And let's be real, it had everything to do with discrimination. Whether it was my ankle monitor, my insurance status, or something else--y'all made a conscious decision to treat me like I was less than. Let's talk about Mr. Deep for a second. I asked him point-blank: "Do you think this has anything to do with a Baker's cyst? I've had them 3-4 times before, but it never spread into my calf." He looked me in the face and said, "No." Guess what? It was a Baker's cyst. So, either he didn't know what he was talking about, or he just didn't care. Meanwhile, I was in excruciating pain and just needed something--whether it was the meloxicam (which wasn't available until Monday morning) or ANYTHING to get some relief. Instead, I had to go to another doctor, who actually helped me by prescribing prednisone, which finally gave me some relief. And let's talk about the lies. Y'all told me Dr. Potts doesn't do knee replacements. If that's true, fix his online info because that's false advertising. You told me you called in my meloxicam, but guess what? You waited THREE DAYS to do it. Why? Now, you're trying to get rid of me after I've been seeing Dr. Potts for 2.5 years? What did I do to deserve this? I've had conversations with him about growing up around Jimmy Andrews, about vacationing and duck hunting with them. And now y'all want to treat me like I don't matter? And another thing--Mr. Deep had the nerve to pull up my X-rays and tell me my knee isn't quite "bone on bone," so I shouldn't be in this much pain. Excuse me?? He straight-up said their patients either just deal with the pain or get surgery. What kind of nonsense is that? Let me be very clear: I wasn't looking for pain meds. I don't even take them. I was in agony and could barely walk for a week. I saw y'all once, then my girlfriend insisted I get help, and THIS is what I got? Dr. Sacks sent me off for an MRI of my hip and along with x-rays in his office, he told me that arthroscopy would definitely help my condition. Immediately after surgery, in recovery, he was very happy with the results. And expected me to make a full recovery in 6 months to a year (the normal range of time for the surgery). At my 5 minute long post op appointment, 6 months later, Dr. Sacks said 3 times, "It's a good thing I'm a great surgeon". Each time he said it my wife and I would look at one another in disbelief with how shamelessly impressed he was with himself. However, at no time after surgery did my condition improve. A year later, I saw his assistant, Josh. I was shocked as he told me that the surgery was obviously not a success and that was due to the severe arthritis in my joint - something Dr. Sacks never mentioned to me before or after surgery. In fact, as I've been told by other doctors since, that my age and arthritis should have made me ineligible for hip arthroscopy, since that type of surgery has no chance of success. Instead, Dr. Sacks should have sent me along with a referral for hip replacement. After speaking with Dr. Sacks about it, he said that my hip is in such bad shape that there was nothing he could do surgically to repair the arthritic damage. If that was the case, why perform the surgery in the first place? Why not send me to someone who could actually help me rather than hurt me? Dr. Sacks set my recovery back by 3 years as I have been going dr to dr trying to figure out what was still wrong with my hips post op. Maybe Dr. Sacks is a decent surgeon with a god complex. Or maybe he's just so caught up in his day to day that he is incapable of a diagnosis any longer. Either way, I would NOT recommend him. He will gladly perform his surgery on anyone who walks into his door regardless of their individual condition. Knowing what I know now, I cannot recommend that you trust him with your care.

He explains each step in recovery in great detail and never makes me feel rushed. Anytime I had a question that I'd ask through sending a message on My Chart, he would respond within hours, same day. Was basically unable to walk (osteoarthritis) when I finally went to him, he said in a perfect world 15 yrs ago would have saved me a lot of pain, but here we are and so let's make it work and he did! He didn't seem arrogant or full of himself as many doctors are, making you feel as if they're gracing you with their presence. Really liked him and that was the most important part for me.

It's so nice not to see the purple ropey veins in my legs. I'm conscientious & careful not to stand in one spot for long periods of time due to achiness in the legs & I'm faithful about wearing my support knee-highs (20-30 mmHg) every day. My support knee -highs make me feel like I have a 2nd pair of legs. I'm considering purchasing 20-30 mmHg colorful, compression knee-high socks to wear with shorts for the summer & start a new trend & fashion statement for all of us with venous insufficiency. I went in complaining of pins and needles,…read morenumbness, visions problems, cognitive impairment, falling, tripping, dropping things.. etc. (Basically every single symptom of MS). Dr. Maloon looked at me all of five minutes and didn't even do an exam or check my blood pressure. When I was going over my symptoms he interrupted me and told me I was going way too fast for him to keep up. Seriously? You're a neurologist. Told me I had nothing wrong with me but he would send me for an MRI to prove to me that it's all in my head and there's nothing wrong with me. The office never called to schedule the MRI and when I called to leave multiple voicemails I received no call back. They literally blew me off completely. Dr. Maloon proceeded to tell me I just had migraines and sent me home with migraine medication. Migraine medications severely lower blood pressure in people who already have low BP. Which I do and he didn't even check it so how would he know? Very disappointed in this doctor. Beware. Don't waste your time here. You won't get answers. I went back to my Rheum who in fact did blood work and is suspecting MS. Sending me for an MRI and referring me to another specialist who will get me the help and treatment I need.
