The tutor turn out to be a retired Chemistry professor who spent 15 minutes complaining about the fact that VT assign to him too many students and he didn't have time to take care of anyone. We changed tutor. My student has a question, the same answer was given three times. Finally it came out that my student had not clearly understood what an isotope is. The tutor replied "you should know what an isotope is". We finally gave up and requested to cancel the subscription. They told me to consider it a done thing. One month later, mid-December, I was charged 324$ on the credit card. I called them to ask a refund and to finally cancel the subscription for good. The reply was that the contract does not allow for refunds, only for credit. When I promised to write this review, they told me "ok, we will put you in contact with the special requests team"... Our experience has been that of incompetent tutors and a scam-like approach to billing. At the time of writing I am not sure yet if they plan to bill me again in one month. Don't give your credit card number to this people.

He informed me that someone on their end must have messed up. I requested to change to sessions every other week at the 2 hour interval, and he told me that he could set that up. Now my account shows that I have no sessions scheduled, so I think they cancelled my account! Not very easy to work with on the client relations side, definitely do not recommend. After another call they set me up with a couple more sessions which I appreciated. Recommend being very clear over the phone because sometimes the agents can set up the account incorrectly

I truly know one of the people they're taking about and they tried their best, even if students didn't feel it worked. About what's actually "toxic", are the students themselves. The teachers enable the popular kids and their spoiled entitlement and lack of spiritual education in which these kids blatantly gossip and disrespect other nice teachers. They shun those who are themselves and like joking around when they very well do the same. About savio's work load, it's very difficult, especially junior year, but after all no one is forcing us to pay to o there every year, it's college preparatory after all. I do agree that savio underpays their staff, but they're not exactly government funded, when staff sign up, they know their salary. Lastly, for my real opinion on Savio: It's not very catholic, and lacks a spiritual aspect. Go to a cheaper catholic school like San Juan Diego and find a more friendly student environment.

Wow, what can I say, I feel like we won the jackpot when we found Magellan. our daughter started in…read moreKindergarten and although she isn't very good at adapting or transitions, she immediately fell in love with her teachers and school friends.. There are no cliques and no bullying and when we have had issues we have raised them with the teachers and they have jumped on them to solve them immediately, and unlike other private schools there's no sense of entitlement from the parents or students. Also, because the school is so good at awarding scholarships not everyone is 'rich'! The school also has a great parent teacher association which offer weekly meet-ups and play dates as well as adult only events. Each class also has a WhatsApp chat group so parents can easily communicate with each other. If it sounds like one big happy family you'd be right, that's exactly what it feels like. In terms of academics my adhd child has thrived. Diagnosed at 4 we thought she would struggle but the school has been amazing at supporting her needs and accommodating her. They also offer many different seating types from a bouncy ball chair, to cushions on the floor and other such. It's very holistic and non political and offers many diverse ways of learning. They have a calming corner, encourage reading and emotional open communication as well many other ways of teaching emotional and academic intelligence. They teach in Spanish from day one and introduce Mandarin from 3rd grade, they also teach following the international Baccalaureate which is amazing. It teaches the children self confidence through weekly presentations and teaches them autonomy. Honestly this school is amazing and now it goes until 12th grade we are obsessed and so you will be too. But, sshh don't tell anyone about our secret slice of heaven.

The teachers... the teachers have all been so amazing. They are loving, caring and really take each student's personalities and abilities into consideration as they grow from year to year. PBLs take a kid's natural curiosity in a subject and show them how to combine ALL their school subjects (STEM, Social Studies, Language Arts, Hebrew, art and music) to present what they've learned. The kids learn how to present starting in kindergarten-- I'll never forget the first time my kid presented their Portfolio, I had no idea this 5 year old was capable of being so prepared, articulate, and confident. My jaw must've dropped a foot. I was just blown away!!! This child comes with some extremely unique, diagnosed developmental and learning challenges that, I've realized in the years since, would likely be too challenging to work with in a public school class three times bigger than his is. At AJA my kids get so much individual support, not just from their teachers but from every adult in the building. Academically, my kids are thriving. The expectations are high, and the teachers have been so talented and creative in their approaches to supporting my kids (not by coincidence-- they are constantly doing new faculty trainings). Our more neurotypical child has thrived and been encouraged to really push herself as well, and as a result has discovered proclivities for math specifically. I've wondered if, in a much larger class, this kiddo might have been kind of lost in the mix as a good-enough B student. Money well spent in my opinion! And then there's what brought us here: the Jewish education. I can see the way the school integrates Jewish values into the kids' daily lives. I see my children actually enjoy participation in Jewish culture and tradition, and apply lessons from our ancient texts to their modern day lives. They know exactly who they are and where they came from. They teach me stuff now!!! It makes a Jewish mother proud.

But his regular academics were beyond awful. Terrible classroom management. My son was bullied and nothing was done about it. They finally have a new board, but I would wait 5 more years to see if they iron out their issues before I sent my child there!
