My daughter loves it here. They have a wide selection and super friendly staff. I especially like how they have bins that kids can fill as a wish list for their birthdays! Then, when their friends come in shopping for them, they know what they want! My only complaints is that they are a bit pricy and they sell live frogs and I noticed that a lot of the frogs were dead, which shows me they don't take good care of them. Edit: just saw your response. Are you this defensive with all your sub par reviews? I said I saw frogs. It wasn't yesterday. But I haven't even lived in lake Zurich for 3 years, so I know it's been more recent than that! You have a nice store. Your kindness in your response to future customers could use a little finesse. Wao! There are no more toy stores around. This was so much fun! They give you the opportunity to interact with the toys. First off their hours totally sock only open till 5 PM? People literally get out of work after that how are they supposed to get their kids any actual toys?! I saw this place on Facebook a while back and wanted to swing by. I brought my daughter here and we were both amazed. They jam packed this place with lots of fun. They have a lot of unique items, birthday registry bins for boys or girls to put toys they want for their birthdays, gift wrapping, and toys everywhere. I used to like learning express always begging my mom for thinking putty or something. The reason I gave this a four star is because the place needs better service. It's very convenient for a little kid. They don't like hair cuts. And my favorite haircut place super cuts is right there. You promise your kid a toy if he is good. read more

The thing I love most about Learning Express is that they will customize items for you. I love buying gifts for the kids in my life and getting their name put on it! It's especially meaningful for kids who have unique names (and seriously, aren't names getting really unique these days?). They are always so proud to see their name on their toy or other item. They have some unique toy offerings that you don't often see in other stores. So I love knowing I'm purchasing a gift they probably won't be getting duplicates of. Their birthday gift registry is great! Kids can go to the store and pick out items they want, and they get put into a basket with their name and party date on it. Then people can go in and purchase gifts they know will be a hit because the child chose them him or herself. Oh! And they also wrap!!! I don't know about you, but wrapping gifts isn't always my favorite chore. Learning Express wraps gifts beautifully! And at no extra charge! read more

It is pricey, but they also carry toys that you might not find other places. PLUS they wrap your gifts for you. Kids can also make a "birthday list" that other people can see when they come in to shop for the child. They have a lot of cool games for all ages that are not found at Toys R Us. There is a decent sized craft section for the creative kiddos, and a lot of science kits and activities for your little braniac. If your child is obsessed with Thomas the Train, this is a great place to stop and play and pick up some new track pieces or trains. Their custom items are pretty great as well. There are signs for doors, cups, activity tables, and all kinds of stuff. For such a little store, they carry a lot of different items. If you want to find a unique gift, I'd check it out. They have extensive things you will not find in other stores, they also customize everything (for a nominal fee) and the have a "registry" for birthdays..The carry Webkinz and other educational toys... They also have things for the smallest budgets to the largest ones... if you live in the area I suggest stopping in to purchase for the myriad of birthday parties the kids go too.. and they are wonderful with returns. Love this place! My son was able to go in & pick out his birthday gifts. The fun part about picking them out was that a lot of the toys were out so he was able to play with them before buying them. This is an amazing toy store! The employees were very nice. The selection of toys is outstanding. I love melissa&doug toys but it's not always easy to find a wide selection. This store has a WIDE selection of those toys. My son was occupied with display toys while I picked out his Christmas gift and they secretly gift wrapped it behind the counter. I came into the store today to have someone look at my son's figit spinner (the ceramic broke within two weeks). I had explained the story to Jessica (who was a sweetheart over the phone) she told to come back in and they will see what they could do for him. I had the unfortunate experience dealing with Joanne. Not only was she rude to me and told me figit spinners cannot be returned but she was also rude to my 6 year old son. Telling him to be more responsible with his things. She did exchange it for him, but it was like torture like I was returning a $1000 piece of merchandise. Her attitude was horrible-not the way a business owner should act in front of a line of customers. I will not be giving one dollar to this store anymore, which is too bad because my son loves this place and so did I. read more

Store wide sales (about once a month or more) and coupons for the other days. Rewards program for frequent shoppers. Free personalization and gift wrapping. Easy return policy. Birthday boxes so a child can "register" for the gifts they'd like to receive. A play area and toy demos so kids and parents can try out various toys before buying. I just wanted to commend Jessica for knowing her merchandise!!!! I went into the store to look for a game that could be entertaining for an only child. She was amazing! Not only did she steer me to the right area of the store, she also knew so much about each game, including time needed to play, difficulty levels, add on products for each game, unbelievable knowledge of how to play each game, and a cheerful disposition on top of that!
