The first time I met Mommy Peaches, the worry was thrown out the window. She immediately makes you feel like family. Her passion for life and sincerity is so infectious and it shows with the kids. Mommy Peaches has the best set ups and parties. What really warmed my heart was during every holiday, she would always send my daughter a gift or gift bag. My daughter was never in her school. Their experience, kindness, creativity, and patience contribute to a school that is warm, welcoming, and runs incredibly smoothly. (Running a preschool isn't easy, but somehow they make it look like it is!) They are one of the only Montessori schools in the Bay Area that are accredited by the American Montessori Society, and they use a Montessori curriculum that guides the children to learn about themselves and the world around them in a really beautiful way. This, coupled with a thoughtful environment, wonderful outdoor space, and everything bilingual in Spanish and English, creates such an enriching experience for the children there. We walk into a huge class of about 34 children and one teacher playing a keyboard while another is standing with them. All the children are standing with very little space to move trying to follow along. There was no sense of organization. As she is showing us the school she interrupts us to loudly tell the children that they were not singing loud enough and that they needed to be louder. Okey, I figured this was supposed to be something that children do for fun. Let them be children! Not that serious & not all children are the same. Some children are a little more quiet/shy than others. That is okey ! She preceded with telling us all about HER,HERSELF,& HER. All about her credentials and her degrees with the amount of time it took her to obtain them. "Me & my staff are all very educated". So much she forgot to explain her curriculum or if she even had one. Outside they have a animals locked up. They have a big old Tuttle in a small plastic container (about the size of a shoe box) with no room to walk. The lady precedes to tell us that "she is very old". They also have a rabbit in a cage. We finally get to sit down to try and see what schedules she offered and her cost. Prior to discussing anything she hands me a form to fill out. She doesn't explain what it's for or what it is but she just says "fill it out". The form was asking for all of my daughters info such DOB and things like that. I told her I would feel more comfortable to fill out a form like that once I have made a decision on whether she was going to attend that school or not. She got INFURIATED and told us to leave because we were coming in unidentified and suspicious even though we had introduced ourselves over the phone and in person prior to walking into her house. (If this is her patience threshold with an adult ! I can only imagine with innocent children). Question is: If you felt we were suspicious from the get and you knew you had other children under your watch while we were touring... why did you let us come in ? I wouldn't let someone suspicious come in my house specially when I have so many children that are not mine under my watch. The area: homeless people smoking and talking to themselves outside in front of a large main intersection. Finally, the student teacher ratio was horrible. I asked her how many children she had on a regular day and she said anywhere from 26-36! Wow I don't know how she got her license for that many children in such a small location. Now this last couple of months have been horrible. Teacher sumra and teacher Tina are amazing educators. They have taught my son a lot of things. The lack of communication that comes from is very unfortunate and unprofessional. We had one meeting and there was things discussed. Now I call they do not answer the phone and their word " too busy doing other things" I have reached out the owner Cindy a very lovely lady, and does her best to help. But of course there has been no change into lack of communication from being able to call. I also now text and even then it's too much for them to do. I like to call in to check in on my child and talk directly with the teacher, but now I get push back from her and I speak to a different teacher. These last couple of months have just been terrible and I'm all out of options. I work about an hour away from the school and not being able to communicate with them had just been very difficult, stressful and disappointing.

But with the constant support and constant communication throughout the day it has been such a warming transition. I receive MULTIPLE updates with pictures and curricular schedule throughout the day. The program is a combination of play based activities with a strong focus on academics to prepare them for K-12. They also learn words and songs in Spanish and sign language. Each week they get to practice writing, coloring, cooking, science, experiments, sharing toys from home, and extracurricular activities like gymnastics, martial arts, music and much more! The facility is impeccably clean and organized, with toys and activities presented in rotation to keep them stimulated and engaged. My son is strong willed and easily one of the most stubborn individuals I've ever met, but the staff here handled him with grace and helped guide him to foster excellent social and listening skills. Ms. Sonja, Ms. Vanessa, Ms. Abigail, Ms. Gen, and even Ms. Dara who is no longer there - THANK YOU for loving and caring for my child like he was your own. He is who he is today because of your hard work and dedication, and for that we are forever in your debt. Ms Carmelita is great at communicating with us throughout the day with pictures and short videos and sends little notes home in her bag. Drop off is a breeze and my kiddo feels so comfortable she toddles right in and waves bye. My little one is always smiling and happy when we pick her up.
