I couldn't be more grateful to her or happier with my experience. Dr. Wallen truly listened to my concerns, didn't rush, and assured me he would do everything possible to rectify the situation. I had a great deal of apprehension about the process after what I'd experienced before. He was careful, gentle, and now I have a wonderful new crown! I particularly like the way he talks with me about each step -- he speaks deliberately and professionally, making sure that I understood the process/goals but without being patronizing or talking down to me. Instead, it just felt like he truly cared and wanted to make sure that I felt okay about everything. Additionally, his assistant Lena is also kind, professional, and thorough (as are all his staff, I'm sure -- I just haven't had anyone else work with me). The front desk staff are also always personable, efficient, and helpful. I'm so thankful to have found Dr. Wallen. My whole family is switching to his practice.

Few yrs of routine exam/cleaning was fine until my teenage son had his last cleaning done. His…read more6mos cleaning took only about 20mins & they said he needed a filling done for a cavity. Dr. Wallen did not explain this to me, which I thought it was very unprofessional. I stood there for at least 5mins until one of the receptionist acknowledged me. Neither of them were on the phone. The billing lady is normally condescending(although she's not always right)so I was glad she didn't call on me. 6 months after, I took my son to another dentist for routine cleaning/exam. The "cavity" that Dr.Wallen wanted to fix was just a stain & not a cavity! I saved $150 & unnecessary procedure done for my son's teeth!

I've been a patient at WA Dental for over two years and never had an issue--until this last visit…read more In early December, I had a cleaning and the dentist told me I needed one filling, and that it didn't look too serious. The front desk scheduled me and I asked for a price estimate because I considered waiting until January 2026 when my insurance renews. The front desk told me if I waited until January, I'd pay around $120-$140 out of pocket. But if I did the filling before January, they said I'd only pay about $70, and they even had me sign paperwork confirming that $70-ish amount. Based on that, I booked the filling for December 26 and paid $70+ at the counter. I was clearly told that was it and they would handle insurance. No additional charges. Then three weeks later, I get a call saying I still "owe" another $59. Excuse me? I paid what your office quoted, I signed what you put in front of me, and I was told there would be no additional balance. Now suddenly the total is about $135, which is basically the same amount you told me I'd pay in January--so what was the point of rushing in right after Christmas? This is a huge trust issue. If your estimates are that unreliable, don't pressure patients into decisions with incorrect numbers and signatures. To make it worse, the person who called said they would follow up--they didn't--but the clinic had no problem sending an email demanding payment. This is poor communication and borderline bait-and-switch billing. If this isn't corrected, I won't be coming back, and I'll be finding a dental office that actually stands by what they tell patients.

I hate the dentist because other dentist offices take FOREVER and at times felt rushed after they got me in the exam room and not at all comfy, but not in Dr. Hwangs office. I honestly wish I would have found him alot sooner I ran through like 2 flippers because I didnt want to go all over the place to get my implant...periodontics here, dental exam there, implant over here?! This place is a one stop shop for Implants and everything , he does it all. I don't have insurance and am paying for everything out of pocket, but thankfully Dr. Hwang has coupons online or gives deals and works with you...he seems to be personable with his rates, not like other places where the doctor doesnt even care about your situation. The entire staff is awesome from the lovely receptionist Carmen to the dental assistants and the main dentist Dr. Hwang. They all were very professional and welcoming not to mention the doctor is so cheerful and always in good spirits. What I really appreciated was, they didn't make me feel bad or try to pressure me into seeing other professionals or getting extra stuff that I didnt need, all the other dentists said it was REQUIRED I get this that n the other. At Dr. Hwangs they told me the price of everything before they did the procedure and they explained the options I had they even let me break up the cost into payments. I payed 1/2 of what every other implant in Washington would have costed me. Extra thanks to Carmen the receptionist She was very nice she answered all my questions and always touching bases with me as far as my appointments and payment arrangements. The assistants were all very layed back, gentle and made sure I was comfortable and I really appreciate that as well.

I am NEVER going back to this clinic I had an appointment scheduled with Dr. Hwang, which was canceled by the clinic at the last minute. They rescheduled me for Saturday at noon. After my X-rays were taken, I was brought in for an examination, but Dr. Hwang refused to do my "annual cleaning". As he forced me for deep cleaning without having a regular cleaning first instead. This not only disrupted my X-rays and annual cleaning--which are supposed to be part of the same routine checkup--but Dr. Hwang also mentioned they didn't have time to complete the cleaning because the clinic was closing. Now when I will make a new appointment with a new clinic they would ask me to go for x-rays as regular protocol meaning out of pocket cost.
