After pestering the hospital for 6 months to contact the collections agency, they finally did. I received a call from Eric Hart at Grant & Weber letting me know that he has directed the credit bureaus to remove the derogatory information from my credit report. I requested a letter stating this information, as I prefer to have everything in writing in case something goes wrong, and he sent it to me immediately. It had been over 2 months since the account was supposed to be removed from my credit report, and my credit report was still showing that a collection was filed. The account was supposed to be removed within 30 days. I called Eric and explained what happened and asked him what I should do. He told me that he did instruct the credit bureaus to remove my account, but they are behind due to the pandemic. He instructed me to file a dispute and even leave his name in the comments. The account was removed from my credit report within TWO DAYS. I am over the moon. As someone in their early 20s looking to rent an apartment and buy a car in the near future, having a not-so-great credit score (through no fault of my own) was really affecting the ease of making these changes/purchases. I cannot thank Eric Hart enough. He is the only one in this whole process who has actually helped me in an extremely prompt manner. Not a single word can be spoken to their "representatives" without them calling you rude and threatening your credit score. Absolutely abhorrent company and are nothing but willing to be rude, disrespectful, and crass on the phone while not letting customers speak. Do your absolute best to AVOID this company as much as possible. They're bullies with superiority complexes and will not let you pay your bill so they can keep getting money. AVOID.
