Do NOT let these people come to your house. After the sales pitch, I was quoted $3,300 for my very small house. When I said that was not in my price range, he continued to drop the price all the way down to $1,100. At this point I was uncomfortable b/c he was putting so much pressure on me saying I needed to decide right then. When I said that I needed to think about it still, he said "Well, I don't know if you work for free, but I drove 60 miles down here for nothing." He then threw his things in his bag and stomped out of here like a 5 year old child. I live in Atlanta, so I'm pretty sure that have a representative that lives closer than 60 miles away. I didn't even want someone to come to my house, I just filled the form out online to see their prices, but the phone rep said they couldn't give me those w/o sending someone to my house. The salesman came in the wrong day and when I pointed it out, he became very defensive and insisted on making the pitch by making us feel guilty about wasting his time. In COVID times, we require anyone coming to our home (even outside) to wear a real mask properly. He did not and would not. Just wore a kerchief over half his nose. It fell off twice. I had a contract to complete my whole house with the system and waited three weeks for the install. I stayed home from work on the day the installation was scheduled. The company called at 11:15am the day of the install to tell me they had to reschedule for the next day. At 11:00am the next day, they called to tell me they needed to reschedule for the following week. Cleary the company is poorly managed and service is a low priority. I canceled the contract. I was worried the poor customer service would also affect warranty claims. Not taking the chance at the cost they charge. read more

Their is no customer service. Once they are installed and paid for you are on your own. They have lots of loop holes built into your contract so they do not have to service you if you have a problem without you paying for a service call. Very difficult company to work with. read more

Signed a contract for repair service to be completed in April 2021, installer showed with wrong equipment and left without doing the job. Called for 4 weeks to reschedule but no one in the San Antonio office would return phone calls, finally received a phone call from a manager who was "in charge" of all of Texas only to say he cancelled my job because the gutters were too high. This parent company of Leaf Filter has a branch in Sacramento, CA and probably does not know their salesmen are poorly trained and end up insulting the homeowner with their tactics and demeanor. The Leaf Filter looks like a quality product. The estimate for 214 feet of 5 inch filter started at $10,000 and just before driving away he offered a special commercial account price of $3,600. I had these guys out on September 9th to put up gutters. They arrived to hours late. I had called when they were 1.5 hours late and was to "they are on their way. The showed up late in the day got to work, after an hour the rang my doorbell and I went outside to see what they wanted. There was only one guy working (this is a 2 man job, should have taken about 2 hours). I guy told me that "they" had loaded his truck with the wrong gutters. He would have to comeback tomorrow at 9:30. Next day late again. Shows up at about 11:00 starts to work. Works all day, husband comes home at 4:00 and talks with him. He tells husband that he is an apprentice and this is his 2nd job by himself. AT 8:30 he is still working. Calls husband outside, tells him he is having a problem with one corner must comeback tomorrow (Can't see by this time dark). Comes back the next day approximately 10:00 finishes in a hours. Wrote him a check for full amount. Today 9/23/2019, Husband found a piece of gutter on the ground 6:00 a.m. Called them they are coming sometime tomorrow 1-5:00 for repair. So this 2 hour job has taken up 4 days of my life. Hence, I am here. read more

OK. So I paid a lot of money to get leaf filter on the troubled areas of my house. They said they would seal several leaks but the seals only lasted a few months before they leaked again. I actually sealed the ones I could get to myself with flex seal which has worked so far. As for never being able to clean your gutters again fact is debris still accumulate on the top of the leaf filter which need to be cleaned periodically. When this happens water just cascades over the leaf filter instead of going into the gutter. After paying so much money I feel things should be much better. Yes leaf filter is very expensive. Nobody ever followed up to see if I was happy or not. My advice is go with the cheapest cover you can get because nothing is going to work perfectly. Do something else with the monies you will save. read more

