This is a review of our consultation experience and lack of follow up only. I'm sure if you had…read moreregular orthodontic needs this would be a great place to go. The office is clean, modern and friendly. The patients seem happy too! The dr is very nice & down to earth. I noticed a warm bedside manner with her patients. She was very approachable and I truly liked her. So it honestly isn't fun for me to write this review. At the same time, I've given every opportunity for redemption but unfortunately that hasn't happened nor do I expect it to. We went in for a consultation in early part of April -4/9 to be exact where I was told I had to be in attendance due to financial responsibility. I was surprised by that as I haven't been responsible for some time for my daughter's medical/dental. No matter, I gladly cleared my schedule to help my daughter. The office was beautiful and the staff was friendly and welcoming & so was the Dr. so. . . What's the issue? * We waited and waited most of the time for our appt. we were there in the office easily for two hours. A consultation should never ever take that long. Some of that time was used for X-rays and such. * the dr wasn't sure how to handle our case- which I'm not surprised as it is complicated- so obviously she wasn't able to quote a price- disappointing but understandable she said she would consult with other Drs about the case and get in touch with us. No issue for us * There was no response to my message through yelp in later April and no response for weeks after our consultation. * I called explaining that a follow up would have been nice even if the dr didn't want to take our case which prompted an e-mail to my daughter saying they are working on it (that gave me some hope) * no response so far after that I understand we aren't "real" patients but we really were hoping to possibly be. This was my experience. This was a complete waste of our time. I would have appreciated it if we were told that the Dr didn't want to take on the case, rather than being hopeful for a treatment plan, a plan which we may have pursued or not pursued.

I'm an adult who was seen by the McSurdy Smile Specialists for Invisalign orthodontics for myself,…read moreroughly 2019-2021. I'd have characterized the experience as "okay" at the time, but it's the legacy of how my retainers fit, and how easily the problems turned out to be to resolve by another dentist, that prompt this 1-star review. My only complaint during the work was that visits were very assembly-line; if I wanted a dentists expertise or to have particular questions answered, I had to push and push. Everything was always "normal" or "just fine," but it's not an office that likes to explain things. This alone, plus good orthodontics - I'd still have given 4 stars and chalked it up to personality. When my orthodontia finished, I was 100% happy with the appearance of my teeth. Still am. But despite their appearance, they felt funny. My bite wasn't lining up right (to my perception), and some of my front teeth kept clipping each other when I chewed or spoke. We had a long chat about the reasons for this, and the upshot was that it was normal for teeth to "feel weird" after orthodontia and that I'd get used to the new arrangement. Some people's jaw, I was told, simply sit in their face in a way that makes the teeth perfectly well aligned, but feel like they're not. Retainers came. They hurt more than any set of Invisaligners had, which told me that they were moving my teeth. But again, the folks at McSurdy's reviewed the fit, said my mouth would adjust, and to give it time. The retainers were big and thick and chewy, which made my grinding worse. I check backed 6-8 months later. My teeth were still hurting every night; I was grinding like I hadn't since I was a kid; my sleep was disturbed because of it. "Just the way it is" was the message from McSurdy's. Fast forward 3 yrs, I mention all of this to my new dentist, who is also an Invisalign provider. HE FIXED THE PROBLEMS IN ONE VISIT. New retainers that aren't thick and chewy stopped the grinding (Invisalign brand, by the way - why the heck didn't McSurdy offer me these?!?!). We were about to embark on a process to abate the teeth-clanking problem, but the new retainers fixed that was well - my teeth were just ever so slightly out of alignment... and I was making the problem worse every night with the old retainers. New retainers fit like gloves. No pain, no discomfort, better dental health, and problem solved. I can't help but think that if someone at McSurdy's had stopped placating me long enough to hear my words, we could have solved these problems years ago.

I've been to dentists in several…read morestates, and unfortunately this was by far the worst customer service experience I've encountered. To be fair, the dental hygienist was excellent, and the doctor explained my decaying tooth clearly and professionally. My issue was entirely with the front desk staff. I simply asked for clarification regarding the amount I paid out of pocket after insurance, especially since I had previously emailed my question and never received a response. During my follow-up cleaning appointment, I brought the question up in person, but the interaction became extremely uncomfortable. The front desk employee was loud, dismissive, and repeatedly interrupted me without allowing me to explain my concern. She kept repeating the same response louder each time instead of trying to help resolve the issue. I left the office feeling very upset and disrespected. It's unfortunate because the clinical care itself was good, but poor customer service completely overshadowed the experience. I truly hope the office improves how patients are treated at the front desk. Unfortunately, I will not be returning.

I've witnessed the front desk turn a teenager away for service bc she didn't have the money upfront, but kept her deposit for the appointment. Gotta be a HIPPA violation. They rope you into Invisalign with their partner who has some technicians with pock mark blisters from drugs all over their arms. They treat the Dentists Mother and give her all of the supplies that are meant for paying customers. My advice? Find a place that actually cares about your treatment.
