And the savings account has an interest rate over 2%, which is better than you'll get in most money markets these days. So financially it's a good pick. They also give you some cash back on card purchases, and refund ATM fees from other banks so you can get cash anywhere. Also, unlike my previous bank, they were able to set up my personal and business accounts in one portfolio so I can transfer money easily from business to personal, instead of having to walk into the bank with a paper check like I did in the last place. Best of all, the customer service is awesome! They've taken care of everything I need, quickly and cheerfully. They'll call you personally if you make a mistake, and cut you a little slack if you go below zero in the account for a day or so before a deposit comes in. I actually *like* going to the bank. The staff makes a point of getting to know customers, and they'll greet you by name and talk for a bit if you have time. Usually they offer me coffee or cookies or a bottle of cold water when I go in. Their hours are good too, open a little later than some banks. All in all an A+ so far.

What means so much to me is the skill they used to make sure it was not a scam, that I was not being held at ransom, and in the winter hours when it's dark at 4pm. They were concerned that I get to my destination with the large sum of cash. The time I needed a loan for a car and the professional process that was almost as quick as grubhub . Monday, when I closed on my house, Nicki and Kim used ingenuity, technological expertise, personal integrity, professional responsibility and care to make it happen on an impossible schedule. I have two accounts, so it wasn't a big deal I just transferred money around via the app. I was going on vacation; I stopped in at the Newton branch and Ryan Wong greeted me, he was very polite, cheerful and eager to help. Not only did he put the vacation dates on my card he figured out what was wrong with my primary checking account and printed me a new card I tried it at the ATM and WA LA success :) Not only did Ryan help with my vacation request and fix my card he followed up via email with instructions on how I can sent vacation request through the app. Ryan went above and beyond; I want to make sure he gets the recognition he deserves. As such, I switched to Luso-American since their two locations are convenient for me. Staff there are very personable, friendly and helpful. Their rates and fees are much lower than my prior credit union. So far I really like them and feel that they are a very customer-centric financial institution.

They have awesome rates, great benefits/perks, such nice people (and they had snacks!). I've been trying to convince everyone to change to this bank haha. Since this one is a new branch, they are having a promo and you can sign up I think until April, and their interest rate is literally double what i was getting at my old bank. They also give you $15/month towards ATM fees. Their own ATMs are free, but if you went to like a Bank of America, they usually charge you. Well, that's what this $15 is for, it will cover those fees. Oh probably most important is the 1% cashback every time you swipe. Amazing. Of course, there are a lot more benefits but it may change from branch to branch, these are just some of the ones at this branch. If you are wavering with your bank. definitely switch to this one. And even if you're not wavering....look into this. You will probably like what you see! :)
