I came to see Vince after looking at his IG at previous hair transformation form the typical dark Asian hair to beautiful blue locks..I had been trying to find the right stylist that would be able to make sure it was a healthy process and after emailing Vince to let him know what I wanted or was in trying to achieve he discussed further during our visit what he thought would work the best. It was about a 3-4hr process but was the best way to achieve the correct tone after bleaching. Something that he takes very seriously to achieve the vibrancy of color and adhesion of color to the hair. This is the worst haircut I have received in over a decade. Vince did not listen to my requests for my haircut and instead proceeded to destroy my hair's volume with excessive layers for "blending." He even asked I had extensions due to the density of my hair on the crown and back of my head.. I have maintained a simple cut with long layers for many years. Now it is thinned and flat without any texture. I will have to wait at least 4 months for my hair to start looking and feeling normal again. Responding to the owners comments: The length in the front framing my face is not the issue. It is the layers in the back of my head that resulted in diminished overall volume. You said you needed to "de-bulk" that area since my hair was so thick/dense there. But as a result, my hair style has been ruined. My close friends and family were shocked at the outcome. When I first arrived you asked if I had extensions. My hair is not frizzy. It is straight with some slight wave when it is humid. I had some surface fly aways at the end of the day with it being dry and having some split ends. I normally do not blow dry my hair and do not typically have this issue. read more

Because of great reviews on yelp, I made an appointment with Vince to get a hair cut and color. My hair came down to my chest, and I wanted a shorter hair that came down to my chin and a lighter color than my natural hair color. Let me start with the pro, the hair color, I really like. The con, my hair is A LOT shorter than what I asked for. Chin length was I asked, and he even asked if I wanted the hair little longer than chin length so it touches my chin when I style my hair, which I confirmed. I wanted some layers to frame my face, but let's just say once he cut my hair, it was so much shorter than what I wished that I didn't even bother asking for the layers. I went there about two weeks ago, and I am writing this review now because I am finally getting over this hair style. I trust Vince with my hair, and I don't do that often. My hair is thick and frizzy and irregularly wavy. Vince does a beautiful Keratin treatment that calms it, makes it easy to style and looks great. I get so many compliments on it (even from my mom!) I can ask him all the stupid questions about hair and not to worry about other people might hear. :D When it comes to hair, Vince is a color GOD. Over the years, I have had super short, long, medium length hair, from dark chocolate to cool blond, from balayage to just simple root touch up...Each time, he delivers above my expectation, and my hair always feels refreshed and healthy. Vince always takes his time to ensure the quality and the health of your hair no matter when it's an hour job, 3 hours job, or even 5, 6 hours job. His judgment and technique are impeccable. Over the years, I also came to know that he usually travels a few times a year to Vegas and other places to learn new color techniques and new products. To me, it is very important to know that my colorist, who is already great, but still always strives to be greater. Last but not least, his new work hours are very flexible. It works well for working professional clients who usually work from 9am to 5pm and find it's difficult to have their hair done because most salon would be closed by 7pm. Really weird experience here. He was super judgmental about my hair, which was a very brassy blonde at that point. I booked an appointment for full highlights and he kept going on about how customers don't understand that he can't do what they want him to do to their hair and that my hair color is naturally dark and I can't go to the lightness I showed him. I was very understanding because when I was showing him the pictures I had, I was saying I don't want this level of lightness, but I want this tone (my hair was super brassy and I'm not a professional, but I would guess at least a level 7/8 blonde). Please listen more carefully. I then said perhaps we can just do a toner because I've done that before and it was darker for a few days, but went back to a nicely toned blonde after a few washes. I reaffirmed to him that I am not trying to go platinum blonde today, that I'm simply looking for an improvement in my hair tone. He insisted it would be too dark if he did a toner and he couldn't do that and basically nicely told me to leave and wished me luck. Thankfully I went to hair social the same day for a toner and my hair is now back to normal! A nice golden and not brassy blonde!
