This is an organization that's business models is predation. They only care to charge you as much as possible and nothing more. The company specializes in naive, foolish customers who have no knowledge of this process. There is no justification for charging 100 dollars per linear foot for a product worth about a dollar and stoop labor to install it. I went to Home Depot and I got the gutter guards for $25.00 and installed them myself in a few hours. Get your own gutter guards at the local Home Depot and if your not able to climb a ladder or use a power screw driver then hire a handyman to do it with experience. I received a a quote and the guy gave me an absurd amount and told me I had to make a decision right then and there or I wouldn't get that discount. Now that's something that nobody can make a decision on right then and there, I thought that we had 12 months to make a decision? I even called the company back to complain about it and was told that is not how we do business and somebody called me back. Wow !!! I have not seen so many negative reviews for one company. I am glad I checked. I called them seeing amazing video on FB. Salesman showed up prompt at the appointment. After reviewing, he came with a quote of $ 6457. I said it was too steep. He asked what was I expecting. I said around $3500. He revised and came down to $5473. I still didn't budge. He asked if I could pay him by check and reduced it down to $4557. $2000 reduction in 3 minutes !!! This is NOT what the salesman insinuated when he sold me this system. I specifically ask about the top getting debris on it and he said it will blow right off. (It doesn't). If not they come out to clean them. What he didn't say was that's only for a year. After that its tough ####. Why the first year but not after that? DO the trees around me magically decide not to drop any seed pods or leaves after that? Oh they will come clean off the top, for a $95 service call. Service dept tells me the guarantee is only to clean the gutter itself. It will never need that since it can't get through all the blockage on top. Very high cost pitch. Long sales pitch. Didn't pick them for the work. Pricing was so high at first then they offered much much lower price.

I was initially happy with the system. It is pricey it was about $2400 for my gutters (About 3 runs I do not have expansive gutters). I had a good installation process everything was ok at first. The first rain the water poured over gutters in 2 areas. I was told they were high run off points they came out and put metal bars so the water would flow slower. That worked ok but now the screens are clogged (not the gutters) but the system is clogged and they need to be pressure washed. But I get to pay - quoted $100, I will pay I need this fixed. Now getting someone on the phone is difficult. Be careful the warranty is for the gutters getting clogged but nothing on the screen system. Living around all these trees the tops will get clogged and you will still be climbing a ladder or paying to get it fixed. I really wished I had just kept my $2400 and paid someone to clean out the gutters once a year, I would have saved a lot. read more

Can't go negative stars or I would. After reading other reviews here, I guess I was lucky. First salesman shows up & gives high price. When I laughed and asked if he was kidding, he feigned insult. Then walked away, came back & cut price significantly. By now my radar is buzzing & said I needed to think about it. Was told I had to sign that day to get price. I did not. About a week later salesman called with a still lower price. My intuition said uh-oh. About 3 weeks later received a text from another person, saying that due to covid19 & wanting to keep their installers working, he was authorized to offer install at cost. Since this was supposed to be a "real" offer, I called him to speak in person. I asked some questions & he said price would hold to "at least end of Sept. but probably till Oct". This was in July. Life got busy, there were other priorities. I then texted in Aug. several times to move forward. No response. Left voicemails. No response. Then on 9/4/20 another rep reached out with similar offer. I accepted via text by asking for install date. Was told "I'll have office contact you". One week, two weeks, nothing. I reach out to last rep via text. Nothing. Try to leave voicemail- full. Finally call 800 customer service. They give me # of office that 1st salesman works out of. I speak to receptionist/csr - she says someone will contact me. Nothing. Call again. Same spiel. Leave another message. Did someone call me? No. More text messages from yet another "manager" offering to do the job for the higher, inflated price! We're going backwards. BBB tried to help but was told by Leaf Filter that deal was only good till 7/31/20. Then why was I offered deal on 9/4/20? No one can tell me that. When I provided texts to prove it, now it's "we have no record of signed paperwork to that deal". Paperwork? How do I get paperwork during a text negotiation? BBB can't force them to honor a verbal and in writing (texts) contract. Beware!!! Bait & switch, high pressure tactics during sales calls. Disreputable negotiations. No response to customer calls. This quote was ONLY for the LeafFilter product. Suave*, my salesman was at the top of his game. After an hour of compliments, and a cup of coffee, he gave me his "spiel". Demonstrated the superiority of his product compared to competitors, showed a Consumers Report rating that of course rated his product "the best". (I could not find that article). So.....37' of LeafFilter installed would be $1625.... but he was going to deduct the 4 dozen Titleist ProV1 and 2 hand-poured candles I gave him to bring the grand total to $1575. Was I a sap? Taken for an idiot? Financially raped? Yes to all. Getting my wits about me I promptly called the company and cancelled my order. Within 30 minutes Suave* was back with his tail between his legs, sheepishly asking if I wanted my golf balls back. Long story short, when he left (with the golf balls!) the price was $545...over a $1000. difference! THEN I called a contractor friend (which I should have done initially) and was told a comparable material would cost about $50. and labor in these parts is $75. an hour. Knowing my home, he doubted it would take 2 hours. Unless my addition is wrong, that's a $345. difference. Obviously, I cancelled with LeafFilter I learned a lesson. What am I out? I signed up with them, not knowing the real price - for 140 linear feet around my rather simple rectangular roof they charged 4500$, promising a super-duper expensive technology. After that, their "crew" came as scheduled, which consisted of one small Korean man in a small truck with a ladder. He worked alone for 1.5-2. hrs, getting on and off the ladder. Modest and clean, no complaints there. The gutters looked old and jammed after that, and I felt cheated in terms of money. Rain protection so far stays, after many rains but I wish their salesmen-women were not so greedy and dishonest. Leaf Filter has an extensive télévision advertising campaign. I was interested in getting one of their free estimates for leaf filtering over my rain gutters. It was a horrible expérience! Their estimation quoted me a price of $8,000!!! When I didm't respond he asked me how much I would be willing to pay. Never heard of a company negotiating this way except may used car lots. Then his superviser contacted me a few days later and said they would go down to just under $3,000 for the same work. Needless to say I had no confidence in the integrity of the company. Based on service and customer service alone, I give it one star. Let's start from the beginning. After waiting around for approximately 2 months for an installation appointment, the filters were finally installed. Within weeks, the screen filters began getting loose. We knew this only after my husband went up onto the ladder just to check what these filters looked like and to make sure everything looked right. Screen filters were loose and falling out weeks after installment.. plus, they lifted up our asphalt roof tiles inappropriately, so much so that rain water was sleeping in. When we called back and asked to speak to a manager they said they would leave a message and have one call us back that there weren't any to speak to now. We've been waiting weeks to hear back from someone. Called again today, and told rep that we are waiting to speak to a manager. They asked what the problem was and we reiterated it again. They said the earliest somebody could come out would be in a month. My husband asked who the original installer was. The customer service rep couldn't even tell us....because she didn't know! So my husband said if something was stolen theoretically, how would we be able to find out. She couldn't answer.. They call you back IMMEDIATELY to get your business, but after that...crickets. The Leaf Filter system hasn't been installed as of this review. By reading the other reviews I can see that I'm being taken advantage of. I didn't shop around or do any research (my bad) but the price I was first quoted was $10,000 for just over 200' of gutters and the Leaf Filter system installed. They were going to slip it in with a commercial sale they made earlier to bring the price down by "volume" sales. They dropped it to $6,000 - still way to high. I'm going to cancel the contract. $6,000 for a little over 200' - that's $30 a foot ! Their ad states $35 a month at 0% interest - what a dream - for me that's payment until I die. At a standard 5 years with no interest - that's going to be $100 a month. Average by me is around $3,600 for such a small house with a garage. I'm being overcharged by $2,400 ! ! ! It's a shame that Leaf Filter would take advantage of a trusting person. Do your research and do NOT succumb to the high pressure sales tactics. These folks have been terrible since the sales call. The salesman was "slick" and made many claims that weren't true. The installation was postponed twice before someone showed up for the promised "4-hour one-day" job which took 9 hours over two days and was finished on a Sunday. During the final walk-through, I found a spot he missed and he berated me for not pointing it out earlier. Our bigger problems started 6 months later when Spring rains ran off the roof and over the gutters instead of into them. Plus, pine needles collect on the gutters and do NOT blow away over time. Hence the gutters are continually clogged and must be manually cleaned. What's the point of covering gutters if I have to still manually climb the roof to clean them? I asked for someone to come look at the problems and had two appointments cancelled the day of the appointment. I was then told there were no more appointments for over 6 weeks. When that day finally came - today - they called and cancelled again. Do NOT give money to this company which does not care about service after they take your money. read more

