And as for the dining experience, it's very comparable to a 1-2 star Michelin restaurant. From the first to the last course, you'll remember the experience. They take care of you until you leave the lobby. I had so much foie gras during my stay in Vence, but Le Saint Martin served the most memorable one ever. And the beef and the various cheeses courses were also phenomenal. They also make their own sweet wine (or cognac), nicely aged, and very smooth to the last drop. I would come back just for another sip. Highly recommended. Make the reservations. Come a little early to take on the views, and hang out in their lounge.

All staff are incredibly gracious and welcoming, English speaking as well so if I needed anything and my french husband wasn't around I wasn't stranded. The hotel is located near Nice with shopping, beaches, shops to rent scooters or motorcycles (like we did!) and the airport but is far enough away it's peaceful and quiet, the hotel itself has quite a history of its own from the Knights Templar to Winston Churchill, it also has ruins on the property from the third century. This hotel is also home to an exquisite two star Michelin restaurant, while it is a bit pricey I would definitely recommend you make a reservation and dine in, the only downside is they allow smoking in the restaurant, what a great way to ruin a meal... My only other quibble is the bar is quite over priced, the drinks are good and I cannot fault them for quality but a €28 cocktail is a very poor value.

Highly recommended restaurant in Vence…read more 3 course meal for under €40. And you get great a view of the country side too. This is a no brainer. Me and a buddy spent a few days in Vence and dined a lot while we were here. Had several foie gras throughout the week and this place (although the foie gras itself is the same as the other restaurants) garnished it with very nice fruit and some greens. Paired well with the foie gras, making it not to rich and fatty. Totally recommend the beef fillet. Nice and juicy. And with a nice bottle of bourdeux, the beef just melts in your mouth. Depending on the time of year, the mosquitoes do become an annoyance if you're eating out in the patio while enjoying the views, so bring some bug spray (just in case).

Or, at least, they were French tourists. The food was excellent, with every dish beautifully presented and very tasty. I noticed that, for my American palette, the dishes were under salted, but they provided this wonderful herb salt with the main course that added a more luscious flavor to the steak I ordered. The avocado salad was simply amazing; the best dish I've had so far in France on this trip. Service was a bit rushed as the server seemed somewhat impatient with our bad French, but I can understand as they seemed to be understaffed. Bathrooms: very small, but beautifully decorated and very, very clean. I love the gold fish art piece and the bit of exposed stone wall. (See photos)

This darling and refined establishment is owned by the chef and his wife, lovely people. The art is fascinatingly eclectic on the walls and the music selections were perfect - Sinatra, Natalie Cole, etc. First, the reception by our host was charming and gracious. Service was impeccable, yet relaxed. A glass of champagne started the evening. We both had the same meal: first, the pumpkin soup with foie gras was simply amazing with nuanced flavors and balanced richness. Our main course was sea breem cooked perfectly, and I still have yet to understand just how the fish maintained a good temperature throughout a leisurely meal, down to the last bite. The wine pairing was superb (suggestion of the hostess). Lastly, the chocolate mousse (my favorite desert - if I have had it once I have had it 100 times) was simply ethereal. It is hard to imagine a mousse so distinctly rich and flavorful while being so LIGHT. It was to marvel over! The kindness and cordiality of the owners was a veritable joy and added immensely to our enjoyment of the evening. It is rare to have a dining experience that is PERFECT in every measurable way. This was that rare event. We heartily recommend this lovely restaurant and cherish the opportunity to return again on our next trip.

There is a limited menu....no Duck was available so I took note of what other diners were eating. A few diners were enjoying Steak Tartare, not my thing but that lead me to their "Italian Burger" hell if folks will enjoy their raw beef, their burger must be unbelievable. I was right, large burger cooked to a perfect juicy medium with sautéed pancetta and onions, melted mozzarella, tomato and lettuce on a brioche bun....perfect....delicious.....outstanding My wife had the Spaghetti with clams, mild disappointment as a few clams had sand and the sauce was bland. It needed additional garlic and salt to say the least. We wrapped up win traditional creme brûlée which was wonderful. The service was friendly and we were able to communicate even with the language barrier. Prices are slightly high based on the touristy location.

We went there for lunch and my 3 years old was with us. We were given a table in the quieter room by the kitchen and it was lovely... until the very rude waiters came along. I thought it was one of the old school French attitude and was trying to scratch the surface to get them to joke but no. We just got very unpleasant service, and got really dry answers to our questions or inquiries. The food semi gastro was very average and quite tasteless to be honest. Despite the lovely set up, we will not go back after this negative experience.

The walls are stone, there are huge wooden beams, the lighting is subtle (but bright enough that you can read the menu!), and it is fairly well-spaced. I didn't pick up the tab as I went with family, but I am certain the price is a bit higher than what is listed on Google. Needless to say, it is a very delicious spot. We went for dinner, and though parking was rather complicated (especially when you have your 90 year old grandmother with you), it was very pleasant. We arrived relatively early, when only one other table was seated, and there were to serves (I believe the owners) waiting the tables. It got slower as the night progressed and other groups got there, so this is perhaps not a place to come by if you have definite plans right after. Food in France! What can go wrong? It was fresh, the flavours were present, and since we were a group, we had the choice of the different menus (they have set menus). Everything was very savory. Will probably go again; it would be nice to try the place at lunch instead this time.

The food was amazing, to put simply. My friends ordered variations of the ratatouille. Putting it inside a crepe is such a novel idea and mixed with egg just made it irresistible. After trying it I wished I had ordered the same. I, instead, chose to order the honey, chevre salad. Those are two things that should always be together on a salad. The sweet honey and the baked chevre are MOUTH WATERING. I am unsure of how this message has not been passed along to American restaurants yet. Please start doing this and I will eat salads daily (or maybe just more often than once a month). It had every flavor you could want from a salad and topped with bread to make even more delectable.
