It was cold with a few inches of snow and we had a snow blizzard on one of the days. However, the weather was beautiful because the sun came back right after. The hotel is adjacent to another Marriott hotel, the Residence Inn. It's funny that the two hotels are connected like a square box. So we walked to our room, the last Courtyard's room on the floor. We could keep walking if we wanted, but the next room was the Residence Inn. The only difference is the outside light for each Courtyard and the Residence Inn's room. If we keep walking past our room and use the other elevator, we will take the elevator down to the lobby of the Residence Inn. OK, enough with the floor plan. This architectural speech makes me sound so smart! Only sound, don't worry, I'm not smart. My parents thought I was smart once, then I don't know what happened LOL! The room was very nice and clean. The carpet looked old but clean. The room was fully equipped with a microwave, a small fridge, and a safe. The hotel has an indoor pool that accommodates guests from the Courtyard and the Residence Inn, but it's never crowded, and almost no one uses it. Also, we had a chance to use the sauna. Avi from the Front Office was nice enough to show us how to get to the swimming pool because it was hidden on the mezzanine floor. We dined at the hotel a few times because the food was great. They had a nice avocado and eggs, steaks, wings, etc. We enjoyed the night at the lobby and talked to the staff members when they were not busy. They're so lovely. The woman at the Front Desk was very sweet, Zayeda? The coffee maker at the lobby was tricky at first. Hubby and I tried to make coffee and saw that it kept charging, but no coffee. The night manager, Michael, explained that we don't have to worry because the charges would disappear if we didn't get coffee until we pressed the last button "make my coffee." There are a lot of steps, so you may think you finish after you pay, but no, keep going. He was right lol! Who invented this crazy machine ha! We need to talk! We had a great time staying here and will stay here again if we return to Montreal. The location is great and the price is affordable. Highly Recommended!

(With in/out). Secured, underground garage and the way to go as the alternative was street parking. I had a King room on the 5th floor. Good size with mini fridge and microwave. Modern Decor and newer hotel. Quiet floor and comfortable mattress so slept well. Spacious fitness room with a variety of cardio equipment and free/machine weights. Indoor pool was a good size and enjoyed the Dry Sauna. Surprisingly there was a conference on Saturday (on the 2nd floor). Breakfast is available and they had a self serve mini snacks area available. Suggestion for improvement would be turnaround to repair the elevator. One of them wasn't working for my entire stay which made for some waiting. Service was friendly and engaged. There is a Residence Inn next door and shares the parking garage. The famous Orange Julep is just a minute away. Would definitely stay again based on location and amenities.

This place definitely took great care at check in to make sure I felt welcomed, including asking me if I had any questions. She went over everything I needed to know about the property. When I got to the room I was impressed with the size of it - it was pretty large, with lots of open space, a decent desk, plenty of seating, and a very nice, clean, and comfortable bed which was fitted with ironed sheets! The TV in the room was disproportionately small and their streaming channel options were limited, but I made the best of it, as it's mostly background noise while I'm working anyway. The location is decent, only a couple of blocks from the Rue Sainte-Catherine shopping and dining area, which also has the Complexe Desjardins (a mall). There's a Metro station a block away as well. They have a decent size gym with all the normal stuff and a pretty nice, two-level lounge for those with access via their loyalty level. Overall, I'm enjoying the stay here and would return!

The TV did not work, even with all the fooling around with the weird set up they had. I just got 1 channel and it was in green and white. The doorknob was loose (safety hazard) bathtub was dirty, bumps in the floor. And of course their hospitality left a lot to be desired. How about some TV? You're out of luck, here's a tiny monitor bolted to the ceiling. The worst part, however, is the bed. The tiny, uncomfortable, horrible bed. It's a small twin that's clearly seen better days, and feels way too hard and springy to provide any rest or relaxation. I barely slept that first night and my feet were hanging off the end of the bed the whole time. It enraged me, to put it mildly. I spent the following day dreading going back to that dump, but fortunately (I guess) I became violently ill and we decided to cut our trip short. We had pre-paid for three nights and now we weren't going to use two of them, but do you think they refunded our money for the days were weren't going to be there? Of course not! We were offered a free night on a return visit, but that's gonna be the hardest of passes from me. So we essentially paid $475 for a one night stay at the worst motel I've ever had the displeasure of encountering. I'm astonished Auberge St. Jacques has managed to hang around for so long. Please, please, please, learn from my awful experience and stay somewhere else. *Anywhere* else.

If you had the same comparative price point in the US where we're from, you would see how good this place really is. Either the people here expect a five star uber hotel at this price point, or they haven't really travelled many places. At this price point in DC, Denver, Raleigh and Miami, you can expect a much less. At Auberge St Jacques the beds were clean, no bed bugs, everything that was provided in the room worked, the wifi was accessible and also worked without hiccups. The bathroom was extremely clean and frankly larger than anything you'd find in the US at this price point. You could fit a compact car in that bathroom! Yes, the bar stools are stiff along a mini corner bar, but if you go to any motel at this price point in the US, you won't even have a bar stool. Also, they have soft two ply toilet paper!!! I've been to hotels double this price point where they used the cheap one ply paper toilet paper, so this place even made sure my comfort extended even into the bathroom. I don't know about others, but I don't choose a place to temporarily stay based on the minor amenities like some have based their reviews on. This review isn't based on a bar stool, toilet paper or even a tv. This review is based on comfort. Now, the only thing that I would say is a negative about this hotel is, for the time being, it's located across from an empty lot. It's an eyesore and it's hideous. The accommodations and service at this hotel were great. The ground floor has a bank of elevators and you have to take them to the third floor to reach the hotel lobby. Check in was fast and courteous. The room was very chic and had thoughtful great built ins for storing clothing and shoes. The bed was very comfortable and had excellent pillows. I woke up each day feeling rested, which I think was in no small part due to the mattress and pillows being great quality. Toiletries were BYREDO Gypsy Water- a perfect choice to complement the elegant and modern decor. We stayed on the 6th floor which was a big plus for me since that put us right next to the gym and indoor pool facilities. The gym was well equipped and had complementary fruit infused water, aroma therapy cold towels and nutrigrain bars available post-workout. I did swim in the indoor pool which was beautiful architecturally, but at the time there was a huge family with screaming children, so it was a cacophonous experience. Definitely check it out, as you'll no doubt be impressed, but maybe go in the morning when it's less likely to draw droves of people. The staff at this hotel were all very friendly, especially the doormen who run a taxi queue across the street. Whether we were taking public transit, walking or taxis; we found the location of the Four Seasons to be too-notch, so the beautiful facilities and the friendly service were the cherry on top.