I saw the Leafilter product at an art fair in Palo Alto. Looked impressive. Made appointment to have the sales rep come out. He did. I have about 300 linear feet of gutter. He measured and then gave me his slick presentation complete with color sheets of glowing reviews, endorsements and new articles. Then he quoted a price of $16,000. That is $53 a foot. I told him that the price is way out of the ballpark. He then said he could the job for $12,000. I told him I would think about it. He proceeded to try and shame in to buying. Told me a had a multi-million dollar house in Silicon Valley that I need to protect from the harm that would surely befall me if I didn't buy today. It occurred to me that if it costs $300 a year to hire a handyman it would take 40 years to break even on the leaf filter deal. Crazy! I contracted with them to clean and repair gutter leaks. They did a horrible. My gutters are still plugged up and leaking. They were to install internal hangers. They did not. They were to install 2 small extensions to a couple of downspouts. They only installed 1. The installation tech had a poor attitude and gave the impression he only wanted to leave. I found this stupid system installed on the house I bought in 2006. I noticed more than 50% the rain flowing from the roof all around the house by passing the gutters. but i did not have enough money to change the system. over the last few years I found most of the rain just flowing direct on the ground all around the house like no gutter was there and no water was running through any of the downspouts. I had to climb around the house and check all the gutter sections to find 80% horizontal slots clogged mold, fine leaves and the worst thing was several hornets and bird nests where built there due to dry gutters. I found two hornets in each section of the gutter, one on each side. So I had to buy a dozen of hornet terminating cans, wake up early in the morning quietly remove one end cap at a time spray the nest while insects are still sleeping. when I was done with all, i purchased a complete box of good gutter screen tops, removed all existing shitty system tops until replaced all them. leaving one small section because when I opened I found a fresh bird's nest with newly hatched little birds and left them alone until they grew enough to fly away. My advise to who ever get a proposal to use this horrible system, discard it and kick the sales person out of the property because I am sure the know that they are selling garbage and trouble to poor innocent home owners. read more

The salesman made every promise you want to hear...everything will work just great. Ok, $3000.00 later the installation is a joke. All the advertisements show a nice neat gutter nestled up against the roof...not mine. Mine are hung from straps...Silver straps each with 2 screws drilled into my dark shingles. Really stand right out. Look cheap and cheezy..but that's not the worse part. They don't work. They don't maintain that 11 degree angle that "lets everything just slide off." Nope, they hang flat..they hand flat off those straps so that everything just piles up on top and STAYS THERE. I've called multiple times to have it repaired...they came once and said..."can't" they have to hang like that because you don't have a flush soffit. Well now, don't you think the salesman should have said something about that. So, I don't like those straps and I see no use for those screens come take them off and give me a refund. NOPE. delay, ignore, make appointments and never keep them...when I call the service number I'm on hold at least 20 minutes or more and then, all I get is another promise that someone will call.....but they don't. My advice. Pay some kid to clean your gutters and save a ton of money and aggravation. read more

BEWARE OF HIGH PRESSURE SALESMAN! We had the same bad experience (as Antoinette C.), with Leaf Filter Gutter Protection. The salesman's name....Brandon R. (from the branch in Fife, Washington State) I do not believe that it had anything to do with "who" her significant other was. My husband and I were treated terribly at the end of our appt. with Brandon. We made an appt. with Leaf Filter, to get an estimate only. We listened respectfully to Brandon's verrry long explanation of how their gutters work and how much better their gutters are, than any other gutter guards. At the end of it all, we were then given what the cost would be. It was not a price that we thought was affordable for us. .......The bid was $7,000.00 ($30.00 a sq. ft.) After we told him that we were surprised by the price....Brandon's demeanor totally changed. He became obviously upset and verbally aggressive. Repeatedly asking my husband "WHY" we could not afford it? Not that it was any of his business what our bank account looks like. Still..my husband maintained his composure and his continued respectfullness towards Brandon, even while my husband was being berated as a result of Brandon's dislike for the fact that we would not be making that kind of investment in their gutters. In a huff..Brandon shoved all of his papers into his bag and abruptly stated..."I have to go. I have another appt.!" (Which I am pretty sure that he didn't, because by this time.. it was quite late that evening). Then Brandon proceeded "again" to berate my husband before he left and also stated "You wasted my time!". On his way out Brandon's last words were..."Good luck with your pine needles!"