Clearly, a timely response to paying customers by management is an issue judging by all these reviews....... ***I'm now being hounded to pay a $25 fee from last April, or the bill will be sent to collections. The manager Josh was extremely rude and not helpful. Avoid this place at all costs, you seem to get treated like trash if you don't fit their mold. Why am I being hounded for a fee that you've waived for other members? I was told to give my card information over the phone so they can charge me, and got nothing but sass and attitude from the manager. Extremely poor customer service seems to be the go to here.

While encouraging getting fit and maintaining a healthy lifestyle, Modern Fitness has created a community space where you feel like you belong! Thank you to Chris, Jonathan, Lauren, Lee, and Jacob for opening the doors to us for a Yelp event and sharing what they love about Modern Fitness while still taking us through a tough workout! We started off with a quick tour of the gym before launching into things. Half the group began with stretching and discussion on fitness training while the other group ran through a circuit of tire jumps, sled push/pull, TRX bands, lunges, battle ropes, and kettlebell lifts. While being a tough workout, it was super fun and kept you up and moving so it felt like it was over in no time! And then each group switched and finished off with stretching or the workout! After joining up with a full membership, I've gotten to try a variety of their group fitness classes and get to hang out with each trainer. Each has their out personality that carries over into the way they plan and take you through their workout. Chris is methodical and helpful, showing you how each exercise works and how it can work for you. Lauren loves to do SO MUCH and ALL AT ONCE, making sure that every last muscle in your body is worked out by the end. Lee has aptly named his workouts "Full Body Meltdowns" since you are up and moving the entire time til you feel like your body is melting (in a good way). And, together, they make Modern Fitness a family. You truly feel welcomed in and appreciated. They even have the gym pups which add another layer of fun and family atmosphere to the place. They have a traditional gym membership or you can take whatever group classes you want. The equipment list is pretty comprehensive, lots of rogue bars, racks, boxes etc. They have a GHD and dumbbells to 100's. They have a few speciality bars and some strong man type stuff. The only downfall I can see is they only have bumper plates. Not a big deal unless you lift really heavy. The other huge plus is they have dogs in the gym. Who doesn't love a puppy?

About 2 years ago, I included the following in my original review:…read more"There are excellent facilities available surrounding the pool (lockers, lounge chairs) A slight downside is that the hours for the pool are broken up on weekdays, that is there are a few hours when the Aquatic Center is not open for public swimming, so that attention to schedule is important." The schedule issue remains; I ignored my earlier advice and arrived about 11AM one day when I forgot that reopening was at 11:30AM. This seemed to concern the staff some as the facility does not always physically block entry when staff are absent. Hours are actually easy to find posted online, and phone calls are answered promptly, so that it is a good idea to check for any change in schedules. There are occasionally closings due to special events or lightning, so that attending to schedule seems like a good idea for several reasons. A minor change between my earlier review and this update is that very few convenient lockers remain open for daily use. Even some lockers without doors have belongings left in them for weeks. Leaving valuables locked in a car, or being prepared to use small floor level lockers, would be a good idea as well. The 4 star rating still seems deserved as the facility continues to be well-maintained and well staffed.

While it isn't free (students pay $2, public pays $4) it's a great option to get a swim workout in. The facilities include locker rooms, showers, etc. There is a diving tower, diving dryland area, a 25 meter short course pool, and a 50 meter Olympic size pool. I easily found a lane and had a great workout. The facilities are clean and the lifeguards were so friendly. About 30 minutes into my workout we had to evacuate for thunder, and they gave me a rain check to come back for free since my workout was cut short. I will definitely be back often!

I was given 24 hour access which I enjoyed given that there was no staff the day after Christmas or on Sunday. The equipment is state of the art and it was never crowded...well, how could it be crowded if you can workout at 3 am??...not that I would know...I need my beauty rest! :-) I definitely will be back when I visit family!