Been waiting for 2 months to get extensions to gutters installed. The guy that did the estimate said the gutters would come out 1 and 1/2 to 2 feet from the house to be away from foundation of the house. They installed them dumping right at the bottom of the down spout, which started diging holes. I have called numerous times to have them come out and fix this. They keep saying someone will be here so and so day, but no one shows up. I am waiting right now on some one to show up that said they woul;d be here before noon it is now 11:40 and I will believe it when I see it. Company will take your money and forget about you. Update: They came out and put the extensions in, but they were the wrong color. They came back today but they had the same color as before. A salesman came out today to quote us for new gutters on our house. He was not very knowledgeable when it came to the product and had to keep sending a text to someone from the company to answer questions such as what gauge of metal the gutters were and what type of warranty they came. When he had the quote ready he asked where I heard about them. when I told him where I heard about the company he said I qualified for a 15% discount for mentioning the name though he wrote a different name than what I said on the paper. When I told him that I wanted some time to think about it he offered to double the discount to 30%, if I signed today. I told him to wait for a few minutes and went to talk to my wife. We looked at the reviews for the company and crunched some numbers and decided not to go with them. At this point he became rather snippy with me and talked about driving over half an hour to give us the quote and said that he would not be able to come back out on our schedule just to sign the contract that it would have to be when he was in the area for another quote if we changed our minds and wanted to go with them. We live in a 25 mph zone. When he left, he took off very fast and by the time he got to the next property which is about a quarter of a mile he was easily doing 50 mph. This was reckless and totally inappropriate. The product sample he had seemed inferior to the other company that gave us a quote. This company uses the blind hangers every 6 ft whereas the other company puts them up every 24 in. The gutters from this company are uncoated on the inside whereas the other one was coated inside and out. Needless to say, I will not be hiring them to do my work. read more

I spent more than $7,000 dollars in 2020 to have these filters added to the gutters of my small home in Novato, CA. The product is actually quite good and it seems to be doing an adequate job. This was an expensive home improvement, but I thought it was probably a good idea to keep my gutters clear of leaves and debris. The problem I am having, is now they are cold calling me relentlessly about getting this done to my home. When I explain that I have already had this accomplished and to please stop calling me my request seems to be disregarded. They call at least once a week and I simply don't answer it any longer. In a moment of weakness today I picked up the phone and screamed at the little saleswoman/cold caller to take me off their FXXXing list and hung up. This company convinced us to just get their gutter system outside of the stainless steel filters by giving us a discount. The discount required a call to the sales rep's manager which was approved and solidified in a signed agreement. A date for installation was set but come the day of installation, the company was a no show. In the end, after calling to find out status, it turned out that there was an internal dispute with the final cost of the gutters being below cost. They eventually called us back to ask us for an additional ~$150. To me, this is a clear bait and switch BUT they hooked my spouse to agree! Lame shameless company wasting so much of our time with the fake negotiation! I can see why they are already rated very low in the business! I requested a quote online and received a phone call response almost immediately and made arrangements for the free quote the next day. Rep was supposed to arrive a 7 p.m. and around 6.45 p.m. I get a call that the rep was stuck in heavy traffic and would be there no later than 8 p.m. I said, no thanks, that's way too late, besides it'll be too dark by then. The operator proceeds to say their reps are fully equipped with lighting so not to worry and we can give you an added discount for your trouble. Like an idiot, I said okay. The rep shows up about 15 minutes past 8 p.m. I say, "where you coming from?" (He names the town which is a stone's throw away from me) "there was that much traffic from there to here?" And he says, oh no, the client I was with took a really long time. At this point I'm feeling had. Anyway, long story short (or long) we do the walk-around and the rep says I'll be in in 10 minutes with a quote. When he comes back he starts his pitch using a huge presentation binder. It's pushing 9.00 p.m. and I don't have time to listen to his spiel, I just want to know how much it will cost. I tell him as much and we finally get to a number. The quote was so ridiculously high, it was actually nearly ten grand! Seriously. Then I asked if that included the 15% special discount and the additional discount the operator said I could get for my trouble. He then provided me the 15% discount and said I would have to call the office to see what other discount they could offer me. Still, $8500 for 200 ft of gutters? Anyway, I told him frankly that was quite high for what I thought it would cost. I was thinking $3500 at most because I have a small 2 story house. So long story short, he gets on the phone with his "boss" offering no context to my scenario at all -- come to think of it, he didn't even say who he was to the guy that answered the phone. They offer me this "commercial" discount which would bring my quote down to $4200. To me, that's a wild spread between what their original quote ... I say great, thank you, I'm still getting quotes from other companies and will let you know. Then the rep tells me he can only offer that amount if I commit right then and there, otherwise I have the $8500 quote good for a year. Really? In summary, they may have a good product, but I feel because of that they focus more on how much money they can get from the customer rather than offering you the best value for you money. read more