..................Really??? Brandon R. was completely un-proffessional and honestly acted like a child stomping his feet...all because he did not make a sale. On top of all of this... We also wonder how Brandon ever became a commercial accounts manager (as stated on his buisness card) and how a supposed reputable company like LeafFilter would allow someone like Brandon to continue to go to people's homes, knowing how disprespectfully he treats people???? At this point of the game I can only give a 1 star mostly because they are 5 hours late for the installment at this time. The customer service has given me false information twice now and when I finally speak with the installer he has no idea when he will be here, but assured me that the office was supposed to call me yesterday and let me know. Unprofessional is an understatement. After calling for an estimate, a very rude, unprofessional, aggressive salesman (named Trevor) came to our house. After doing his calculations he said "I didn't realize you had gutters all around your house! This is a lot bigger job than we normally do so it's going to be pricey" (after reading the comments and seeing multiple estimates priced around the same as ours I see that was a lie). He gave us an initial quote of $10,500. We told him that was wayyyy too much. He then got upset and kept asking us why it was too expensive, not that it's ANY of his business, but we told him we are doing a few home projects that take priority over this especially for that price. He then said that they could fix all the gutters so they don't leak and install the Leaf Filter just on the front of the house, and that would cost $2,200. Sooo it would cost $8,300 just to put the filter on the other three sides of the house????? The salesman showed up late. Customer Service told me the appointment would take 1/2 hour. He was still here over an hour later and I had another contractor who showed up on time and then had to wait. The worst thing was he climbed up a ladder to my roof and then to show me how high the water had risen in my gutter, he yanked the shingles up off the edge of my newly shingled roof. Yikes! After that he came inside and tried to sell me a several thousand dollar package for 60 feet of gutter screens. I asked and he told me that he doesn't get paid commission unless I signed up while he was here, and he refused to come back when I wanted time to think it over. When I declined his offer, he was obviously angry and hurriedly packed up and left. Also, he knew very little about the independent contractors they use to do the actual installation. Trust your intuition, the screen is too fine, it catches pollen, dust, and the residue from your shingles, this clogs the screen or rests on top requiring more attention than having leaves removed twice a year. Water flows right over the top of the gutter guard in a downpour. A service person has visited to clean off the filter. I remain a very dissatisfied customer. read more

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY !!!! READ BELOW Well I have to say this has been the worse experience I have had with a company in a long time. The sales person came out sold me on the product, service and professionalism of the company. He was able to get someone out to install the next day. My window was 1 to 3 pm so at 4 pm I called him and said no one is here nor has anyone called me to say they are going to be late. he calls back at 4:10 they will be there in 10 minutes. well they show up at 5 pm and there is a 2 guys one older and one much younger. there is suppose to be a 2 man CREW as I was told during the sales process. The younger guy did nothing and the other guy had to keep running up and down the ladder etc etc. Basically working by himself. I even asked him when he came should we wait until another day to install it is 5 pm you look beat, he explains he had a tough job earlier, but he sad no worries this is only a 100 ft job. Well they left at 10 pm working in the dark wearing a head lamp on, to his defense he did ask at 7:45 could he finish and I said sure NEVER thinking 10 pm was when he would finish. The next day a find a hammer in the grass so I call and want to get it back to him. A guy calls and says he will stop by to pick it up for him and he turns out to be the job inspector for the company. I go out and I can see he in unscrewing some piece and taking pictures and question him where is my gutter splash guard and also why are all the pieces along the gutter to tight together. he is concerned and keeps taking pictures and when we go to the back gutters there and more gaps and also nails and screws all on the lower roof. He says he will make a note of this and took more pictures, he picked up all the screws and nails on that roof and he instructs me to call the service department about the splash guard because it is needed and should have been put back. He try to back pedal about the gaps in the gutter guards but I can see he looks concerned and keeps taking pictures. I proceed to call the service number and explain I am not happy with the job and need the gutter slash guard put back on and they tell me they can get to me on June 11. I explain that is unacceptable and ask to speak to someone higher up. Well after 7 different calls etc etc no one called me back. I then try to get to Matt Kauleg the owner or Jeff Beck the CEO but no one seems to know their number or in some cases even who they are. Thanks GOD for American Express I called them and we will be disputing the charge and sending it back to the company. DO NOT DO BUSINESS with the company because the service side on this business just is TERRIBLE and this was day one. We had this system installed April 1st, 2 days after getting the sales pitch. The product is good and after 2 weeks does work well. The salesman said and wrote on our contract that the gutters would be cleaned, leveled and additional supports would be added if needed, and lastly all debris cleaned up. I was not home to witness the install, but did come home to find the debris from my gutters all