But worst of all was the tasteless meal. I got the walleye (aka pickerel) and though the presentation looked nice the fish had no taste. I don't usually need Tartar sauce but this one would have benefited from some, had it been included. I don't ever add salt to my food but this needed seasoning, of almost any type. Similarly the rice was bland and mushy and the asparagus was oily, also with no taste. Very disappointed. Also disappointing was the lack of any local beer options.

We had such a great time that we returned the following night with four of us just before closing for pizza. Jonathan was our server both times, and he was fantastic--friendly, efficient, attentive, and just plain fun. He even accidentally spilled a glass of Prosecco on me during our first visit (luckily I was wearing black!), but he handled it with humor and professionalism. The fact that we happily came back the very next night says everything about the overall experience. On our second visit, we ordered the 13-inch Canadian NWO pizza (pepperoni, bacon, mushrooms, and mozzarella). As someone from the U.S., I'd never even heard of an "NWO" pizza! It was delicious, although the crust was just a little more done than I prefer. At around $26 CAD, it was a bit pricey, but we'd still order it again. The beer was good, though none of the ones we sampled really wowed us. Honestly, that hardly mattered because the atmosphere was so much fun. We loved both the patio and the indoor/outdoor seating, and the place had a lively, welcoming energy that made us want to stay awhile. We enjoyed it so much that we even bought a T-shirt before leaving. If you're in Kenora, don't miss this place. Great service, good food, a fun vibe, and a perfect place to relax with family or friends. We'd absolutely be back.
