Interesting and authentic! You can also buy wine by the glass. They have red/white/rosé of the day for about €8 with higher quality than neighboring restaurants. The winestore/bar has about 6 small tables in a steep alley located in central Villefranche. During high season there is a calm flow of people strolling by. We were told point-blank that the bar was closing "for us," while the rest of the patrons stayed comfortably seated. The staff directed only us to leave, without explanation beyond that. It was an incredibly uncomfortable and humiliating experience -- not something anyone expects to encounter in 2025, especially in a city known for its international visitors. If you're an American traveler, I'd strongly suggest spending your time and money somewhere that values hospitality and basic respect for all guests. There are plenty of wonderful places in Cannes that welcome people from around the world. Sadly, this is not one of them.
