Leaf Filter's promise was "End gutter Cleaning forever". What they don't tell you is you still have to get up on the roof after EVERY rain and clean the FILTER! We did that but our flat roof picked up so much rain, the filters would not let enough water thru and we had 7" of water on the roof. It was in imminent danger of total collapse. My 84-year-old husband climbed up on the second story roof and tried to make the filters flow. He could not. In desperation, he poked a hole in the filter. That "voided our warrantee." said Justin. They will remove the 4-month old filters but will not refund our purchase price. I have reported them to the Better Business Bureau AND the CA Contractors State License Board. Got a free estimate they started at 14 grand then they went down to nine grand. They finally ended at 4000 we accepted they showed up the next day. They didn't clean out our gutters. They just started putting the leaf filter on. I had to call the one 800 number three times for the manager called me. I finally just kicked the people off our property. I wanted to warn the public that this company based out of Redding preys on the elderly. Their door to door salesman talked my 93 year old mother into all new gutters when she only needed one section replaced. He used manipulative sales tactics telling her that if she didn't "place the order tonight" that the sale they were running would no longer be valid. She was charged nearly $6,000 dollars for gutters without a Leaf Filter. Unfortunately, I was on vacation at the time the gutters were ordered and installed. Her neighbors didn't know about it until the company had already started installing them. I will be reporting this company to the Better Business Bureau. Unfortunately, it's too late for my mom. I had leaf filter installed one year and three months ago one of the sections collapsed and now is clogged and when I called to get my forever lifetime warranty, they want to charge me 95 bucks for a service call pretty poor if you asked me. read more

Stay away from these scam artists. They prey on the elderly and are extremely pushy. They quoted my friends elderly mother over $12,000 just to put the leaffilters on, and only to replace one small section of gutters. When she tried to cancel they told her it would only be $3,000 something! They even sent a woman out to make it seem less likely to be a scam. Read the reviews and run. I should have read the reviews before allowing Leaf filter to put the gutter protectors on my house. I don't know why they were so expensive because it didn't take long for the one guy to install them. The first rain storm had water flowing over the gutters over both front and back doors of my house so I couldn't get out without a shower. I asked the sales rep about the sequoia trees that my neighbors and I both have. He assured me that the trees' feather shaped needles would not interfere with the workings of the gutters. That is not the case. They collect on top of the gutter guards. As I read in another review, I still have to climb a ladder to clear off the tops of the gutter guards. In addition, they did not mention that the fiberglass gravel that my roof sheds would also clog up the top of the gutters. They have been to my house twice since the gutters were installed trying to make them work. First time they put up those horrible splash guards. As someone else commented, you can see them from the street. They looks like big white flaps sticking up above my gutters. Not at all attractive. They did not work! I still had water flowing over my gutters. I called them a second time and they came out again. The worker told me that the downspout was completely clogged and he showed me how he had cleaned it out and all the stuff that came out of it. That was supposed to have been done before installing the gutter guards! But it wasn't. So he cleaned the gutter downspout, once again assuring me that the problem was solved. It was, until the next rain storm when I had water flowing over the gutters once more. I had less trouble with my gutters before the gutter protectors were installed. I filled out a free quote request, they were very responsive and I believe I had an appointment same day. The sales rep was very nice. The issue I had was as someone mentioned, he asked to come inside and I understand why. I had dogs barking and kids and I don't want a stranger inside. I assume he asks to come in so it is harder to get him out. I opted to stay outside and sit on a bench which he questioned again to come inside. He also sits me down to go over the book etc, which I advised him I did not care to go over I just wanted the price but he continued with the spill. I was quoted $9200 ish maybe even $9400, which is 6-7 THOUSAND dollars more than other local companies. Thank goodness I opted to stay outside because he was VERY pushy, and I finally had the strength to walk away and go inside. Total turn off. read more