That's because nothing gets into the gutter, not even water. The mess becomes coated with algae and pollen so the water runs over it and over the edge of the gutter. Don't buy this system. Asked for quote online. Was called immediately. Appointment set up for 7 pm on March 9th, 2020. Which we felt was odd as it would be dark. However, Kevin showed up, inspected and measured. We came to an agreement on work, price, etc. Work date was booked for Thursday March 12th, 2020. Day came and the Ottawa Office called me, Jeff, to say they needed the hydro shut off to complete the work. Which the estimator did not mention once during his inspection. Regardless, i called Ontario Hydro, got a date of Friday March 20, 2020 to have the power shut off at 9 am. I called Jeff, yes this worked for the workman. On the morning of Friday March 20, 2020, 8:24 am, Ontario Hydro is out front of my house, called me to ensure I wanted the power shut off, big storm coming and the Covid 19. I asked them to wait, I would contact Leaf Filter to ensure still coming to do the work that day. As Hydro will turn off your power once a year at no cost, but more than that you have to pay for the service. I called Jeff at 8:25 am on Friday March 20, 2020... Are you still coming? Hydro outside waiting for word to shut off the power. Jeff's response, oh ***, that is right, we are supposed to do that today. I will check with the contractor and get back to you. I reminded him that hydro would be turning off the power at 9 am and to have them return will cost me money, that I need an answer by 9 am. I called Jeff's number over 20 times trying to get an answer before 9 am. At 9 am, when I had not heard back from Jeff, I asked Ontario Hydro to not turn my power off. Between the big storm coming, Covid 19, home self isolating, I did not want to take the chance of having no power for the day without the work being done, what if Ontario Hydro could not get back to me right away to get my power back on at end of day, storm, Covid 19, etc. Jeff called me back at 9:34 am on Friday morning to say that yes they could do the work that day. I told him that I had asked Ontario Hydro not to turn off the power, that I had tried to reach him many times before 9 am, that I had told him that I needed an answer before 9 am, and that I would not be paying to have Ontario Hydro coming out again. That they would have to take it off the cost of the installation. His reply was "then we have a problem, I dont care how many times you tried to call me". I replied, "yes we do have a problem, cause I am not paying". He responded that he will cancel the work order". My response, "that is fine, i have made a $200 deposit". He said he will send me a refund. About 30 mins later, the contractor called to chat. He was scheduled to do the work today, which he only found out about that morning. He asked what had happened? Totally understood my complaint. I would have been fine with the company called day before, we need to cancel, storm, Covid 19, social distancing, etc. I could have called to cancel Ontario Hydro. However, when someone starts out the business relationship this way, does not leave for good business practices. No one ever showed up for my install appointment. When I called customer service they were rude with me. The lady said we're in a different time zone I'll reach out to the San Jose office. I was trying to explain that I'm on vacation and this would be the time for them to come out while I'm on vacation. The lady said like I said we're in a different time zone. I have to reach out to the manager there. I don't even have my leaf filter gutter protection installed yet, they're already being jerks. I feel I needed to leave some comments after reading some of the negative reviews. I'm very happy with the product and the installation. The rep came to visit and did review the gutter design and some of their accolades but it was hardy a high-pressure sales pitch. The best part: they do not ask for a deposit and you only pay at the end of the installation. We were done in about 25 minutes and booked an installation appointment within a week. The first one fell through due to a work crew illness and I had to call to reschedule but was back on the schedule in another week. Crew showed up on time and had it done in about 4 hours. Gutters work perfectly and I'm glad I don't need to worry about clogging ever again. read more

We had LeafFilter gutters put on about 6 months ago. Low and behold water was flowing not down the gutters, but over the top like we didn't even have gutters. Water was flowing into our garage. We were reluctant to climb up a ladder to see what was going on because we're very old. My husband finally had to. Turns out the leaffilter was installed under a covering of roof shingles. The installers didn't tell us that our roof shingles overhung our gutters. Neither did they offer to trim them so the filter might actually work. We're trying to contact the company and are having no luck. read more

