We loved our visit to Leaky Roof!! I can't recommend their delicious carbonated mead enough. It is unlike anything else I've tasted. All of the varieties we tried were amazing, so I highly recommend doing the sampler flight. The price is great, too. Looking at the other reviews, I feel rather lucky to have come at a slow time, on a dreary January afternoon, because we received friendly, undivided attention from the staff working, and did not have to wait or share the small tasting counter with others. It was a fun and laid back way to spend a little time in the charming small town of Buffalo. We left with a great gift for a friend who is sure to enjoy it - and we'll be looking out for Leaky Roof meads in local liquor shops, that's for sure. My favorite was the dry n' dusty ginger (I am not sure of its exact name)!

Visiting Springfield and decided to make the drive here as I heard they had some live music. What a terrific find! The mead is wonderful! I had the sampler, which I recommend for two people. The sampler really gives you an idea of what these guys can do and the flavors they can pull out. I love that they had live music, terrific little Irish band. The place could use a little help with decor, but what mattered most was the mead. I had to take a growler home! Look forward to visiting again when in town. I would love to find some of their mead on the shelves in California! ;)

Mead was good, but atmosphere within the tasting room was not. Place was dirty and disheveled.

Close to Springfield, this is a great little mom-and-pop run business within a 30 minute drive of…read morenorth Springfield. This is definitely a "don't judge a book by its cover," kind of place... what you see outside when you drive up is not what you get inside. Inside, the winery boasts Missouri wines from Missouri grapes, but it also has some very unique, tasty mead wines (not mead in a beer style). Though much of the selection leans semisweet to sweet, there are a few dry whites and reds, with a particularly good Norton that is matured in oak barrels. 6 tastings for free or 12 for $5 to include a free stemless glass. Cheers!

Got there, didn't hear any music. . . and didn't see any people, for that matter. Checked one door--locked. Checked the next door--locked. Since the website said they were open, I called, asked if they were open, and was told the sign on the door said to ring the door bell if the door was locked. It didn't look like a high crime area, so I was a little puzzled by that. I will say that the woman behind the counter was obliging, told us about the wines, and let us sample a few. Feeling a little sheepish--and even a little intrusive--about being the only ones there, we got glasses of wine, rummaged through the too-sparse collection of table games, drank the wine, and left. One truck passed on the road the entire time. I can't give this place a high review, based on this bizarre, minimalistic experience as a customer, but I don't want to say it is bad, either. The only thing I want is an answer to "WTH just happened."
