossible possible.

Sufficed to say, the disruption mid cut, was not only rude, but likely was the reason for the horrific cut. I have never been so distressed and embarrassed of my hair. I am so grateful for extensions, as I needed four bundles for this mishap. A very costly fix for a horrendous haircut. ( Extensions were NOT from Spoke & Weal). One star for my service refunded.