over the front yard and back deck. I called to share my concern and was told a manager would be in notified. It rained a couple of time since and I find a lot of leaves at the exit of the drain spouts. Part of the sales pitch was that after cleaning and leveling a screw or bolt would be dropped down to the downspout to make sure it was clear. Clearly this didn't happen, though I did find new screws around the yard. For the price I expected better service both from the installer and the customer service person I spoke to. I had one of your salesman come out. I did not appreciate his approach to selling me your service at all. He was very pushy and almost confrontational. No salesman should ever question why I want a free estimate that by the way you offer. Nor should I be giving a fact like 85% of people sign up. I just moved into my house 6 months ago. Spending 6k dollars is not a decision I take likely and will not make right then and there. He didn't want to give me time. I don't want to hear about off season pricing or this and that. I want someone to come in my house and be respectful. By this visit I did not feel comfortable with your company. I don't like how the price was 3 different prices. I just did not feel good about this at all. Don't call your estimates "free" if you are going to force someone to make a big spending decision. He was trying to force my wife to be a part of the talk she did not need to be since a purchase wasn't going to be made tonight. The price is way too high and now that I have read other reviews, I feel like we paid way too much, at least 3000 more than we should have. The product seems like it would be good to protect our gutters and home from all the trees around us. We just got new 6in gutters and have 206ft of gutter. The price started at over $9,500. Then came down to $7,800 after a senior discount. Then to about $6,750 with 0% financing for 60 months. We signed and they were installed the next morning (today). Really good, fast service. Though its too soon to judge the quality. The installers and salesman were really nice and answered all questions. They seemed very professional, knowledgeable, and skilled. I found a price range on Angie's List and Homeguide that said to expect charges between $500 and $2000 based on your home and current gutters. The salesman assured me that he has never seen these installed on even a small home for less than $1000, that it is a new product to this area, and it must be a mistake. He even assured me that the prices were not hirer this year than last year, due to covid or limited material prices. We have new gutters and only bought the leaf filter. They said that the gutters needed to be re-pitched and the extra brackets they installed ever foot really helped our gutters be more sturdy. Otherwise, there was no repairs, additional maintenance, or additional parts besides a corner rain guard that keeps water from overflowing at the corner, but was an extra $80 the salesman told us the day we signed. It costed about $33 per foot of 6in gutter. We really needed a system and they worked hard all day long, but I still think we paid way too much. After seeing others with similar reviews here, and one that haggled the price down to under $2000, now I see my suspicions were correct. I hope these two installers got the majority of the extra they got out of us, cause it was around 34 degrees and sleeting most of the day. Though they said the temperature would not affect the sealer they used cause they heat up the area before applying. We just don't "haggle". I guess I expect companies to give a price and that is the fair market value for their product and service and as other reviewers have said, not like a car salesman trying to make an extra few thousand. I hope this helps you know that you can get this product that seems in theory to be a good system for a better price, just keep talking them down past the first 2 common reductions (as many others have reported 2 price changes before what they say is the lowest cost and best deal). read more

Can't attest to the product itself since they kept on changing the installation schedule 3 times without informing me, so I had no other choice than to cancel the entire order. 2 weeks ago signed a contract to have the gutter protection on my roof. The first installer came as scheduled on 1/11 but couldn't perform the installation because he didn't bring the tools that were required for this job and claimed that he wasn't told. Nobody ever called me about rescheduling the installation, so I had to initiate the call and was then scheduled for 1/18 between 9 and 11am. That day no one showed up, so called and was told it was scheduled for Monday 1/21, so I had to make arrangement to change my other appointments for that coming Monday. The 21st came and still no one showed up at all. Called the installation department and was told that it was set for the 28th on their calendar. This was the straw that broke the camel's back, so decided to cancel the order. The front offices said they would submit the cancellation order and a manager will call me back shortly. No one ever called, so had to pick up the phone for an explanation. The lady at Sales wasn't aware of the cancellation request and would follow up. Finally a call came to say that the order was cancelled without any apologies and explanations. read more

Chris the project manager was instrumental in the job completion. We had a difficult job. Trilevel home, replacing gutters, downspouts and installing gutter protection. The installers were on time and professional. They kept the work site neat and orderly.