DO NOT BUY! A little over a year ago I saw this product at an outdoor show. Being an engineer I was intrigued as I could see the quality in the mesh system and figured as long as the water passed through the screen and into the gutter there was no doubt it should work as intended. I gave my info and was contacted by the company. We set up an appointment and the salesman arrived. He pulled out a ladder, took pictures of our 5 inch gutter system (which was newly installed 3 years earlier when our house was built) and assured us this product would work great on our house. After some back and forth on the price, I overpaid (and I knew it at the time) but figured I was getting a superior product that would last the rest of my lifetime (I'm 62). The installers arrived and inspected the gutters and told me there was no way they would recommend installing the leaf screen on the existing gutters and that I really needed 6 inch gutters. They called someone and the salesman called back and said we needed the larger gutters. He did give us a very good price on getting the larger gutters and did not upcharge us for the one inch wider screens. It took a full day but they got everything installed. Thus the one s Within a week we had our first rain and my wife and I felt sick as we watched water cascade down our metal roof and overshoot the gutters in several places and saw water dripping off the front edge of the gutters in many other locations. I called LeafFilter and was able to schedule an appointment for repair guys to come out in a few weeks. I took the day off work and 10 minutes after they were to arrive got a call from the scheduler that his guys would not be out. He was very apologetic and said pick any time and he would make sure his guys would be there. We scheduled for a week later. I again took the day off work and this time 30 minutes after they were suppose to arrive, got a call from the same scheduler who said they were busy and couldn't make it out again. The scheduler finally sent a repair guy out who took a look at everything, took photo's and sent them back to his boss. He said he could not adjust the long front gutter because that was a two person job but he did try (though unsuccessful) to prevent water from shooting down our valleys and over/under the gutters. The repair guy told me to call his boss (the scheduler) and tell him I needed 2 guys out to adjust the front gutter. Within one week I did call the scheduler who blamed his one guy as not being very good. I didn't care as all I wanted way my gutters not to leak. He said he would send two guys out one day that week. The week came and went and I was home all day and no one showed up though the boss said they did buy couldn't fix it until the next spring. During the winter I kept getting LeafFilter posts up on my Facebook feed. After feeling like these were rubbing salt into my wounds I felt very frustrated and started writing honest reviews and telling others to not buy this product and why. I was contacted by LeafFilter who saw my reviews and said they wanted to make things right. It was Feb. 14th and it was winter but they insisted that they wanted to send someone out to look at my roof and their gutter system. Within 2 hours the repair guy showed up and after hearing my issues apologized and said they would get ahold of me when the weather broke and he promised he personally would make the repairs and adjustments required so that we would have no leakage issues. 6 weeks went buy and I never heard back from LeafFilter so contacted them again. The repair man was suppose to come out again at 1 pm but to our surprise he showed up before 10 am. Unfortunately it was a new repair guy who I once again had to bring up to speed. He did make one adjustment on the front gutter, took photo's and left. Shortly his boss called and said the only way they could make their gutters work with my roof was for me to get the metal roof overhang cut back more or install spacers behind the gutters to get them out farther from the house. He said we would have to pay for their labor costs which would run $1200 as well as materials. I refused to pay for this when our originals smaller gutters worked fine and the salesman sold us a product that should have worked. The salesman I got was horrible, the first thing he tells me when I meet him at the door is that you have a big house and this product is pricey. I told him go ahead and tell me how much will it cost. So he comes back and gives me 2 quote, one residential and one commercial quote, The residential quote was like $35.5 per linear foot and Commercial was around $26 per linear foot. I told him right from the beginning that I have other quotes for similar product. And I told him that I will get back to him, he was upset and his tone changed. Pressure does not work on me. If I say NO its a BIG NO. I told him that I will reach hs office once i finalize with whom i want to go. He was so rude and he just walked out without saying a word. We had the gutter guards installed in April and new guttering installed on the back of our house as well, The gutter guards seem to be working fine however there is a problem with the newly installed gutters on the back of the house and we cannot get any customer service out of these guys.