Wayyyyyy way overpriced and pressure to buy. The guy asked to come in my house and sit at my table to discuss gutters, which is weird these days. Then he proceeded to quote over $6k for gutters but with "discounts" it came to $4500 and that's not even with the guards they're known for..... just gutters. I asked how long the discounts were good for and he said just while he was there and he'd give us ten minutes to discuss. Wtf. After 3 hour sales visit they lost our financing. We had our first appointment, no show. The next day they came and didn't have correct materials. Next day they came to "complete the job." The first rain water poured between the roof and gutters. cable lines pulled from the house were left hanging. Boss was on site but would not inspect while crew was still on the job. By the 6th visit they removed and reinstalled new equipment. The Leaf Filters were incorrectly installed so water poured over the gutters. With the final visit cable lines were finally wrapped around pipe in the roof, not stapled in the condition it was in before work commenced. No further calls returned. read more

Representative unprofessional Not well trained no integrity showed dishonesty in relationship with the manager by asking me not to tell her boss she was giving me free coupons. I felt really uncomfortable with the dishonesty she asked me to participate in. Dishonest about the product not revealing the truth. Many online complaints and lawsuits. The representative that came to my home so that they didn't have one complaint in all the USA. Not well informed about payment plan. Got a call later on in the day saying that no payment plan that was initially set up we did not end up qualifying for what a waste of time. I think getting all the information accurately when you're there not bits and pieces and finding out different information later on is unprofessional. LeafFilter 1.​A special inside corner fitting is needed to catch the abundance of water collected in a roof's valley. LeafFilter® has no such fitting. The water tumbles below into the garden, soaking the ground and possibly undermining the foundation in that corner of the house. LeafFilter® has been out to adjust. Twice. On the first visit, the tech installed a piece of corner flashing, three and a half inches tall, extending outward from the corner about 9 inches. Painted. Not something you want your neighbors to see nor did it work so well; hence the second visit. It fell once again to the installer to figure out some fix rather than already have a well thought out, well-engineered, solution. The installer changed out the screens at the corner for new screens with slightly larger openings presumedly to allow water to flow through the screen faster, which probably helps. Then he added another corner flashing. He cut it in half and used each half to extend the original flashing leaving the cut-ends visible, held in place with unsightly hex-headed screws. I did communicate with the installer's supervisor. He said the main problem with the operation of the LeafFilter® is that it was clogged and that I had to clean the gutter toppers, also, I should have been presented with, and signed, a document during installation that declared I knew I had to clean the gutter toppers. Truth is, I was presented with no such document - and he couldn't find one (in his computer search) that I had signed, either. I did ask this supervisor if it wasn't the point of a gutter topper to avoid climbing on a ladder to clean them. He then promised me he would send someone out every year to clean them for me. Even gave me that promise in writing. Unsigned. No specifics. Hmm. I did write back asking for a signature and some specifics. Still waiting ... 2.​The screws used to attach the LeafFilter®screen fittings rise above the lines of the gutter such that a person can see them from the street, and their spacing is about every 10 inches. Again, I'd rather my neighbors didn't see it. We've had other crews here doing other things, so we know it's hard to pick up every scrap of waste created during projects. The LeafFilter® crew did a pretty good job of clean-up. Installation was a decent experience, the crew was friendly and courteous, quiet as practicable, efficient and yes, they cleaned up after themselves. First off the sales rep was late. When he got out of his car he lost his balance, dropped a tape measure and was hit by a few drops from a sprinkler. He let a a string of profane language that would embarrass a sailor. Obviously, he did not see me standing there. I pointed out his tardiness and poor language. He made excuses for both. The day this product was supposed to be installed the crew was prompt and polite. Unfortunately the work was not properly completed/installed and sharp/pointy little screws were left on the ground for my family, pets and I to step on. I called Customer Service and scheduled to have the work completed including a date and time. Guess what? The Leaf Filter rep never showed up and I didn't receive so much as a phone call.
